Frisky Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX MR Gets POV Test Drive

While the crew over at Winding Road Magazine usually specializes in doing POV test drives for the more interesting of new cars, occasionally feature a nice older ride, to reminds us of just how toned down cars are becoming nowadays.

Compare virtually any modern car with its older self, and you will begin to see that the inevitable progress of the industry has rendered its dashboard soft, along with its responses to your inputs. The same applies to sounds – I don’t really understand why all cars are getting so quiet (well, I see the point for family rides, but not for sports cars), but it seems to be an industry obsession.

What a Tool! Infiniti FX Driver Hits and Runs Away on Russian Highway

Things really have a tendency to get out of hand in Russia, and a highway crash turns into a felony as an Infiniti FX driver rams a Mitsubishi Colt from behind, launching it into the inner guard rail, causing it to crash quite severely. However, the luxurious Japanese SUV is not seriously damaged, and it speeds away from the scene, disappearing in the distance. Read more »

SUVs Ahoy! Mitsubishi Pajero Stuck in Sea Needs a Helping Hand

Fortunately, an automobile stuck in sea is a very uncommon scenario. When it happens, though, it calls for a special solution.

From what we understand, this incident appears to have taken place at St Ives Bay on the Atlantic coast of north-west Cornwall in the United Kingdom (we could be wrong about that; if we are, tell us in the comments) when a Mitsubishi Pajero owned by a rental boat company got stuck in the sea.

Out of Control SUV on Two Wheels Narrowly Misses Smart Coupe but Ploughs into Camera Car

Usually, the bigger a vehicle is, the safer it is, and this it is the reason behind soccer moms buying large minivans and SUVs to make the classic school run.

However, what soccer moms and others who buy SUVs and MPVs for safety reasons don’t really realize is that, while they may carry more inertia during a head-on crash, for example, and will dislodge the other smaller vehicle and let it absorb more of the damage, the center of gravity is considerably higher than in an average sedan, and the vehicle is harder to control and more prone to crashing in the first place.

Mom Takes 900HP Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X for a Ride and She Loves it!

If you're travelling with your mother in a fast ride and you unleash a few hundred ponies on the asphalt, there's a good chance you're going to end up with a tender slap on the head and/or some motherly advice about how to act like a gentleman behind the wheel.

There are some mothers, though, that might actually have a little bit of fun in such a scenario. In fact, this mom, not only had a blast riding shotgun in a heavily modified Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X with a stick shift and a whopping 900-horsepower, but she also took the driver's seat and went for a power ride…

Consumer Reports Not Really Thrilled About New Mitsubishi Outlander

The Mitsubishi Outlander has never been the kind of car one buys because of burning desire, but it was always competent and one of the better vehicles to drive in its class. Now, the all-new model, which is radically different from its predecessor, takes center stage, as Mitsubishi tries to keep itself relevant in the current context of the automotive industry, both in the US and the rest of the world.

The new 2014 Outlander needs to be very good, but if we are to listen to Consumer Reports (CR), which recently took it for a drive, things aren't looking up.

Woman Tips Her Mitsubishi on Two Wheels

It seems that parked cars are really good ramps for launching other vehicles into the air. Judging by the videos we've seen, it's usually hatchbacks which offer the best lift. This new video shows how a woman in a red Mitsubishi (or so the badge suggests) hatchback gets some impressive two-wheel driving action. However, she does not topple the car over because it gently balances itself out using the trailer of a passing truck… Read more »

Is 908 AWHP the Most Powerful Mitsubishi EVO X in the World?

One upon a time, the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO series had one of the most powerful 2.0-liter inline-four engines in the world, today, not so much, as the current base model's 291hp unit has been surpassed even by Mercedes-Benz and its A45 AMG performance hatch that delivers an output of 355hp (360PS). Just Two Slammed Mitsubishi Lancer EVO Xs Rolling Around

Does every car video have to be about (legal or…illegal) quarter mile runs, drift stunts and strange accidents? Of course not, where's the fun in that?

One nicely directed clip that recently captured our attention on YouTube simply shows two friends in their road-hugging Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X performance sedans going out for a ride with the appropriate music heard in the background.

