Jaguar to Show Unique Version of the F-Type at Goodwood

Britain's Jaguar will use the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed to premiere an “unique version of Jaguar F-Type convertible sports car”. While some may be tempted to think Jaguar will finally display the F-Type Coupe at the Goodwood hill-climb event, the language used by the UK carmaker is rather ambiguous.

Jaguar say the car is “an exciting new design study based on the Jaguar F-Type convertible sports car”, which should eliminate the production version of the F-Type Coupe.

Scoop: Watch the New Jaguar F-Type Coupe S V8 on The 'Ring

The addition of a fixed hardtop to the F-Type's body should only make Jaguar's compact sports car even better and lighter than the roadster version, but the British company's engineers still need to calibrate, make the necessary changes and test the car before they release it to the public, something that should happen late next year.

Today, Carscoops reader Timo tipped us off about a video of a camouflaged Jaguar F-Type Coupe releasing its horses on the Nürburgring racetrack.

Jaguar F-Type Roadster Shows Off its New Vossen Wheels

It's almost a given that F-Type will eventually become the most loved Jaguar child in the tuning industry, and while excessive aero packages and hardcore engine upgrades might not be everyone's cup of tea, alloy wheel options is a different story, as it's an easy and relatively (or comparably, if you must) affordable way to customize the looks of your car. Jaguar C-X75's 502HP 1.6-Liter Engine May Power a Production Car

There are no plans to produce the Jaguar C-X75, but the engine that gave the bulk of its power, the 502HP 1.6-liter turbocharged, four cylinder gasoline unit, may still have a chance. According to a report from Piston Heads, the F1-derived engine is still being developed and could make it to production. Read more »

Jaguar Tells the Sad Tale of the Axed C-X75 Supercar

It looks like Jaguar is having a hard time giving up on its C-X75 hypercar. As you probably remember, the company announced late last year it was going to axe the project due to difficult market conditions that would have made a £1 million Jaguar ($1.53 million) hard to justify. Read more »

Loder1899 Cranks Up the Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 S Diesel

Given the popularity of diesel models across most segments in Europe, it's no wonder that many tuners present special packages for oil burners like the Jaguar XF (facelift) Diesel V6 S, which leaves the factory with a 3.0-liter unit rated for 271hp (275PS) and 600Nm (442 lb-ft) of peak torque, and an 8-speed auto turning the rear wheels. New Jaguar E-Type Concept Project by Alexander Imnadze Looks Amazingly Sleek

There are some young automotive designers whose names and work keep popping up on our radar, and all for good reason. Alexander Imnadze is one of them.

After grasping our attention for the first time with this Lamborghini Concept, he followed up with the Ferrari Quattroporte sports sedan and more recently, the Alfa Romeo 6C, and now he is preparing a new, and might we add, very interesting design concept for a modern Jaguar E-Type.

Top Gear Trio of Presenters to Drive All Versions of the Jaguar F-Type in New Season

After having released a trailer for their upcoming season, number twenty, Top Gear and its trio of presenters were spotted in London, at the wheel of Jaguar F-Types bearing some hefty Union Jack flags on the back.

The video shot by Shmee150 shows the three middle-aged men coming into a parking lot/dead-end road, then coming back the way they came.

Is Jaguar Planning a 700HP RS Version of the New F-Type Coupe?

If we are to believe the report from Auto Express, Jaguar will introduce a range-topping F-Type Coupe that will develop no less than 700 horsepower. Compared to Porsche’s most powerful 911, the Turbo S, the hot F-Type Coupe would have an extra 147 horsepower!

The magazine says it obtained the information from a source working within the company. “We have done an R-S version with over 700bhp that will do over 200mph (322 km/h)– it’s going to be insane,” the unnamed source said. The report also added that the car would look “fantastic” painted French Racing Blue, the hue reserved for Jaguar’s extreme sports cars like the XKR-S.

Autocar Gets Behind the Wheel of the Stillborn C-X75 Hybrid Hypercar

The automotive world is often a cruel one, and some of the coolest cars never make it into consumers’ hands, because of some technicality, costs or logistics. I was quite sad when Jaguar announced last year that their promising C-X75 hybrid hypercar, which was both reportedly very green and very fast, received the axe, and I feared I would never get to see one of these in action. MT Does Classic Test Between BMW 750Li and Jaguar XJL Supercharged

Those looking to buy a long wheelbase car will find that the Jaguar XJL bears little resemblance to what they normally get - the old XJ included.

