Fresh Details on the New Nissan Qashqai that Debuts in November


The ultra-popular (in Europe) Nissan Qashqai crossover, one of the Japanese automaker’s most successful mainstream models, is going to be replaced with an all-new generation for 2014. Set to be revealed in November of this year, the completely redesigned Qashqai will make its way to showroom floors next year, and it has been announced that it will be a completely different-looking machine. Nissan’s Qashqai Crossover Gets 360 Edition, Priced from £19,945 in the UK


Nissan has just added a new version to its Qashqai and Qashqai+2 five- and seven-seater compact crossovers' range. Named the 360 Edition, it is available in all engine and transmission options and will go on sale in Europe this month.

The 360 gets its name from the Around View Monitor, a system that uses four cameras to give drivers a 360-degree “helicopter view” of their vehicle.

Nissan Qashqai's Steering Wheel Comes Off in Driver’s Hands in Finland [w/Video]


Kari Alentola is a camera operator working for the Yle TV station in Helsinki, Finland. Last Thursday, he was driving a Qashqai+2, the LWB, seven-seat version of Nissan’s compact SUV on the way to an assignment when the steering wheel simply…dropped off in his hands!

The car was barely run-in, with only 500 km (310 miles) on the odometer when this potentially dangerous incident occurred. Luckily, the car was stationary when it happened.

"While stopped at the traffic light in front of the Parliament building, I was adjusting my position in my seat lightly and took hold of the steering wheel for support. Suddenly, it fell into my lap and was just hanging by some wires", Alentola told Yle TV.

Superchips Develops a Firmware Upgrade for Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCi


The diesel-powered Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCi is at Superchip's center of attention as the British tuning brand has created an ECU remap to boost the crossover model's performance.

In factory trim, the Qashqai's Renault-sourced 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel develops a peak output of 108bhp (110PS) at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 240Nm (177 lb-ft).