New Mitsubishi Mirage to be Offered in the States with a Three-Cylinder Engine from Fall 2013

The car that Mitsubishi believes will help it grow again and increase its sales on a global basis and especially in developing markets, the new Mirage, will join the brand's range in the United States next year, but we already knew that.

What a report from Car and Driver adds is that the Japanese carmaker's no-frills sub-compact will be revealed in U.S.-specification at the 2013 New York Auto Show in April, and that it will go on sale in September of the same year.

Now That's One Lucky Son of a Gun – The Middle East Edition

When they're not practicing the illegal and reckless driving art of hagwalah, some motorists in the Middle East hone their skills in another and equally dangerous road sport, that of driving on two wheels.

While our readers have surely seen footage of Middle Eastern drivers tip their rides on their sides before, in this specific video, we witness one of the many, many things that can go wrong when amateurs perform these kind of stunts on public roads.

Watch Real Life Mad Max Terrorize an Australian Driver During an Extreme Road Rage Incident

With all the incidents filmed on Russian roads, (you can head over to Jalopnik for some of the best dashcam clips of 2012 – we're preparing our own list, too), we rarely say this about a road rage incident, but WOW.

There's road rage, there's psychotic and then there's "this windshield ain't going to stop me punching your face" kind of rage, which makes Mad Max and Toecutter look like Care Bears…

We only get to hear and watch one side of the story in this incident as the perpetrator has yet to be interviewed, or captured by the police, for that matter, but here's what went on.

Another Mitsubishi 3000GT Dressed Up as a Ferrari Pops Up on eBay

Well, well, well, imagine that; a second Mitsubishi 3000GT coupe that has been converted to look like a Ferrari F430, though, we must say, we're having trouble seeing the resemblance.

Perhaps we're missing something here, but putting aside the air scoops positioned on top of the rear fenders and to some extent, the door mirrors, the rest of the cosmetic enhancements don't remind us of the F430.

Watch a Rally Driver Reach Speeds of up to 227km/h – 141MPH in a Forest

Sure Formula 1 and NASCAR drivers reach much higher average speeds than their motorsport counterparts in the World Rally Championship and other rally challenges, but it's one thing racing on a professional circuit with all the safety precautions that come with it, and another to do so on unpaved paths in the wild.

If you are willing to let your ears take some abuse (or just lower down the volume if you don't feel up to the task), you can enjoy a crazy ride in a Mitsubishi EVO IX R4 racer driven by Beppo Harrach at the Waldviertel Rallye in Austria.

Mitsubishi Releases Fresh Videos of New JDM Mirage Subcompact

With the new Mirage set to go on sale in Japan at the end of August, Mitsubishi has already begun a promotional campaign for its subcompact model that will be available exclusively as a five-door hatchback.

"OMG" Doesn't Even Begin to Describe this Amazing Mitsubishi EVO Rally Save

Carscoop reader Maciej sure captured our attention with his email tip titled "My Hero, OMG!" – and very rightfully so as you will soon discover for yourself.

We don't know how much of the fantastic save is attributed to luck and how much to the driver's talent, but what the man behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO accomplished during the 21st edition of the Rzeszowski Rally in Poland (August 9 to 11) is not something you see every day.

Mitsubishi Lancer EVO Driver Tumbles Down the Mountain at 2012 Pikes Peak Hill Climb

No one really needs to tell you the dangers of participating in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb but if you insist, here's proof from a terrifying accident that was captured on film during this weekend's race.

Rookie Pikes Peak driver Jeremy Foley and his co-pilot Yuri Kouznetsov were racing their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 down the hill at around Mile 16 when they took a corner too fast and too open with the car sliding on the gravel before it tumbled down the mountain.

Near Miss for One Motorcyclist, Direct Hit for Another

Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. In the first video we see the rider of a BMW R1200 GS cruising on the road somewhere in the States (we couldn't pinpoint the location) when the driver of a Mitsubishi Eclipse coupe makes a completely unnecessary wide turn just missing the bike by inches.

The shaken BMW motorcyclist then turns around, catches up with the female driver of the Eclipse, and asks her if she learned her lesson, to which she replies "yes, I did" and apologizes.