When comparing it to a BMW 7-Series long wheelbase edition, a 750Li, the much more restrained German saloon is overshadowed by the very flamboyant Brit, both inside and out, as well as when it comes to the overall driving and ownership experience, as MotorTrend found out recently when pitting the two cars against one another

Harris Pits Jaguar F-Type Against Porsche 911S Cabriolet and Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster

The Jaguar F-Type is a car that the British brand has great expectations, otherwise they wouldn’t have called it the spiritual successor to the legendary E-Type. Nevertheless, this is not the 1960s, and the F-Type has to stand up against much tougher competitors than the E-Type had to.

At least for the F-Type V8 S model that is powered by a 495-hp V8, the most feared competitor is the world’s default sports car, the Porsche 911 - in its Carrera S Cabriolet iteration. Chris Harris took both for a spin, adding the old and “slow” Aston V8 Vantage Roadster to the mix, and reached some interesting conclusions.

Spied: Jaguar Hones New F-Type Coupe on the Nürburgring

Here are some fresh photos of the prototype model that will lead to the production version of the all-new Jaguar F-Type Coupe. Our spy photographers nabbed the car while the British firm's testers were running some hot laps around the Nürburgring circuit.

Even though Jaguar originally previewed the F-Type with a concept for the coupe in 2011, it was the roadster model that was released to the public first. To get your hands on the closed-top model, you'll have to wait at least a year as from what we've heard, Jaguar plans to reveal the sports coupe no sooner than summer of 2014.

MT Drives Jaguar’s 550 HP XFR-S from Sebring to The Circuit of The Americas

Jaguar must not be pleased to have been outdone by BMW with their M5, so they took the XFR and tried to make it match its German rival’s performance. The end result is the XFR-S, and with 550hp on tap, it’s probably Jaguar’s most outrageous road-legal model since the almost failed attempt at making the XJ220 supercar. Read more »

Showroom Flood Drowns F-Type, Along With Other Jags and Land-Rovers in Germany

Many people in Germany (and Hungary) have been forced to abandon their homes and head for higher ground, due to severe flooding that is ravaging parts of the continent. Around 23,000 people were forced to flee their homes in the German city of Magdeburg, and in Central Europe, a reported 12 people have died ever since the heavy rains started last week.

However, material losses are undoubtedly also mounting, because the water doesn’t care if the debris it flings about in its currents is human or made of metals and plastic...

Jaguar Gives XF Minimal Revisions and Efficient Diesel for 2014 Model Year

The Jaguar XF has slowly evolved, from the buggy first generation car, and now yet another set of improvements and changes have been made to it, for the 2014 model-year. We note minor changes in its trim grades, two new paint finish options on the aesthetic side, and a detuned version of the 2.2-liter diesel engine is the main point of interest (for company car drivers, especially).

That’s not because of its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 9.8 seconds, which brings it dangerously close to being slow, because its main attribute is efficiency, and the official numbers are promising.

Jaguar F-Type Enjoys a Vibrant Start, Half of 2013's Production Already Sold Out

The Jaguar F-Type convertible is proving to be a sales hit, with the British carmaker already selling half of the first year’s production.

"Half of the first year's production of the F-Type is already sold," global brand director Adrian Hallmark told Autonews. This means that customers who order the car now will get one by the end of this year – if they’re lucky.

RCA Students Craft a Nifty-Looking Art Piece Inspired by Jaguar

People perceive art in different ways, especially when it concerns modern art, where the saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" holds very true. That said and for what it's worth, we like what the Royal College of Art (RCA) students Ewan Gallimore and Claire Miller came up with for a Jaguar competition.

The carmaker chose their entry out of a total of nine submissions to display at the Clerkenwell Design Week, which runs in London from May 21 to 23.

eBay Barn Find: 1961 Jaguar Mk. II 3.8-Liter from Pennsylvania

Cars are cool, and they garner up so much interest from blokes (and gals) around the world not only because they represent impressive technical achievements, but also because of the human aspect – the story behind them. This is generally applied to each automaker that has managed to carve itself a place on the market and stay there, but it can also be applied to any specific car that has a particularly interesting history behind it.

This means that any vehicle has the potential to become cool, even if it is widely acknowledged as being a bad one - if it’s upon hearing its history you are somehow emotionally touched, then it’s a winner.

Would You Enter a Competition to Test Drive the Jaguar F-Type?

Few will deny (here's someone ) that the new F-Type is one of the most interesting Jaguars of recent years, but is it that interesting to warrant a competition for consumers to test drive the roadster model that goes on sale in the U.S. this month at a starting price of $69,000?

Well, if you want our opinion, the answer is likely no, unless we're talking about an extra special test drive, something we don't see in Jaguar's press release on the matter:
