Refreshed 2013 Skoda Superb from £18,555 in Britain


About two months before the facelifted for 2013 Skoda Superb liftback and Estate models go on sale in the United Kingdom on 17 July, the Czech automaker released pricing for its flagship model that starts from £18,555 (OTR) for the 1.4-litre TSI 123hp (125PS) S hatch and tops out at £34,430 for the 256hp (260PS) 3.6-liter V6 Estate with AWD and a DSG transmission. Spy Shots: Extra Mild Nip and Tuck for Skoda Superb Estate


If you read our previous scoop story about the subtly facelifted Skoda Superb saloon coming later in 2013, then you won't be surprised at all to learn that VW's successful Czech brand is preparing the same updates for its more practical and roomier Estate sibling.

The exterior revisions will include a lightly massaged front end that is masked over in white tape on this test car with a wider version of Skoda's family grille and some barely noticeable changes to the bumpers and possibly the lights on the final production model.

The Czech carmaker's flagship model in both saloon and estate body styles will receive some mild cosmetic touches on the outside to bring it in line with the rest of the range and in particular the new Rapid and Octavia models. The Mystery of the Flattened Down Skoda Models Solved


A couple of days ago, we showed you a video of two heavy-duty tractors destroying a new Skoda Superb and asked if any of you, our readers, had information on what was going on in this clip. It didn't take long for one of you to solve the mystery.

Carscoop reader Michał Jakóbik emailed us a link to Czech website Autocz that not only explains everything but also includes three more videos of the tractors putting down a Fabia estate, a Yeti crossover and an Octavia Scout.

How to Destroy a Skoda Superb with a Tractor and a Bobcat


Like the person who shared this video on YouTube, we have no idea why these men are destroying what looks like a perfectly good car – a Skoda Superb, to be precise. For all we know it could be a skit from a television show.

Still, that didn’t hold us back from spending close to four minutes watching a backhoe-loader with the help of a skid-steer loader doing their thing on the Czech saloon.

New Skoda Super Combi Outdoor is All Show, No Go


The crossover-ish station wagon craze over at the Volkswagen Group continues with the presentation of the new Skoda Superb Combi Outdoor.

However, unlike the VW Passat Alltrack, the Audi A4 and A6 Allroad and even Skoda's own Octavia Scout, the Superb Combi Outdoor is only about the looks, as it doesn't get a higher ride or a modified suspension nor any protective underbody plates.
