Italdesign Exec Walks Us Around the Parcour Concept and Drives it On- and Off-Road

The Italdesign Parcour was in my book, one of the more striking to look at concepts of the 2013 Geneva motor show, where it also debuted. Featuring a mid-mounted Lamborghini V10 out of the Gallardo, it offers supercar styling, but with a higher than normal ground clearance and all-wheel drive.

Now, if you thought it was merely a show car, which needed to be wheeled into and out of the back of trucks between shows, think again.

Italdesign Says Concorso d'Eleganza Didn't Accept its Application for the BMW Group Organized Show

For more than 80 years now, some of the most beautiful and rare production and concept cars have come together from all parts of the world on the shores of Lake Como, Italy, for the annual Concorso d'Eleganza (Competition of Elegance) a Villa d'Este. This year's edition of the show kicked off on Friday, May 24 and will run through the weekend.

Iconic design studio Italdesign Giugiaro has participated in the event every year since 2002, when it won two awards for the Alfa Romeo Brera Concept, but it won't be attending the 2013 edition of the show, something we learned about today via a press statement.

Watch Italdesign’s Parcour Concept on the Move in New Promo

The Italdesign Parcour concept is a very good idea clad in very sexy body panels. It looks like a cross between a Lancia Stratos and every new Lamborghini you can think of, which is a positive thing. Italdesign Giugiaro's Parcour V10 Concept Wears its Race Stripes

It's something of a tradition for Italdesign Giugiaro to present multiple editions of its concept cars.

Just as it did last year at the Geneva Motor Show with the impressive looking Brivido GT that was displayed in both regular and Martini Racing trims, the VW Group-owned Italian design house came to the 2013 edition of the Swiss show with not one, not two, but three different versions of the Parcour Concept.

Italdesign Presents Lamborghini V10-Powered Parcour Concepts [Live Gallery Update]

Even Italdesign can't stray away from the SUV-mindset that has taken over the Volkswagen Group lately. At the Geneva Motor Show, the Italian design house, which passed into the ownership of the VW Group in 2010, will debut two new concept models for a high-performance crossover running on Lamborghini power. Italdesign's Brivido Concept Leaves the Show Floor and Hits the Road

In contrast to the vast majority of impressive show car concepts that are either static or too fragile to be even touched, let alone be driven, the Italdesign Brivido sports coupe study is a fully functional model that was created to be enjoyed on the road.

Seen for the first time at the 2012 Geneva Auto Salon in March, the Brivido is a four-seater GT built around the platform and the 360hp V6 hybrid driveline of an unnamed VW Group model, with Road&Track magazine speculating that it could be that of the Porsche Panamera Hybrid.
