Spy Shots: New Nissan Qashqai Crossover Looks Like a Baby 2015 Rogue

You'd be forgiven to mistake this plastic-wrapped Nissan prototype for the next Rogue in North America, and from what we hear, the new X-Trail for the rest of the world, that our spies nabbed testing in the States a couple of weeks ago, given that the styling looks almost identical at a first glance. Scoop: All-New Nissan Rogue and Possibly X-Trail SUV

Here we have the first scoop pictures of the next iteration of the North American Nissan Rogue, and if our information is correct, the new global market X-Trail as well. This prototype was nabbed while undergoing hot weather testing in Death Valley.

Nissan may have plastered the Rogue's body with more tape than an Egyptian mummy, but it can’t hide the similarities to last year's Hi Cross Concept study that was shown both in Europe and in the USA, something doesn't come to as a surprise as this was something we anticipated.

Nissan Reportedly Reworking Dacia Duster into a New Terrano

Dacia has won a lot of praise for its honestly priced lineup of cars, which have convinced many buyers that “cheap doesn’t mean bargain basement.” The Duster, which is also badged as a Renault in some markets, including Russia and India, is gaining popularity, and its reviews are generally positive.

Now, Nissan reportedly wants its own version of the 4x4, which it will name the Terrano, reviving an older nameplate, used from 1993 to 2006. Autocar India is sure of this, adding that the Nissan model will be around $1,000 more expensive than the vehicle on which it’s based. The report seems to confirm a pair of patent pictures of a Nissan-faced Duster that appeared online earlier this year.

Scoop: Mildly Facelifted Nissan Micra Caught Unguarded in Thailand

It has been three years since Nissan released the Micra hatchback at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, which means that it's time for a mid-cycle update. And sure enough, Nissan has prepared a facelift for the sub-compact model, which was nabbed undisguised by a forum member of the Pulsar-Club during a commercial shoot in Thailand. Read more »

Nissan Allegedly Looking to Clone Dacia Duster SUV, Looks Like a Mini Patrol

A pair of digitally rendered photos showing the Dacia Duster SUV with a Nissan fascia and rear end surfaced on Facebook today. According to the IndianAutosBlog site, the pictures are "3D mock-ups from a design lab" that were intended "strictly for internal circulation and study purposes", but somehow ended up on the web.

While we won't completely rule out the possibility that the renderings may have been made by someone outside the company, given the Renault-Nissan Alliance's past, there could be truth to these photos as many Dacia models are marketed under different brands around the world.

Future Cars: CarScoop's Vision of the 2017 Nissan GT-R

Ever since its Japanese launch in 2007 (USA 2008), the Nissan GT-R has gained a huge following and respect with its supercar-bashing performance. Subtle upgrades have been applied over its current lifespan with the aim of keeping Italians, Germans and Americans at bay with its AWD drivetrain coupled to a potent 3.8L twin-turbo V6.

However, the competition will not surrender; cue GM and Porsche with their new Corvette Stingray and 911 models respectively, as prime examples - hence why Nissan is expected to respond again.

For those of us like myself who grew up as part of the early-adapting PlayStation generation, the GT-R obsession grew with the R32-34 Nissan Skylines of the 1990's. Their bang-for-buck thrills combined with endless modification options has turned the GT-R moniker into something of an automotive cult status.

Do These Patent Drawings Reveal the New 2014 Nissan X-Trail and Rogue SUVs?

Last year, beginning with the Geneva motor show in March and continuing with the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, Nissan displayed a new concept model named the Hi Cross for a compact SUV.

Officially, Nissan said the Hi Cross offers a look at its new design language in the crossover segment.

However, due to its dimensions and the fact that the Japanese carmaker showed it on both sides of the Atlantic, we believe it may preview a common successor for the X-Trail, sold in Europe, Japan and other parts of the world, and the Rogue that is offered in North America.

Spied: Nissan to Enter 24h Nürburgring Race with Production GT-R Track Pack Edition

Before 2008, the “old” Nürburgring, aka Nordschleife, was a very demanding track deemed too dangerous for Formula 1 racing, but car manufacturers used it for testing purposes and on certain days, any mere mortal could drive his or her car for as many laps as they could afford.

Nissan changed all that by making the 7’29’’ lap time recorded by the new GT-R a key point of its launch campaign. It also sparked a war of words with Porsche and perhaps more importantly, made posting a competitive lap time at the ‘Ring a must for every new sports car.

In the four years since its launch, Nissan has been constantly honing the R35 GT-R, upgrading almost every mechanical part, from the chassis to the suspension and the engine.

This is because Kazutoshi Mizuno, program director of the GT-R development team, believes that no matter how good the car is, “the customer always wants more”. It has also resulted in the 2013MY model cutting 9 seconds off the original lap time.
