Scoop: Porsche Goes Ballistic with New 991 GT2, the Fastest 911 Ever

If you ever wondered why Porsche fans called the 911 GT2 series the "widow maker", just consider this: the GT2 series is essentially a 911 Turbo without the all-wheel drive system that allows the latter to behave in a more cooperative and civilized manner, with even more power and less weight. Do we need to say more?

With the presentation of the new 991 Turbo and Turbo S having taken place last month, we have an idea of what to expect when the next generation of the GT2 hits Porsche dealerships next year.

Spy Shots: Porsche Brings 2015 Cayenne Out for a Walk Again

If you want to stay on top of your game in the auto industry these days, you need to keep your products fresh and relevant. For the fairly new second generation Porsche Cayenne that's only been on the market since mid-2010, this means a light mid-cycle refresh to keep it up to date for the next few years until the release of a third generation model sometime in 2018.

This isn't the first time we've shared scoop shots of a prototype of the facelifted 2015 Cayenne, and to be frank, there's nothing new to add as it looks like the same tester with the same set of fake lights and black masking tape to cover some of the new design details on the front and the rear ends of the SUV as before.

Scoop: New Porsche Macan Nabbed on the Road, Shows Interior

After making its mark on the luxury mid-size crossover segment with two generations of the Cayenne, Porsche is now pointing its guns towards the compact section of the premium segment with the upcoming Macan, a lightly camouflaged prototype of which, we spied on German roads.

If you're looking at the interior and exterior pictures of the Macan and thinking "mini-Cayenne", we will agree with you. We still can't make out all the details of the front and rear ends due to the trick-plastic makeover, but the main difference from the Cayenne (besides the more compact dimensions), will be the sleeker-looking glasshouse with the more angled rear window.

Scoop: 2015 Porsche Cayenne Facelift Pictured for the First Time

As it turns out, the Panamera is not the only Porsche model that's been on the market longer than the new 911 that's being prepped for a facelift. Shortly after Stuttgart made the 2014 Panamera official today, our spies sent these shots of a very lightly camouflaged Cayenne prototype with some mild cosmetic tweaks. Read more »

Porsche Confirms New 911 GT3 RS for 2014, Will Drop Manual for PDK Gearbox

Following the world debut of the new 991-generation Porsche 911 GT3 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the German sports car manufacturer has confirmed it is already working on a more hardcore GT3 RS variant.

Porsche’s head of GT series production Andreas Preuninger told Car magazine that a new RS is usually launched "three-quarters of the year" after the GT3 and the 991-generation GT3 RS will be no exception.

Spy Shots: New Porsche 991 Targa Returns to its Roots with Retro-Flavored Removable Top

Much to the pleasure of Porsche purists, the classic targa top is making a comeback on the 991-generation of the 911, a prototype of which was nabbed by our scoop photographers testing in northern Europe.

From the 1960's when Porsche first introduced the Targa model to the 911 series, up until the late 1980s, the car was fitted with removable center panel above the passenger compartment, but from the 993-generation model and onwards, the Germans used a sliding glass roof.

Facelifted 2014 Porsche Panamera Meets 2013 Audi S6 on German (?) Highway

If you're not a professional spy photographer, the chances of randomly meeting up with a prototype on the road are rare to zilch – depending on your location, even more so if you're travelling at night when it's far more difficult to spot lightly camouflaged models.

Yet these two gentleman in a 2013 Audi S6 (that's the one with the 414hp / 420PS 4.0-liter TFSI V8), were able to tell apart a 2014 Porsche Panamera test car – likely from the LED lights at the back and the tweaked nose up front.

Best Spy Shots Yet of 2014 Porsche Panamera Facelift with Minimal Camouflage

If the design of the Porsche Panamera never caught up with you, then chances are the facelift model won’t win you over either, as the changes made to the sports saloon are the typical evolutionary updates we've become accustomed to from the Stuttgart company.

Nevertheless, this fresh batch of scoop photos provides us with the best look yet at the 2014 Panamera as Porsche engineers have removed all camouflage from the car sans the deceptive headlamp decals and the darkened film on the tail lamps.

Forum Member Scoops New Porsche 911 GT3 with PDK, Talks with Testers

Two letters and a number can make a very, very big difference when it comes to the Porsche 911, if the former happen to read GT3. The previous generations of the GT3 are considered by many as the greatest road going 911s, and this is a tradition that Porsche will like to continue with the new model.

We've had the opportunity to scoop pictures and videos of 991-generation GT3 prototypes in the past, but an unnamed member of the Rennlist forums was able to get very close to the car while it was being serviced at an undisclosed location and even talked to the test driver and engineers working on it.

