Hyundai Increases US Production by 19 Percent to Keep Up with Demand and Offset Import Losses

Having many cars on the parking lot and little or no customers is any dealer’s nightmare. On the other hand, not having enough cars to satisfy the clients that walk into your dealership is something of a problem, too.

Hyundai North America CEO John Krafcik said that the company, which currently has difficulties keeping up with demand due to a tight inventory, will increase U.S production by 19 percent from September until year’s end compared to the same period in 2011.

With more than a million vehicles (1,072,679 to be exact) delivered in the first quarter of 2012, which account for a 16.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year, Hyundai’s global sales are booming.

Yet John Krafcik, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, believes that despite its ever-increasing range, there is a segment in which the carmaker is weak: car buyers with families. He is counting on the 2013 Santa Fe to change that.

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Roars Like a Lion and Cries Like a Baby in New Korean Ads

We know from first hand that each market has its own needs and values when it comes to advertising products, but we can't help but feel that at least a couple of Hyundai's South Korean market ads for the latest generation of the Santa Fe are an awkward throwback to previous decades.

This is most evident in the commercial where Hyundai pictures the Santa Fe in one scene sliding and roaring like a lion and in another displays the interior with a baby's cry heard from the background, supposedly to show that it's tough on the outside and soft in the inside.

Head on past the break to watch all the ads.
