Lamborghini Veneno Spotted Out in the Open, Hear its V12 Roar

Arguably, the most visually-striking of the three big supercars revealed at the Geneva motor show, the Lamborghini Veneno made quite an impact, and was one of the highlights of the Swiss event. Up until now, we had not seen the car out in the open, and the previous video we showed of it was just more of the same – motor show-floor stand footage/photos. Read more »

Listen to the Lamborghini Veneno Firing Up its 740HP V12

Lamborghini employees recently enthralled a number of visitors at the Geneva Auto Show (March 7 to 17) when they fired up the new limited production Veneno's 6.5-liter V12 engine.

Thankfully for us, the crew from YouTube channel 'SellerieCimes' was on hand to film the melodious mechanical sounds from the twelve-cylinder unit of the Aventador-based supercar.

Lamborghini Veneno and Ferrari LaFerrari get the Mini-Me Cute Treatment

If Carscoops readers' opinions are anything to go by, then the Ferrari LaFerrari is the sexiest new supercar of the Geneva Motor Show having amassed 52 percent of the votes in our poll (at the time we wrote this post) compared to 16 percent for the Lamborghini Veneno and 24 percent for the McLaren P1, while 6 percent disliked all three models. Geneva Show Hypercar Poll: Ferrari LaFerrari vs. Lamborghini Veneno vs. McLaren P1

In a few years’ time, the 2013 Geneva Motor Show will be remembered as the venue in which a new breed of supercar was introduced to the world: the hybrid with more than 900HP and emissions less than a conventional one with, say, less than half the firepower.

Both Ferrari and McLaren chose the Swiss event to unveil their new hypercars. Since the latter was practically identical to last year’s concept while the Italians kept their cards close to their chest, the prancing horse premiere was the most eagerly awaited.

Take a Close Look at Lamborghini's Ultra-Exclusive Veneno Through 74 Photos and a Video

As you have probably heard/read by now, Lamborghini is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and, apart from the various events it has organized, the Italian company decided to give itself, and its fans, a present.

This “present” is the Italian Batmobile Veneno – an outrageously styled, 750HP supercar with an exorbitant price of €3 million (US$3.9 million). No need to reach for your wallet, though, because all three examples that will be manufactured have already been sold.

Lamborghini Veneno and Its Huge Rear Wing Officially Revealed, See it on Video

While we can't really call the Aventador or the Gallardo 'conservatively styled', they definitely are compared to Lamborghini's Geneva showstopper – the Veneno, a car made to celebrate the Italian firm's 50th anniversary.

They call it a racing car for the road, and while that concept may have morphed into a cliché over the years, we can see where they're coming from, because the Veneno looks like a stylized LeMans prototype with turn signals.

While we're waiting for Lamborghini to get us up to date on the new Veneno, we discovered a fresh set of high-resolution images of the limited run supercar, including the first photos of the interior.

Designed to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th birthday, the Veneno is an Aventador LP700-4 spin-off featuring a completely different body and a redesigned interior with the same racecar-like feel of the exterior.

New Lamborghini Veneno Leaked, It's a $4.7 Million V12 Special [Update III]

This is it; the new special supercar that Lamborghini promised to reveal at the Geneva Motor Show on March 5 to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and which we rightly assumed was pictured in a single teaser image we found on Facebook this weekend.

These print screens are real and at least one of them was sourced from The Sunday Times newspaper, which also had an online article that was swiftly removed.
