Renault Reminds Us How Practical Their Twizy EV Can Be With New Promos

Many aspects of the Renault Twizy are less than satisfactory, like the range, price and unavoidable battery lease costs. However, if you can learn to live with those, driving a Twizy could be better than riding a scooter, which is what Renault is trying to provide some competition to with their smallest EV. Renault Uses Uninspired Ads to Promote Its New Practical Offerings

There are so many ways in which a video ad for a practical affordable vehicle can be made, but it seems that at Renault, having people put in or move out various objects is more than enough.

Sure, it highlights the practical side of these affordable vehicles well, but those in the market for one are already expecting that so it is a bit redundant – it can’t be that hard to make something which is both informative and entertaining to watch with the kind of ad wizardry that goes on behind the scenes.

Renault Subtly Updates the Koleos, Gains New Grille and Multimedia System [w/Videos]

Renault has released a mildly revised Renault Koleos at the International Buenos Aires Motor Show in Argentina. Renault says its crossover model now features the brand’s latest identity, but the changes are rather small compared to the facelifted model launched in 2011.

The most obvious modification is the redesigned V-shaped grille that has also received a larger rhombus logo. The rest of the front end is virtually unchanged, as is the rear, with the Koleos only gaining redesigned two-tone wheels, a chrome finish for the side protective strips and a new body color called Ebony Brown.

Renault Clio RS 200 EDC Drag Races Predecessor and Peugeot 208 GTI

When you’re buying a relatively affordable hot hatch, the sheer amount of performance you are offered is hugely important, especially if you are the kind of person who really likes his or her car, and wants everybody to know just how much.

Currently, the Renault Clio RS 200 EDC, with a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine is the king of the supermini-based hot hatches, when it comes to how much of its power it can put to the ground.

Sebastian Vettel Takes the Zoe and Twizy Renault Sport F1 for a Spin

Being a Formula One driver comes with a lot of PR responsibilities, and world champion Sebastian Vettel is no exception. Aside from the Red Bull events, the German pilot also has to do PR work for Renault, the F1 team’s engine supplier, and for title sponsor Infiniti.

Considering the latest media event involved Vettel driving the Renault Zoe electric car and the one-off Twizy Renault Sport F1, we can’t say that is an ordeal. Especially having the opportunity to drive the bonkers KERS-equipped Twizy, must have been a pleasant experience for Vettel.

Renault Explains Philosophy Behind 320PS Twin'Run Concept

Renault has expanded its operations in recent years, building everything from electric cars with tandem seating to mid-size saloons with V6 engines and even crossovers/SUVs. However, the thing they are most famous for is making great small fast cars, and sadly, the latest Clio RS seems to stray away from that, if we are to believe what we read/watch in the reviews. Ford Fiesta ST vs Peugeot 208 GTi vs Renault Clio RS in Autoexpress Test

There has not been a greater time in recent years for purchasing a relatively affordable, yet fun and efficient hot hatch. We made a list of all of them here, which includes the three cars reviewed together by British magazine AutoExpress: Ford Fiesta ST, Peugeot 208 GTi and Renault Clio RS. Read more »

Renault's Twin'Run Concept is a 320HP Pocket Rocket Previewing Next Twingo [56 Pics & Video]

Following the reveal of the Twin’Z study last month, Renault strikes back with a more hardcore, three-door version called the Twin’Run. It’s not entirely new for our eyes, as the car was scooped in March during the filming of a promo clip in Madrid.

However, now we have all the official details and photos to share, as Renault displayed the concept in Monaco, where the Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place this Sunday.

Watch the Renault Twizy RS F1 Beat Two Megane RS in Drag Race

The Twizy Renault Sport F1 concept not only looks bonkers, it also goes like crazy! Fitted with a Formula 1-derived KERS system that instantly increases power from 17 hp to 97 hp, it is able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h or 62mph in 6 seconds, just like the Megane RS 265.

However, if you watch the video below, you’ll be under the impression that the Twizy concept is even faster than a Megane hot-hatch, given its impressive acceleration off the line (and the not very motivated Megane drivers, one may add).

