Spied: New Range Rover Ready to Give Birth to Long Wheelbase Version

What looks like an impregnated 2014 Range Rover in these photos is in fact a new, upcoming addition to Land Rover's flagship SUV.

It's the Long-Wheelbase (LWB) model that adds around 150mm (5.9 inches) to the regular Range Rover's already generous 2,922mm (115 inches) wheelbase, pushing the overall length to over 5.15 meters (202.8 inches) and creating a King-Size, lounge like area for the rear passengers.

Spy Shots: Is Land Rover Working on a Hotter Range Rover Sport?

A camouflaged prototype of the new generation 2014 Range Rover Sport roaming outside the Nürburgring track caught the attention of our spy photographers, and all for good reason.

You see, the regular versions of the Range Rover Sport Mk2 are already available for order in a number of countries with delivers set for this fall (i.e. Land Rover UK made an announcement today). On top of that, this particular prototype was wearing a modified front bumper with larger air inlets. There are no other visible differences from the production Range Rover Sport.

Land Rover Drops Teaser Video of 2014 Range Rover Sport Arriving in New York

As you probably know from our story last week, the design of the all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport is no longer a secret. So, to pass the time more quickly before the SUV's official reveal on March 26 at the 2013 New York International Auto Show, Land Rover thought about releasing a fresh teaser video of its new model. This is the All-New 2014 Range Rover Sport!

Facebook user VMax 200 posted a photo, which seems to be a genuine picture of the all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport. Although the car may be mistaken for a tuned version of the Range Rover, there are some details that prove it’s the real thing.

Take the front bumper, for instance. It looks exactly like the one in these spy photos we posted last month. The more inclined windshield is also a good clue, as are the more elongated headlights and the slightly smaller glasshouse.

Spied: Land Rover Trots Out New Freelander LR2 Test Mule

Looking at the zebra-like-themed Land Rover prototype in these spy shots, you would be forgiven to believe that it's a camouflaged Range Rover Evoque, because that's partially true.

If you take a closer look, though, you will notice two things that stand out on the car: the longer wheelbase (evident from the wider rear wheel arches and the positioning of the rear door) and the extended rear overhang.

Spy Shots: New Range Rover Sport Sheds More Camouflage

The wait for the new Range Rover Sport is almost over, which is why the British firm's engineers have peeled a few more layers of camouflage from one of their latest prototypes, seen here testing in its natural habitat (at least in theory) close to the Arctic Circle.

Like the model it replaces, the new Range Rover Sport is an offspring of the bigger and boxier Range Rover. With the second generation model, Land Rover wants to increase the visual distance between the two SUVs.

Scoop: New Range Rover Sport Filmed in the Mojave Desert

Vast as it may be, the Mojave Desert is a good place to begin your search for automotive engineers trialing camouflaged prototypes of future models. The scoopsters at KGP Photography know this all too well and were on hand to record a number of 2014 Range Rover Sport test cars. Read more »

Future Cars: Conceptualizing the 2014 Range Rover Sport

Drug dealers and gangsters unite (and of course the rest of us who like a sporty Rangie); the British off-road specialists are re-imagining their entrant to the hyper SUV market - that being the all-new Range Rover Sport.

The current generation of the Sport has been with us since 2005 as a sportier alternative to the larger Range Rover. It's been a hit with the trendy suburbanites and downtown corporate suites here and in Europe - although in the latter land they're mainly used for transporting hit-men and smugglers.

This is a lucrative market and Land Rover knows it, hence why the brand is expanding its lineup of luxury off-roaders.

U Spy: Can You Tell Which Range Rover Models were Spotted in France?

The wait for the regular 2013 Range Rover Mk4 might be over, but Land Rover is far from done with the series as the British firm has more models heading our way in the next year or so.

The ones we know are coming for sure are the more athletic looking and smaller in size Range Rover Sport, and on the other end of the spectrum, a more luxuriously equipped version of the Range Rover with a longer wheelbase (LWB).

In a recent trip to France, CarScoop reader and owner of the LandRoverHell website, Glenn B., spotted a group of camouflaged Land Rover prototypes and was able to rattle off some quick spy shots for us with his mobile phone.

