Fresh Details About the Upcoming Gran Turismo 6 – Demo Out Next Week! [w/Video]

Any new Gran Turismo game is a hot topic, even if the next one is predicted to be an improved version of the current game, as it will not be designed to run on the new PlayStation 4 console, so it will have to really push the current-gen tech to the very limit.

However, nowadays it’s about more than just the game itself, because we have the GT Academy, 2013 edition, which has been made an integral part of the experience you buy into with GT5 (and 6).

New Videos of Sony's Gran Turismo 6 From E3 2013

Gran Turismo 6 is arguably a highly-anticipated game for current PS3 and future PS4 owners who love/loved the fifth game, and indeed the entire series. Any car person could get into playing it, as the level of driving realism (i.e. the difficulty) can be adjusted for all tastes and skill levels.

Now, despite the fact that some have said that this new iteration of the series is more of a 5.5 than a fully-fledged 6, but since 5 was just such a large and complete package, we think people won’t mind it…

Racing simulator fans rejoice! Gran Turismo 6 has finally been revealed via a trailer and a few screenshots. The game will be available by the end of the year and will continue to build on the huge success of the series, which has sold more than 70-million copies since it was launched 15 years ago.

What’s surprising to some is the fact that Sony has chosen to keep GT6 current-gen, so owners of a PS3 will be happy to know they’ll be able to run the game, without having to wait for and then buy the upcoming PS4.

Sony Releases New Video, Likely Teasing New Gran Turismo 6 Game

If you like racing by using a controller with lots of buttons instead of a real steering wheel, you will definitely have heard about the Gran Turismo franchise, the single reason why many racing/driving simulator fans bought Sony’s PlayStation over the years.

The first game came out in 1997, it alone taking five years to develop and polish - the series is at number 5 now, and with its huge variety of cars (1,086 in total) and events, it has attracted a following of its own since its 2010 release.

We Drive the 2014 Corvette Stingray and Pit it Against the ZR-1, Z06 and a Few Vipers on GT5

The new Corvette Stingray is the car everyone and his or her mother wants to get their hands on. As we were discussing our frustration for not seeing the Detroit Motor Show’s most anticipated new model driven by someone else aside from the company’s people, we had an epiphany.

The Corvette Stingray is already available for us to drive whenever we feel like it, for as long as we like and on any track in the world. True, it’s not in the metal, but in virtual form via the free DLC (that's downloadable content to the uninitiated) on the Gran Turismo 5 (GT5) Playstation video game.

A couple of weeks ago, you may remember us telling you about a camouflaged 2014 Corvette C7 prototype that appeared in a couple of demo "screen saver" sessions on Sony's Gran Turismo 5 (GT5) racing game.

As it turns out, there's more to the appearance of the upcoming Corvette in GT5, as today, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, GM announced that starting from today, players of the game can download and –wait for it- drive the C7 Test Prototype!

The Detroit carmaker worked in collaboration with Polyphony Digital, the developer of the Gran Turismo franchise, to create the virtual Corvette C7 prototype.

GM pointed out that "careful attention was paid to the tiniest details from the creases and wrinkles in the soft camouflage used to disguise the new design to specific driving characteristics that are currently being tuned and refined ahead of the vehicle’s official debut", which will take place at the Detroit motor show in January,
