That's a Costly Oops: Aston Martin Rear Ends Bugatti Veyron in Moscow

Jeez; where's a dashboard camera when you really need it? Well, for now, the only piece of evidence we have about this extremely costly accident between an Aston Martin (reportedly a DB9, but we wouldn't be surprised if it's another model) and a Bugatti Veyron is the single photo seen here. NCE Decapitates Acura TL Sedan, Proposes to do the Same to AM Rapide and Hyundai Equus

To be frank, I never understood the allure or the reasoning, for that matter, behind the aftermarket conversion of four-door sedans to convertibles, but I guess each to his own taste.

While we're on the subject of taste (or the lack thereof…), the drop-top specialists over at Newport Convertible Engineering (NEC) from Placentia, California, have sharpened their scalpels on the roof of an Acura TL sedan turning it into a four-door cabriolet with a center roll-bar to keep things in place. The gold stripes running down the middle are the cherry icing to this strangely flavored cake.

Aston Martin Extends Ford Engine Supply Deal, Report Says

Aston Martin and Ford have reportedly agreed to extend their engine supply contract for another five years. According to the The Sunday Times, the new deal will see the U.S. carmaker supply Aston Martin with V8 and V12 engines made at its Cologne plant in Germany.

The deal may also mean Aston Martin will keep the VH platform for at least another five years. Aston Martin’s most important models – the Vantage, DB9 and Vanquish – are all based on derivatives of the VH platform.

Audi E-Tron Quattro Triumphs at Le Mans [w/Videos]

This year’s edition of the Le Mans 24H race will not necessarily be remembered for the actual racing part, because it has been marred by the tragic death of Aston Martin driver Allan Simonsen, 34. Still, even after the announcement of his passing, the Aston Martin team drove on, eventually taking third place in the GTE Pro class, dedicating their victory to Simonsen who was racing in the GT class. Aston Martin's Danish Driver Allan Simonsen Dies in Le Mans Crash

For most of us, motor racing is something we experience from the side of the track, looking on into the distance waiting for the cars to come by, then almost snapping your neck as you look the other way trying to keep them in view for as long as possible… Far fewer of us ever get the chance to race at the highest echelons, and those that do, are considered fortunate.

Sadly, it is a line of work with among the most dangerous in the world, and now it has taken its toll yet again, this time claiming the life 34 year-old Danish driver Allan Simonsen, who was involved in a crash close to the start of this year’s Le Mans 24H race (around 10 minutes in).

New V12 Vantage S Does 0-60 in 3.7 Seconds, Fastest Aston After the One-77

It seems that today is the day for announcing acceleration times, as shortly after GM's release on the new 2014 Corvette Stingray, which does 0-60mph (96km/h) in 3.8 seconds, Aston Martin confirmed a similar set of figures for its new 565-hp V12 Vantage S. Read more »

Harris Pits Jaguar F-Type Against Porsche 911S Cabriolet and Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster

The Jaguar F-Type is a car that the British brand has great expectations, otherwise they wouldn’t have called it the spiritual successor to the legendary E-Type. Nevertheless, this is not the 1960s, and the F-Type has to stand up against much tougher competitors than the E-Type had to.

At least for the F-Type V8 S model that is powered by a 495-hp V8, the most feared competitor is the world’s default sports car, the Porsche 911 - in its Carrera S Cabriolet iteration. Chris Harris took both for a spin, adding the old and “slow” Aston V8 Vantage Roadster to the mix, and reached some interesting conclusions.

Aston Martin Blows the Top Off New $300,000 Vanquish Volante Convertible [Photos & Video]

If you like the new Vanquish and have $300,000 to spare (actually, a little less at $297,995, to be precise - just as long as you avoid the temptation of ticking any option boxes) and prefer to see the sun instead of the coupe's headliner, Aston Martin has just presented the open top version dubbed Volante.

Among the many features highlighted by Aston Martin is the fact that the new Vanquish Volante is the first fully carbon fibre-skinned and simultaneously, stiffest convertible model in the brand’s 100-year history. The full height windscreens is another first for an open top Aston.

