Jaguar to Show Unique Version of the F-Type at Goodwood

Britain's Jaguar will use the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed to premiere an “unique version of Jaguar F-Type convertible sports car”. While some may be tempted to think Jaguar will finally display the F-Type Coupe at the Goodwood hill-climb event, the language used by the UK carmaker is rather ambiguous.

Jaguar say the car is “an exciting new design study based on the Jaguar F-Type convertible sports car”, which should eliminate the production version of the F-Type Coupe.

Loder1899 Cranks Up the Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 S Diesel

Given the popularity of diesel models across most segments in Europe, it's no wonder that many tuners present special packages for oil burners like the Jaguar XF (facelift) Diesel V6 S, which leaves the factory with a 3.0-liter unit rated for 271hp (275PS) and 600Nm (442 lb-ft) of peak torque, and an 8-speed auto turning the rear wheels. MT Drives Jaguar’s 550 HP XFR-S from Sebring to The Circuit of The Americas

Jaguar must not be pleased to have been outdone by BMW with their M5, so they took the XFR and tried to make it match its German rival’s performance. The end result is the XFR-S, and with 550hp on tap, it’s probably Jaguar’s most outrageous road-legal model since the almost failed attempt at making the XJ220 supercar. Read more »

Jaguar Gives XF Minimal Revisions and Efficient Diesel for 2014 Model Year

The Jaguar XF has slowly evolved, from the buggy first generation car, and now yet another set of improvements and changes have been made to it, for the 2014 model-year. We note minor changes in its trim grades, two new paint finish options on the aesthetic side, and a detuned version of the 2.2-liter diesel engine is the main point of interest (for company car drivers, especially).

That’s not because of its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 9.8 seconds, which brings it dangerously close to being slow, because its main attribute is efficiency, and the official numbers are promising.

New Jaguar XFR-S in Depth, Sports a Tuned 542hp Supercharged V8

We've already had the opportunity to show you what the brand-new Jaguar XFR-S looks like before its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show, so now it's time to tell you what lies under its sported up body.

Billed as an "ultra-high performance" version of the XF series, the XFR-S is the fastest and most powerful production sedan in the history of Jaguar.

It makes use of the same souped-up 5.0-liter supercharged V8 as the XKR-S, producing 40hp and 41 lb-ft more torque than the standard XFR's V8 for a total of 542hp (550PS) and 502 lb-ft (680Nm). An 8-speed Quickshift automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddles drives the rear wheels.

Jaguar quotes a zero to 60 mph acceleration time of 4.4 seconds1 (0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds) and an electronically-limited top speed of 186 mph1 (300km/h) – an improvement of 0.3 seconds and 31mph (50km/h) respectively over the plain-Jane XFR.

Scoop: New Jaguar XFR-S Promises to be a Wild Cat

Jaguar's upcoming XFR-S high-performance saloon is fast and powerful and it has no problem showing off its prowess.

Unlike the tamer-looking XFR that gets by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 rated for 503hp (510PS), the flagship "S" model will flaunt its muscle through an aggressive body kit, which as these fresh spy pictures reveal for the very first time, will include an eye-catching rear wing of the sort you usually find on EVOs and STIs and not on Jaguar models…

Spy Shots: Jaguar's New and More Powerful XFR-S Spotted in Production Trim

It's been about a year since our spies captured a mildly modded prototype of what we believed to be at the time an early test mule of a hardcore version of the XFR, much in the likes of the XKR-S.

Now, we can show you the first images of the XFR-S wearing its production body armor, which includes a newly designed front bumper with massive air vents and a lip spoiler, side skirts and a larger boot lid spoiler than the one found on the regular XFR.

Jaguar XF Clay Model gets the Axe…Literally

All automakers create real-life size clay models of their upcoming production and concept models. Most of the times, once they have served their purpose, these prototypes are destroyed under secrecy.

In a eureka moment, Jaguar decided to make something out of the destruction of one of its older XF clay models by filming the designers and sculptors going primitively wild on the prototype and sharing the video with us.

Head past the break to take a look at it.
