U Spy: Hyundai Preparing the Elantra Sedan for its First Facelift

Arguably, with the fifth generation of the Elantra, Hyundai took a big step forward on just about every front but in particular, the design and refinement departments, in its ongoing quest to become one of the most bestselling brands in the world. Proof of that was the North American Car of the Year title it snagged in 2012. Read more »

Scoop: New Hyundai Mistra Sedan Spotted Testing in Korea

Over the past few years, China's car market has grown and matured to the point that it makes sense for foreign automakers to design and develop more bespoke models tailored to the needs of local buyers.

Even Hyundai has jumped on the bandwagon and is now preparing a China-exclusive mid-sized family sedan that was previewed as a very thinly disguised concept car named the Mistra at the recent Shanghai Auto Show 2013.

All-New Hyundai Genesis: Our Spies Get Up Close to the Korean Luxury Sedan

If there's one model that has single-handedly changed customer perceptions about Korean cars in general, and the Hyundai group specifically, it's the Genesis mid-size premium sedan, which proved that the company was finally ready to look German and Japanese rivals straight in the eyes.

The fact that the press and consumers have warmly received the Genesis puts a lot more pressure to Hyundai for its replacement, a futuristic glimpse of which we had with the HCD-14 Concept at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Hyundai's goal with the second-generation model is to improve the formula all around, offering the Genesis with a more dashing and sharper-looking exterior loosely inspired by the HCD-14, a better quality interior with more attention to styling details and wider options, which for the first time, will include all-wheel drive.

New Hyundai "Mini-Sonata" Reportedly Shown on Billboard Ahead of Shanghai Debut

From what we gather, the sedan is easily the most popular bodystyle in China, so a manufacturer can never really have too many of them, as long as they sell. Hyundai already delivers a variety of saloons in the People’s Republic, but they decided that there was still room in the range, between the Sonata and Elantra for an additional model, dubbed "Mingtu". U Spy: Hyundai's Refreshed 2014 Equus Flagship Caught on U.S. Roads

It's only a matter of days before Hyundai blows the covers off the North American market version of the subtly revised 2014 Equus sedan at the New York Auto Show, and even though we've seen what the Korean domestic market (KDM) model looks like, the company's engineers continue to drive around camouflaged prototypes here in the U.S.

One such test car was captured on camera by Carscoops reader Sammy, who sent in these pictures of the 2014 Equus.

Future Cars: Hyundai's All-New 2014 Genesis Sedan Comes into Focus

Now, when someone asks what type of car you drive, and you answer with 'Genesis', more often than not, you'll receive a puzzling blank stare. However, one need not to be offended; Hyundai's entrant into the luxury car segment is still a relatively new player.

Revealed at the 2008 North American International Auto Show, it was Hyundai's interpretation of a luxury sedan to compete with the Euros. While sales of the first generation haven't exactly taken the world by storm, those enthusiastic boffins from South Korea are not waving the white flag just yet.

Scoop: New 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan gets All-Wheel Drive Option

This is not our first encounter with the next generation 2014 Hyundai Genesis saloon, but this time, our scoop photographer cleverly took a close up shot of the sticker found on this prototype's rear passenger window, which reveals that the car we're looking at is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine linked to an automatic transmission and a 4WD system. Spied: This is the New 2014 Hyundai i10 City Car

Hyundai is like one of those kids who just can't stay put, always looking to improve and/or renew its product line, something that has served the Korean automaker well over the years.

In the past few weeks alone, we've seen Hyundai update both its Korean market Equus and Grandeur (also known as the Azera), while also preparing a facelift for the North American market Equus, and continuing development on the next Genesis Sedan.

Now, our spies from Europe have nabbed a camouflaged prototype of the next generation of the i10 sub-compact.

U Spy: Facelifted 2014 Hyundai Equus Luxury Sedan Spotted in California

When CarScoop reader Hunter L. emailed these scoop shots he took of a camouflaged prototype sedan parked in a garage in California, he told us it's likely a 2014 model Hyundai, something we agreed with him, with our first thought going to the new Genesis saloon that we caught off guard testing in Europe earlier this month.

While the two prototypes may look similar, upon a more careful examination of the photos and specific details such as the lights, the dashboard and the window line, we determined that this is not the new generation of the Genesis but the North American market 2014 Equus facelift, which has been announced in South Korea.

Scoop: Hyundai's All-New 2014 Genesis Sedan Nearing Production

If someone were to tell you 10 years ago that Hyundai and its sister company Kia would try to battle Germany's finest car brands with a rear-wheel drive luxury sedan, you would probably laugh at their face.

Today, the German's are not in the least amused by the Koreans efforts, which started with the Hyundai Genesis premium sedan that was launched in production trim in 2008.

Surprisingly for an Asian model, the Genesis sedan has aged well cosmetically, though, in all fairness, Hyundai's designers did take some styling notes from their counterparts in Munich…

Nevertheless, Hyundai wants to keep its mid-size model relevant against the competition, so it's currently completing the development of the second generation Genesis Sedan, which according to Hyundai Motor Company CEO Kim Choon-ho, will launch towards the end of 2013.

Scoop: Is Hyundai Preparing a Facelift for the Tucson / ix35?

A pair of photos showing a mildly updated Hyundai Tucson, also known as the ix35 in Europe, Australia and other markets, with a revamped snout directly inspired by the new Santa Fe, has been making the internet rounds on Korean forum boards.

The larger image appears to be showing an evolution of the ix35 FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle) demonstrator, while we only get a peek of the nose of the other model.