Matt Farah Explains the Aston Martin Vanquish Experience

Aston Martins are behind many exotic brands when it comes to technology and engines, but what they are good at more than makes up for that. For instance, in my opinion, the design of the new Vanquish is their best effort since they first drew up the modern DB9 (still a reference point in terms of clean GT/coupe looks). In addition, it’s hugely customizable because it’s hand-made, and the reworked V12 engine now sounds better than ever. Read more »

Autocar Gets the Keys to Bertone's Aston Martin Jet 2+2 Shooting Brake

Two of the current coolest fast-estates are solely one-offs, with neither getting the official confirmation for production, despite looking very promising. I am talking about the Aston Martin Jet 2+2 shooting brake and Porsche's Panamera Sports Turismo concept. Read more »

Aston Martin's New 565-HP V12 Vantage S Replaces V12 Vantage [w/Video]

It looks like the teaser video Aston Martin released a few days ago was a preview of the new 565-hp V12 Vantage S. With 55 more horsepower than the V12 Vantage it replaces, the V12 Vantage S is described by Aston Martin as the brand's fastest road-going model – since the One-77 hypercar isn't produced any more.

Powered by the new 565hp (573 PS) AM28 6.0-liter V12 engine, it is capable of reaching 205 mph (330 km/h). Fitted with the latest generation Bosch engine management, the unit delivers 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque at 5,750 rpm, up from 570 Nm/420 lb-ft in the V12 Vantage. Low rev torque, measured at just 1,000 rpm, is also up from 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) to 510 Nm (376 lb-ft).

The Aston Martin CC100 Speedster was on display at the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza this past weekend, where visitors had the chance not only to admire its stunning looks, but also to hear the roar of its 6.0-liter V12 engine - and capture it on film so the rest of us can admire it as well. Aston Martin Teases New Model, Can You Guess What It Is?

The festivities and special models dedicated to Aston Martin's centenary continue with yet another teaser for a new car, bits and parts of which are shown in a video that was released today.

In the clip, we see the outline of a coupe model and a collection of images detailing certain elements of the car such as the hood vents, center stack, and headlamps. To spare you from entering game-mode with the pause button, we did the work for you by attaching the screen shots below.

This Is It: Aston’s One-Off CC100 Centenary Special [w/Video]

Aston Martin has lifted the veil off its CC100 Speedster concept car that marks the company’s 100th birthday. The CC100 Speedster, which stands for Concept Car 100 years, is also a tribute to the Le Mans-winning 1959 Aston Martin DBR1 racecar, from which it adopts the classic two-seat speedster shape.

Built on the platform of the V12 Vantage, the CC100 can also be considered a tribute to Aston’s smallest V12 model that will soon be discontinued. Last but not least, Aston Martin says the study hints at potential future design direction.

Aston Martin Teases "Very Special Concept" to Be Revealed on May 19

This year, Aston Martin is celebrating a century since the company was founded, so it is only natural that the automaker has something special in store for us. It might as well be this “very special concept” that the company mentions in a short video on its official YouTube account.

Called “Aston Martin - Past, Present, Future - 19th May 2013”, the 26-second video debuts with some pictures of the legendary Aston Martin DBR1, the car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959.

Aston Martin Looking to Sign Tech Supply Deal with Daimler

You may remember some older rumors that suggested that Aston Martin was going to sign a deal to receive engines from AMG, in order to cut spending and become more competitive, but ever since we first heard about it in December of last year, there has been no talk of this anywhere…

Now, though, according to Bloomberg, Aston representatives are in talks with Daimler for initiation of “supply and technical cooperation agreements as the U.K. sports-car maker seeks to reduce spending on developing models.”

Aston Martin V12 Vantage Reportedly Reaches the End of the Line

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage is a ludicrous car. If you've even seen one up close, you’ll know it is quite short, very wide and equally low – it’s a sports car with an insanely large engine for its dimensions, and squat purposeful proportions.

The fact that AM even made it at all is surprising and impressive enough, and even more so that they managed to produce a total of 1,200 units from 2009 to 2013 (200 more than they originally planned to build, means that the likelihood of you seeing one blasting off from a set of traffic lights is just that little bit greater.

Spied: Aston Martin Takes New Vanquish Volante Out for Running on the 'Ring

Over the past years, the Nürburgring has become something of a Holy Grail for automakers that want to hone their upcoming cars, and in some instances, even brag about their lap times.

In its most recent outing to the Nordschleife circuit, Aston Martin brought along the drop-top version of its new Vanquish, which, like all convertible models from the British brand, will bear the traditional "Volante" name.
