Is the All-New Range Rover Sport So Good That It Makes the Range Rover Pointless?

The new Range Rover Sport has the same off-road capabilities as the larger Range Rover upon which it is based, while being quicker and more agile on the road. Moreover, it’s more economical too. So, if the Sport is a good all-round SUV, does this mean that buyers will prefer it over the more expensive Range Rover? Read more »

New Range Rover Sport Chosen as Pikes Peak Pace Car [w/Video]

After having gone up the Pikes Peak hillclimb in 12:35.61 and been called the fastest production vehicle to have done so, the excessively-promoted Range Rover Sport is getting even more coverage, as it has just been announced as the official pace car, and “will open the legendary course to strong international entry at this Sunday’s 91st running of the racing venue.” Read more »

EVO Does First Review of All-New 2014 Range Rover Sport

I never really understood the purpose of old Range Rover Sport, with its dash set so high inside the cabin, that they were forced to paint a black line on the lower part of the windscreen to mask it off. I never got why they used Discovery underpinnings, and still called it a Range Rover, despite the fact that anybody who has been in/driven one of those will tell you there is a big difference in the way they feel/make you feel. New Range Rover Sport Sets New Pikes Peak Records for Production Vehicles [w/Video]

One could expect that many series production sports cars would try their luck on Pikes Peak, but not a Range Rover. However, automakers these days use any opportunity they can to promote their new products, and this is exactly what Land Rover has done with the new generation of the Range Rover Sport. Read more »

Range Rover Turned into Stretch Limousine with a Strange Hump on its Roof

The previous generation Land Rover Range Rover is not exactly a car that lacks interior space or luxury. However, there are people in Dubai that beg to differ, as the following video proves.

The footage shows a very long Range Rover – probably at least 1 meter (39 inches) longer than the standard model – sitting in the parking lot of a hotel in Dubai. The driver of the luxury SUV turned limousine is separated from the passenger area, which is hidden from curious eyes by the darkened windows.

Learn How to Operate an Old Land Rover With This Period Video Guide

The new Range Rover represents the culmination of decades-worth of off-roading experience wrapped up in a raised limousine body and filled with electronic gizmos and leather. That is all good and does genuinely represent progress, but for some, pushing a button is nowhere near as satisfying as pulling a lever and getting that mechanical feeling going – you actually feel like you’re doing something. MT Goes Off-Road in the New Range Rover and Mercedes’ G-Wagen

The 2002 to 2012 Range Rover was such a capable SUV, that one wondered how they could really improve the formula for the all-new generation model, which made its debut in September of 2012, at the Paris motor show. Now that a few months have passed, they are starting to be seen parked up along boulevards of posh neighborhoods all over the world – seeing one is still an event, but as with the old model, it will eventually become commonplace. In and Out in 007 Minutes: Daniel Craig Pockets $1Million for Range Rover Gig

As you’ve probably seen from one of our earlier reports, actor Daniel Craig (better known as the face of James Bond), was the surprise celebrity that unveiled the new Range Rover Sport at a VIP event in Midtown Manhattan on the eve of the 2013 New York Auto Show.

You will say that this is just another PR exercise in which an automaker uses a celebrity to unveil a new model. Well, yes and no. Yes, it is a PR stunt, but it’s not “just another” endorsement.

Shaken, Not Stirred: Land Rover Releases Five Videos of the New Range Rover Sport

By now, you’ve probably read all the details about the brand new Range Rover Sport that was unveiled during a special presentation on the eve of the New York Auto Show.

Just like its bigger brother, the Sport switched from a steel body-on-frame to an aluminum monocoque. Thus, in spite of being noticeably bigger than its predecessor it has shed a lot of weight (up to 420 kg / 925 pounds), improving both its driving dynamics and its green credentials

What the Bling? Ever Dream of a Coin-Wrapped Range Rover or G-Class?

Have you ever heard of cars wrapped in coins? Neither did we, but in the oil-rich Middle East, this is one of the most peculiar customizing techniques for auto enthusiasts. Forget wrapping your car in gold foil, everybody can do that. This coin-wrapping stuff is much rarer and harder to do.

The Range Rover in the video below uploaded by YouTube user Patrick3331 has no less than 57,412 coins attached to its bodywork!

Four Generations of Range Rover Luxury SUVs Come Together

The Range Rover series is regarded by many as the forefather of today's luxury SUVs with a rich and rather interesting history spanning more than four decades.

Naturally, much has changed since the introduction of the first generation model in 1970, which began its life as a mostly utilitarian three-door SUV and it wasn't until Land Rover presented the five-door version with added amenities such as air-conditioning and…carpet that it began taking shape as a luxury model.

2013 Range Rover HSE Riding on Vossen's Concave 22-Inch Rims [w/Video]

The creative minds at Land Rover may have found a way to shave up to nearly 1,000 pounds (~450kg, depending on the engine and equipment grade) on the new 2013 Range Rover over the model it replaces, but the premium SUV continues to have a very large footprint and as such, there's no denying that it looks better with bigger wheels. The all-aluminum Range Rover has been designed from scratch and will be available in Europe with three powertrains: the 3.0-liter TDV6 and the 4.4-liter SDV8 diesels, as well as the top-of the-Range (pun intended) supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that packs 503HP and accelerates the luxury model from 0-60 mph in just 5.1 seconds.

While many have and will continue to focus their attention on the sleek evolution of the Range Rover's traditional looks and the modernized interior that is influenced by the Evoque, it's what you don't see that truly makes the fourth generation of the British SUV stand out from its predecessors.
