New V12 Vantage S Does 0-60 in 3.7 Seconds, Fastest Aston After the One-77

It seems that today is the day for announcing acceleration times, as shortly after GM's release on the new 2014 Corvette Stingray, which does 0-60mph (96km/h) in 3.8 seconds, Aston Martin confirmed a similar set of figures for its new 565-hp V12 Vantage S. Read more »

Harris Pits Jaguar F-Type Against Porsche 911S Cabriolet and Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster

The Jaguar F-Type is a car that the British brand has great expectations, otherwise they wouldn’t have called it the spiritual successor to the legendary E-Type. Nevertheless, this is not the 1960s, and the F-Type has to stand up against much tougher competitors than the E-Type had to.

At least for the F-Type V8 S model that is powered by a 495-hp V8, the most feared competitor is the world’s default sports car, the Porsche 911 - in its Carrera S Cabriolet iteration. Chris Harris took both for a spin, adding the old and “slow” Aston V8 Vantage Roadster to the mix, and reached some interesting conclusions.

Aston Martin's New 565-HP V12 Vantage S Replaces V12 Vantage [w/Video]

It looks like the teaser video Aston Martin released a few days ago was a preview of the new 565-hp V12 Vantage S. With 55 more horsepower than the V12 Vantage it replaces, the V12 Vantage S is described by Aston Martin as the brand's fastest road-going model – since the One-77 hypercar isn't produced any more.

Powered by the new 565hp (573 PS) AM28 6.0-liter V12 engine, it is capable of reaching 205 mph (330 km/h). Fitted with the latest generation Bosch engine management, the unit delivers 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque at 5,750 rpm, up from 570 Nm/420 lb-ft in the V12 Vantage. Low rev torque, measured at just 1,000 rpm, is also up from 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) to 510 Nm (376 lb-ft).

Aston Martin V12 Vantage Reportedly Reaches the End of the Line

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage is a ludicrous car. If you've even seen one up close, you’ll know it is quite short, very wide and equally low – it’s a sports car with an insanely large engine for its dimensions, and squat purposeful proportions.

The fact that AM even made it at all is surprising and impressive enough, and even more so that they managed to produce a total of 1,200 units from 2009 to 2013 (200 more than they originally planned to build, means that the likelihood of you seeing one blasting off from a set of traffic lights is just that little bit greater.

New Aston Martin Vantage SP10 Offers a 6-Speed Manual for the First Time on V8 S

Once upon a time not too long ago, sports cars and manual gearboxes were synonymous. Nowadays, it's getting harder and harder to find a high-end performance car with a stick shift as most automakers are opting for dual clutch or automated manual transmissions.

Aston Martin's Vantage V8 S, which is the more focused and slightly more powerful at 430hp (436PS) sibling of the regular V8 model, is one such example as it is available exclusively with the English brand's Sportshift II 7sp automated manual transmission.

Aston Martin Celebrates Centenary with Special Edition Models

On January 15, Aston Martin became 100 years old and to celebrate its birthday, it announced the launch of 100 examples of each of its model lines, including the V8 Vantage, DB9, Rapide and Vanquish – but not the Cygnet (we wonder why…), which are offered for sale worldwide now. Read more »

EVO Tries Out Aston Martin’s New Vantage V12 Roadster

It has taken Aston Martin no less than three years to roll out the open-top version of the V12-engined Vantage.

Given that other roadsters, like the Ferrari 458 and McLaren MP4-12C Spiders, which use much more advanced tops than the canvas unit employed by the Aston Martin model, hit the market not long after their coupe versions, this is quite a long time.

New Aston Martin Vanquish and V12 Vantage Roadster Thrashed Around the Nürburgring

Evidently, Aston Martin has not quite yet finished tweaking the new Vanquish Coupe, even though the company has officially presented the car.

A camouflage-free, pre-production model together with a lightly disguised prototype of the Vanquish were filmed racing around the Nürburgring Nordschleife this week.

Aston Martin Lifts the Top on New V12 Vantage Roadster with 510hp

Some three years after the introduction of the V12 Vantage Coupe in 2009, Aston Martin has presented a roofless version of its sports car that joins the lesser Vantage and Vantage S V8 models.

There are no surprises under the hood with the range-topping Vantage Roadster using Aston Martin’s naturally aspirated 5.9-litre V12 engine that generates 510hp (517PS) at 6,500 rpm and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of maximum torque at 5,750 rpm.

Coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox that directs power to the rear wheels, the V12 Vantage Roadster hits 100km/h (62mph) in 4.5 seconds, which makes it 0.3 seconds slower than the coupe. It's top speed, however, is the same at 305km/h (190mph).

After the 420hp (426PS) Vantage V8 Roadster and its slightly more powerful 430hp (436PS) Vantage S Roadster sibling, Aston Martin has whipped up a new open-top edition of the series, this time based on the V12 Vantage that's powered by a 5.9-liter twelve-cylinder engine producing 510hp (517PS) in the coupe. Aston Martin V8 Vantage Design Concept by Narcis Mares is Simplistically Beautiful

Some designers like their cars to be complex and overly aggressive in their details while others prefer to keep things sleek and simple.

This Aston Martin V8 Vantage concept, which was sent to Carscoop by independent designer Narcis Mares, is one of those cars we would personally catalogue in the second group.

Mares says he drew his inspiration from several Aston Martins ranging from the British brand's brutish 1980s models to the more contemporary V12 Vanquish and V8 Vantage coupes, though we must say that we also see a hint of BMW Z4 on the supercar concept's profile.