Spy Shots: 2014 Porsche Panamera Reveals Cayman-Like Lights

While it's been over a year since we first spotted a prototype of the refreshed 2014 Panamera testing out in the open, Porsche isn't ready to release the car to the public just yet, but fear not as our sources tell us that it will make its appearance sometime this year, possibly at the Frankfurt auto show in September.

What these latest spy pictures provide us is with a better look at the facelifted Panamera's rear end that sports new LED tail lamp clusters that look similar in styling to those used on the new Cayman coupe and Boxster roadster models, as well as the newly styled bumper.

Scoop: Facelifted Porsche Panamera Shows its LED Tailamps in the Dark

If Porsche sticks to its original plan, we'll see a new generation of the Panamera heavily inspired by the lines and shapes of last year's Sport Turismo Concept and expanded with new body styles in 2016.

In the meantime, Porsche will update the current Panamera saloon with a mid-life facelift, which is expected to make its first appearance this year, but we still don't know where – the Frankfurt show in September is a prime candidate.

Scoop: New Porsche 918 Spyder Shows its Monotone Shades on the Snow

Porsche engineers have once again been caught on camera testing the upcoming 918 Spyder, which evidently, is in its final development stages, as production will begin in September with first customer deliveries to arrive early next year.

The camouflage-free testers of Porsche's first supercar model since the demise of the Carrera GT in 2007 were dressed in two of the many optional films that will be available along with a pallet of colors at a cost that will likely rival that of a small car.

Scoop: New Porsche Macan Photographed While Being Unloaded Off a Truck

If there's one model that has the potential to dethrone the Cayenne as Porsche's most commercially successful model, it is the upcoming Macan, which our spies spotted as it was being offloaded from a transport truck in Northern Sweden for artic trials wearing a discreet wrap to hide some details like the nose.

Like its bigger brother, Porsche's 'baby' Cayenne resorts to the VW Group's widespread practice of platform and parts sharing, with the Macan related to the next Audi Q5.

Spied: New Porsche 911 Turbo and GT3 Flogged Around the Nürburgring

The easiest way to tell a Porsche 911 Turbo from a 911 GT3 when they're running wild on a fast circuit like the Green Hell and on top of that, they're plastered in black camouflage, is to try to take a look at the exhaust pipes.

You see, the milder Turbo edition has two outlets on either side of the rear diffuser while the rougher GT3 sports two centrally mounted pipes.

The First Camouflage Free Picture of the New 2013 Porsche Cayman?

One of the worst kept secrets of the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show is the new generation of the Porsche Cayman.

For starters, Porsche itself won't officially admit it's going to be there, and even though the car has yet to be revealed, we've had the chance to see both the exterior and interior with minimal camouflage.

U Spy: Porsche's New 2013 Cayman Coupe and Macan SUV Filmed in Stuttgart

While you can occasionally stumble on a 2013 Cayman at an airport warehouse in the U.S., there's no question that the best locations to spot a future Porsche model are the Nürburgring race track and the automaker's home city of Stuttgart in Germany.

CarScoop reader Toldi has made an art of capturing upcoming Porsche models on film and this time, he was able to scoop two prototypes, the 2013 Cayman coupe and the all-new Macan mid-size luxury crossover.

New 2013 Porsche Cayman Spotted Undisguised at a Warehouse!

Porsche isn't telling us what new "compact sports car" it plans to reveal at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28, but we all know that the Germans are talking about the new generation of the Cayman sports coupe.

And it is the next Cayman that Instagram user "Frod1966" captured on camera parked in what looks like a warehouse of some sort (we don't know where), wearing nothing but some fake decals on the headlamps and taillights in some twisted effort to hide its true identity from prying eyes. Evidently, the trick didn't work...

Scoop: New Porsche Macan SUV Drives Around for the Camera

The next big, or shall we say, smaller thing to come from Porsche is a second crossover model that will be positioned under the Cayenne and with which the German company will fight for sales in the mid-size segment rivaling the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK.

The Stuttgart-based automaker has already picked a name for its "baby" SUV that will be known as the Macan.

Spy Shots Confirm that New Porsche 991 GT3 will get a PDK Dual Clutch Transmission

We had heard the rumors that Porsche was evaluating a PDK dual clutch transmission for the new 991-generation of its hardcore 911 GT3 in place of the traditional manual gearbox that has been around ever since the series was introduced in 1999, but now we have the first photographic proof of it.

A member of the Gearstage forums spotted prototypes of both the Porsche 918 Spyder and 911 GT3 somewhere in San Francisco, USA, and was able to get close enough to nab some pictures of the 991-series GT3's interior.
