Recall for Alfa 8C, Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo, and Subaru Outback and Legacy


The beginning of the week brings two separate and unrelated recall actions, the first from Alfa Romeo and Maserati, and the second from Subaru.

Maserati's North American division issued the recall for certain model year 2005-2008 Quattroporte, 2008 Granturismo, and 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C vehicles, because rear tie rod assemblies on these cars may have insufficient anti-corrosion material applied and could rust and weaken, leading to a possible fail.

Subaru Sings The Lights That Don't Light Recall Jingle for More Than 633,000 Cars


The first automotive recall of the New Year goes to Subaru, which has discovered a potential problem with puddle lights that could lead to smoke or fire on 633,842 models sold in the United States.

Subaru told U.S. safety regulators that the recall concerns certain 2010 and 2011MY Legacy and Outback vehicles, 2006-2012MY Tribeca crossovers sold before January 2012, and some 2009-2012MY Forester crossovers, also sold before January 2012.

2013 Subaru Legacy and Outback Facelift in 58 Pictures


Subaru treated the Legacy sedan and its high-ridding Outback sibling to a mild refresh for the 2013 model year and brought both cars to the New York Auto Show for their public debut.

The two models sport more or less the same changes that include the presentation of a more efficient version of Subaru's 2.5-liter boxer engine with a double-overhead-cam (DOHC) rated at 173hp and 174 lb.-ft. of torque, up 3hp and 4 lb.-ft. from the previous 2.5-liter SOHC engine.
