To mark the 30th anniversary of its high-performance division Quattro GmbH (founded in October 1983), Audi will launch four new RS models this year, while also promising that future RS cars will be brought to market more quickly.

The four new RS models that will launch this year are the RS6 Avant, RS7 Sportback, RS5 Cabriolet (all made at Quattro’s Neckarsulm facility) and RS Q3, the first SUV to be turned into an RS model. These new four cars will basically double Quattro’s range of RS models.

Audi to Rely on SUVs to Become World's Top Luxury Automaker

The three premium German automakers used to be famous around the world for their fast, well-built and luxurious saloon cars, but in recent years, that perception has been considerably altered by the addition of SUVs. New Audi RS Q3 Proves that it’s Faster than a Dog Sled in Promo Video

If there's one thing future owners of the new Audi RS Q3 can be sure of, it is that the high-performance SUV can outrun and out-handle a pack of Siberian huskies pulling a dog sled on the snow - or at least that's what we understand after seeing Ingolstadt's first commercial for the Geneva motor show-bound model. Audi wants to Double SUV and Crossover Lineup with Q2, Q4 and Q6 Models

Many gearheads and journalists alike have whined and moaned about premium automakers diluting their brands' cachet by developing SUVs and crossovers, but the truth is, that's where the growth is these days. Just look at Porsche and the Cayenne.

Compared to its home-market rivals BMW and Mercedes, Audi was late to the party having launched its first entry in the SUV segment only eight years ago with the full-size Q7, which was followed by the compact Q5 in 2008 and Q3 in 2010.

New Audi RS Q3 with 306HP 2.5-liter Turbocharged Inline-Five is Official

Only hours after we posted the first pictures of the Audi's hot compact SUV, the brand with the four-ring logo came out with a plethora of official images and details on the new RS Q3, which will be displayed at the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show in early March.

The transformation from the concept model we saw at last year's Beijing auto show to a production car brought only a few minor cosmetic changes, such as the replacement of the carbon fiber trims inside and out with aluminum or black-colored parts, and a de-tuning of the TT RS- and RS3-sourced 2.5-liter turbocharged unit, dropping power from 350hp (355PS) to 306hp (310PS).

Audi’s Q3 Small SUV and A7 Sportback Reportedly Get RS Variants Next Year

Having already announced record sales and surpassing 2011’s results one month before the end of the year, Audi is gearing up for 2013. Sports car fans will be more than pleased to learn that the VW Group premium carmaker will reportedly launch not one, but two RS models next year/

Quattro GmbH is Audi’s performance division responsible for S and RS models. During the press launch of the RS5 Cabriolet last week, CAR magazine test editor Ben Pulman noticed an image proclaiming 2013 was going to be “The year of Quattro GmbH” that would launch “four new RS models”.

The smallest crossover model in Audi's range (...until someone at Ingolstadt discovers a market for a Q1 model) has received the ABT Sportsline touch.

While the German tuning brand had previewed the QS3 package with a handful of renderings last year, these are the first real life photos of the modified Q3.

Audi to Exhibit Q3 Concepts and an e-Bike Prototype at the 2012 Wörthersee Tour

It is hard to believe, but somehow another year has rolled around since the last Wörthersee Tour.

The VW Group meeting of all meetings that brings together fans of the Audi, VW, Seat and Skoda brands will be held for the 31st time at lake Wörthersee in the southern Austrian state of Carinthia from May 16 to 19.

At this year's event, Audi plans to display three conceptual versions of the Q3 compact crossover along with its e-bike Wörthersee prototype.

Beginning with Audi's two-wheel proposal, the e-bike is a futuristic looking study sporting 26-inch wheels made from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) that weigh only 600 grams (1.32 lbs) and an ultra-light carbon-fiber frame that tips the scales at an impressively low 1.600 grams (3.53 lbs).

Audi's Q3 Vail Concept Arrives in Beijing as the Jinlong Yufeng Study

What we came to know as the Audi Q3 Vail Concept at this year's Detroit Motor Show was presented in a different shade and with a new name at this week's Auto China 2012 in Beijing.

The Chinese version of the Q3 Vail is named the Jinlong Yufeng, which is Chinese for “Golden Dragon in the Wind”. The only other difference over the Detroit concept is the luminous monochrome Liuli Yellow color for the exterior with matching interior trim accents.

Audi will Present Three World Premieres at the Beijing Auto Show

Earlier this week, Audi dropped the curtains on its sporty RS Q3 Concept, but it won't be the only world premiere the brand with the four rings has in store for us at next week's Auto China 2012 in Beijing.

The German automaker today announced that it would also debut a technology study based on the locally manufactured A6 L (long-wheelbase version of the sedan) and a second show car based on the Q3 compact crossover.

New Audi RS Q3 Concept Study with 355HP Breaks Cover Ahead of its Beijing Motor Show Premiere

Audi has been toying around with the idea of a high-performance version of its Q3 compact crossover powered by the RS3 Sportback's (and the TT RS') turbocharged inline-five for quite a while now.

Some of you may remember that the Ingolstadt-based automaker offered the media a surprise test drive of an unmarked prototype back in the summer of 2011 while the four-ring brand also presented the 314hp Q3 Vail Concept at this year's Detroit motor show.

At the Auto China 2012 in Beijing, Audi is going to quit swinging the bat and start hitting the ball with the world premiere of the RS Q3 Concept, which could lead to a production model in the very near future.

Like the previous prototypes, the new RS Q3 study utilizes Audi's 2.5-liter straight-five turbocharged gasoline engine, only this time, it has been tweaked to produce 355-horses (360PS) allowing the compact SUV to pass the 100km/h (62mph) yardstick in just 5.2 seconds after take-off, en route to a top speed of 265km/h (165mph).