Spy Shots: New 2014 Range Rover Long-Wheelbase Model Promises More Space for Rear Passengers

Land Rover will offer a long-wheelbase (LWB) version of its luxury Range Rover model and we have proof for this in the form of these spy shots of a disguised prototype model undergoing speed tests at the Nürburgring track.

As you see for yourself in the pictures, the upcoming addition to the recently revealed 2013 Range Rover Mk4 lineup sports a longer wheelbase (reportedly around 150mm / 5.9 inches) and longer rear doors.

Are These the First Official Photos of the 2013 Range Rover?

Land Rover hasn't exactly managed to keep the new 2013 Range Rover under wraps with spies even getting a few shots of the luxury SUV at its UK plant, but today, a pair of allegedly official photos have been making the internet rounds.

The two pictures made their way on various forums and sites including Ovalnews and Jalopnik, with one of the images appearing to be sourced from Auto Express, which has since removed the photo from the web post (though you can still see it here).

While we cannot vouch for the authenticity of the images just yet, what we see here seems to match the 2013 Range Rover prototype models spied over the past year or so.

Scoop: Next Range Rover Sport gets Some Time on the Nürburgring

Given that Range Rover (regular or Sport) drivers devote if not all, most of their ride time on the road, it shouldn't surprise anyone that Land Rover engineers are honing the next generation of the firm's full size SUV at the Nürburgring in Germany.

The same 2014 Range Rover Sport prototype with the faux Volvo mask that our spies photographed in Germany last month has now been caught on film while performing a few quick laps on the Nordschleife.

2013 Land Rover Range Rover Exposed in Leaked Shot

A single picture of the 2013 Range Rover SUV caught without any camouflage other than a light protective white skin on its clamshell bonnet made its way online today, courtesy of MotorAuthority (not the spy shots you see pictured here).

The image along with the article, however, was pulled down from the site without any explanation, but not before it made a world tour around the internet. If you missed out, our Dutch friends over at Autoblog.nl as well as Edmund's Insideline are just some of the sites that reposted the revealing picture.

Scoop: Land Rover Masks New 2014 Range Rover Sport as a…Volvo

Not that you can do much to hide the identity of any full-size Range Rover model…especially when it’s entering the brand's facility at the Nürburgring, but Land Rover engineers tried to confuse our spy photographers with a Volvo-like grille on one of their Range Rover Sport prototypes.

Like the current model, the next Range Rover Sport is a more dynamic looking variation of the larger Range Rover SUV.

Artist Imagines Sporty Range Rover Evoque R with Supercharged V6

A string of unsubstantiated rumors concerning Land Rover's intent to develop a high-performance version of the Range Rover Evoque provided the inspiration for a digital mockup of what such a model could look like from the crew over at PS-Garage.

The so-called Range Rover Evoque R was envisioned as a three-door model powered by the Jaguar-Land Rover group's newly announced 3.0-liter supercharged V6 delivering up to 375hp (380PS) and 460Nm (339 lb-ft) in the upcoming Jaguar F-Type roadster.

U Spy: New Land Rover Range Rover Prototypes Filmed on the Hot Roads of Dubai

If you are not content with the spy photos of Land Rover's all-important, next generation Range Rover and would like to see the luxury SUV in action, then you'll be pleased to know that Carscoop reader Jay M. has tipped us off about a video showing two prototype models on a highway in Dubai.

The YouTube poster notes: "I saw two 2013 Range Rover prototypes driving down the Dubai Bypass Road this morning on their way from the Al Tayer Motors facility in Dubai Investment Park out to the desert for hot weather testing."

2014 Range Rover SUV Speculatively Rendered from Spy Shots

With recent prototypes of the 2014 Range Rover having dropped all of their heavy cladding and simply relying on patches of camouflage to hide the luxury SUV's styling from the prying eyes of scoop photographers, it was only a matter of time before someone attempted to photoshop the new model. Spy Shots: New Range Rover Strips Down to the Metal

These are by far our best pictures yet of the all-new, fourth generation Range Rover, as our spies managed to snag a prototype model without all the plastic cladding of the previous test cars.

Even though Land Rover engineers have covered select parts of the body with black and white decals that look like they came straight out of the Matrix, these new images afford us a clear view of the upcoming premium SUV's shape.
