Hyundai Tosses the Wraps Off Redesigned 2014 Tucson ix in Korea

Hyundai has followed a slightly different path with the redesign of its South Korea-market Tucson ix compared to the European version of its compact SUV that is named ix35 and which we saw in facelift form at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.

Whereas the European ix35 features the same grille (re-trimmed) as the pre-facelift model, and which is similar to the one used on the current North American Tucson, the South Korean model gains a flashier nosepiece with chromed slats inspired by the new Santa Fe series.

Hyundai Apologizes for Mocking Suicide in Hyundai ix35 Commercial [w/Video]

Following Ford’s apologies related to its India advertising prints featuring tied-up women, it is now Hyundai’s turn to apologize for the work of an overseas advertising company.

Hyundai ix35 is the First Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle to Enter Series Production

At the Paris Auto Show, Hyundai announced that it will begin production of the ix35 Fuel Cell crossover (also know as the Tucson) at its Ulsan plant in South Korea. The initial projection is 1,000 units by 2015 and a limited mass production of 10,000 units after that.

The ix35 Fuel Cell features a fuel cell stack that converts hydrogen into electricity, which charges the lithium polymer battery that powers the electric motor. It is a zero-emissions vehicle since the only thing that it emits is water vapor.
