GM Considering Moving "Large Share" of Opel Mokka Production from Korea to Spain


Another day, another report about GM’s plans to move production from its South Korean plants to Europe, China and the U.S.

Following the official announcement that it will shift production of the next-generation Cruze from South Korea to Europe and a report that it is considering the manufacturing of the next-generation Aveo in China and the U.S. instead of South Korea, GM is now purportedly considering a similar move with the Opel Mokka.

Opel Mokka Racks Up 100,000 Orders, 1.4-liter Turbo Petrol Now Available with FWD


Seven months after the Mokka arrived at dealerships in Europe, Opel has received 100,000 orders for its new sub-compact crossover. Many of these orders came from Germany, Russia, UK, Italy and France.

“To keep it headed to the top, we’re making the Mokka even more attractive with new powertrains and high-end infotainment units – and thereby appealing to additional customers,” said Duncan Aldred, Acting Vice President Sales, Marketing & Aftersales at Opel/Vauxhall.

Euro NCAP Find that Dacia Lodgy Dissapoints while 14 Other New Cars Score Five Stars


The safety gurus at the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP), an independent organization that assesses and scores vehicle safety, have released a new round of scores for 15 new models, many of which were presented at the recent Paris Motor Show.

With one exception, the new Dacia Lodgy minivan that Euro NCAP said "budgets on safety" as it was rated with a mediocre three stars out of five, all other cars tested were awarded five stars.

Euro NCAP criticized the Renault Group's decision to not offer the electronic stability control (ESC) as standard equipment on the Lodgy, while also noting that the Dacia model scored poorly for pedestrian and child protection.

Irmscher Working on New Styling and Performance Packages for Opel Mokka


Irmscher, a tuner of all things Opel, is offering us our first look at the program it is preparing for the German automaker's newest arrival, the Mokka small crossover, which is sold in Britain as a Vauxhall and in North America, as the Buick Encore, starting from the first quarter of 2013.

The crossover's aesthetics can be upgraded with Irmscher's signature front grille that places the Opel logo in the center, protective metal bars under the doors, a larger roof spoiler (which is not pictured in these renderings), black or silver side stripes, and a quad tailpipe exhaust system.

Vauxhall Announces New Mocha Tech Line Aimed at Fleet Buyers

New Vauxhall Mokka Priced from £16,995 in Britain


The global roll out of GM's new small crossover model continues with the Vauxhall Mokka and the release of UK pricing.

The Mokka, which is one and the same with the Opel model of the same name and more or less with the Buick Encore, is available to order in the UK from today at a starting price of £16,995 with first deliveries in November this year.
