Suzuki Swift Gains 4x4 Version with a Crossover Flair


The current Suzuki Swift's lineup has become a little more interesting after the addition of a new 4x4 model for the UK market. Already available in Japan as well as several European Countries including Germany and Switzerland, the new Swift 4x4 goes on sale in Britain this month with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and five doors in either SZ3 or SZ4 grades. New Special Edition Suzuki Swift SZ-L Launched in the UK


After premiering alongside the new Swift Sport SZ-R at last month's Autosport International, Suzuki's tamer Special Edition Swift SZ-L is now available for sale in the UK on the brand's recently extended VAT free promotion until the 31st of March, with prices set at £10,599 for three door model and £11,016 for five door variant. Suzuki Shows New Limited Edition Swift Sport SZ-R Ahead of Autosport International


Suzuki will be attending the first major motoring event of the year in Britain, the 2013 Autosport International that opens tomorrow at the Birmingham's NEC for the press and from January 12 through 13 for the public, where it will unveil several new special edition automobiles and motorcycles.

Today, we learned about two of them, the new limited production Swift Sport SZ-R with a 1.6-liter petrol unit and the Swift SZ-L powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine.

Suzuki to Bring New Pocket-Rocket Swift Sport Concept to the Sydney Motor Show


Even though Suzuki has already presented a spicy concept of the Swift Sport at the 2011 Geneva Salon, as well as the toned-down, final production model powered by a 1.6-liter petrol engine delivering 134hp (100kW / 136PS), the Japanese marque has prepared another study for the 2012 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney next week (October 19 to 28).

Suzuki tells us that the Swift Sport is a one-off concept designed by the brand's chief engineer Naoyuki Takeuchi.

Volkswagen Abandons Appeal Against Suzuki and the Use of the GTi Moniker


The Volkswagen Group has put to rest an appeal of a court ruling in a brand infringement case against Suzuki regarding its use of the GTi nameplate on the sportiest version of the Swift hatchback – not because it wanted to, but evidently, because it had no chance of winning the case.

The dispute began back in 2004 when the German automaker challenged an application granted to Suzuki to use the GTi moniker and took the Japanese brand to court.

Maruti Suzuki Transforms the Swift into the Ertiga MPV for the Indian Market


As India's best-selling brand with nearly 700,000 deliveries and over 40 percent of the market in 2011, Maruti Suzuki wants to cover all the important segments, including Multi-Purpose Vehicles or MPVs, which currently account for around 10 percent of the country's total car sales.

For this purpose and after adding a tiny boot to the Swift to create the Dezire sedan, Maruti Suzuki has now turned the hatchback model into an MPV and called it the new Ertiga.

New Special Edition Suzuki Swift Attitude, Only for the UK


A more stylish version of the latest generation Suzuki Swift has been launched in Britain. The new Swift Attitude follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, albeit this time, it's available as a five door as well as three door for the first time.

Scheduled to go on sale in the UK on April 2, production of the new Attitude is limited to 500 units with prices set at £10,750 for the three-door version and £11,220 for the five-door model.