HonestJohn Has Plenty of Hat Room in the New Renault Captur

I've expressed my deprecating opinion on front-wheel drive crossovers, seeing them as pointless and mere marketing tricks specifically designed to sell more hatchbacks, but I can’t not like the new Renault Captur, simply because it is handsome to behold – it is one of the prettier rhombus-badged cars of recent years. Renault's New Zoe Electric Hatch Video Reviewed

The two main downsides of buying and owning an electric vehicle are still the high acquisition cost and limited range, and while the Renault Zoe is not a perfect car, it at least crosses one of those negatives off the list. We are talking about the price, which, at least in the UK, is very reasonable, and after factoring in the hefty government rebate, the all-electric Zoe is yours from £13,650 (€16,040). Read more »

Renault Pranks Customers with "Va Va Voom" Button that Brings Paris in Front of Their Eyes

Following Pepsi’s Jeff Gordon commercial, in which a salesman was (supposedly) punk’d by the NASCAR driver, we now have another test drive prank, this time organized by Renault UK. However, there’s a different scenario here, as the salesman is the one pranking customers, not the other way round. Read more »

Scoop: New Renault TwinFun Concept Looks Like a Modern Day 5 Turbo [w/Videos]

A never-before seen Renault concept named TwinFun or TwinRun (we can't make out the fifth letter on the name placed on the tailgate), has been captured on camera while it was being filmed for what we assume to be a promo clip in the city of Madrid in Spain.

While you will be forgiven to mistake it for a Gallic Fiat 500, the presence of the mid-engine Renault 5 Turbo from the early 1980s in one of the pictures explains where the French carmaker drew its inspiration for the three-door hatch.

New Renault Clio RS 200 Pitted Against Toyota GT86

This is one of the first proper reviews of the new Renault Clio RS 200 EDC, and it comes courtesy of Autocar magazine, which pitted it against the Toyota GT86, just to spice things up a bit. Reviewer Steve Sutcliffe drives the new Clio RS, and praises it for its composed handling and very high levels of grip, as well as its refinement and comfort levels. Read more »

Check Out the Renault Clio RS 200's Launch Control

The Renault Clio RS 200 has been in the limelight in recent months, and while we've pretty much covered most aspects, from pricing to its design and performance figures, one neat feature that the car comes with is launch control,  which doesn't seem to be mentioned that often, not even by Renault itself. Sounds Like GT-R Spirit: Why the New Renault Clio RS Sound App is Just Lame

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like but, although I don’t believe in the “second shooter” theory or that those white lines in the sky are something other than contrails, I have a nagging thought that, in the past few months, some of the most charismatic CEOs in the automotive industry have been replaced by clones.

Nissan’s Carlos Ghosn is idolized in Japan for turning the ailing carmaker around; he even starred in a manga. Forming an alliance with Renault was also a very successful movement, allowing for parts sharing and cost-cutting while giving each carmaker its own distinct character and, in the process, churning out some pretty driver-oriented cars such as the Nissan GT-R or the Renault Sport Megane and Clio.

Another Shotgun Ride, This Time in the Renault Clio RS 200 EDC

Having witnessed a test drive of the all-new Clio RS, done by Renault itself, and watched the few driving videos they put out, we now get one-step closer to a review with yet another shotgun ride video, and by that we mean a Renault test driver taking someone out for a ride. We already covered a similar video done for the Peugeot 208 GTi, so now it's the turn of the even-more-hotly-anticipated Clio RS. Read more »

Renault Itself Test Drives the New Clio RS 200 EDC

The all-new Clio RS 200 EDC is a very important car for Renault, and the French manufacturer is keen to point out the improvements over the previous generation car with an in-house test drive of its hot hatch. It is of course a biased review of the Clio, but since the first customer cars are set to be delivered in mid-March, this is all we have to go on until the car becomes available to the motoring press. Renault Drops First Teaser Image and Video of New Captur Small Crossover

It has been close to two years since Renault impressed us with the athletic three-door Captur Concept at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, and even though we're not going to see that car on the road anytime soon, the French brand has borrowed its name and certain design elements to create a new sub-compact crossover model.
