Is the All-New Range Rover Sport So Good That It Makes the Range Rover Pointless?

The new Range Rover Sport has the same off-road capabilities as the larger Range Rover upon which it is based, while being quicker and more agile on the road. Moreover, it’s more economical too. So, if the Sport is a good all-round SUV, does this mean that buyers will prefer it over the more expensive Range Rover? Read more »

After having gone up the Pikes Peak hillclimb in 12:35.61 and been called the fastest production vehicle to have done so, the excessively-promoted Range Rover Sport is getting even more coverage, as it has just been announced as the official pace car, and “will open the legendary course to strong international entry at this Sunday’s 91st running of the racing venue.” Read more »

Arden Facelifts and Widens 2005-2009 Range Rover Sport

When automakers apply only minor changes to their models, it's a God's gift to tuners as they can offer these parts to existing owners.

In the case of Arden and the first generation of the Range Rover Sport, the German tuning firm has developed a package that brings the appearance of the pre-facelift SUV (built from 2005 to 2009) in line with the changes applied to the 2010MY, and then adds some new aero components and wheels.

EVO Does First Review of All-New 2014 Range Rover Sport

I never really understood the purpose of old Range Rover Sport, with its dash set so high inside the cabin, that they were forced to paint a black line on the lower part of the windscreen to mask it off. I never got why they used Discovery underpinnings, and still called it a Range Rover, despite the fact that anybody who has been in/driven one of those will tell you there is a big difference in the way they feel/make you feel. New Range Rover Sport Sets New Pikes Peak Records for Production Vehicles [w/Video]

One could expect that many series production sports cars would try their luck on Pikes Peak, but not a Range Rover. However, automakers these days use any opportunity they can to promote their new products, and this is exactly what Land Rover has done with the new generation of the Range Rover Sport. Read more »

Big Range Rover and Sport to Gain Hybrid Variants, Sport Also Gets 2.0-Liter Petrol Turbo

The 2013 edition of the Frankfurt motor show, which is to take place this September, has been selected by Land Rover as the venue of choice for the unveiling of diesel-electric hybrid versions of the all-new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. The information was obtained by CarSales of Australia, which sat down with a leading engineer for the British company, Stuart Firth.

He confirmed that the aforementioned hybrid would go on sale in Europe by the end of this year, and that it's not the only new version to be revealed in Frankfurt. The German auto show will also play host to the unveiling of a new V8 diesel-powered Sport, which will get 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

Spy Shots: Is Land Rover Working on a Hotter Range Rover Sport?

A camouflaged prototype of the new generation 2014 Range Rover Sport roaming outside the Nürburgring track caught the attention of our spy photographers, and all for good reason.

You see, the regular versions of the Range Rover Sport Mk2 are already available for order in a number of countries with delivers set for this fall (i.e. Land Rover UK made an announcement today). On top of that, this particular prototype was wearing a modified front bumper with larger air inlets. There are no other visible differences from the production Range Rover Sport.

In and Out in 007 Minutes: Daniel Craig Pockets $1Million for Range Rover Gig

As you’ve probably seen from one of our earlier reports, actor Daniel Craig (better known as the face of James Bond), was the surprise celebrity that unveiled the new Range Rover Sport at a VIP event in Midtown Manhattan on the eve of the 2013 New York Auto Show.

You will say that this is just another PR exercise in which an automaker uses a celebrity to unveil a new model. Well, yes and no. Yes, it is a PR stunt, but it’s not “just another” endorsement.

Shaken, Not Stirred: Land Rover Releases Five Videos of the New Range Rover Sport

By now, you’ve probably read all the details about the brand new Range Rover Sport that was unveiled during a special presentation on the eve of the New York Auto Show.

Just like its bigger brother, the Sport switched from a steel body-on-frame to an aluminum monocoque. Thus, in spite of being noticeably bigger than its predecessor it has shed a lot of weight (up to 420 kg / 925 pounds), improving both its driving dynamics and its green credentials

Carscoops readers are filling up our email box with tips today, the latest one being these two purportedly official images of Land Rover's brand-new 2014 Range Rover Sport that appeared on a German-language blog.

From what we can tell, these shots match the three photos of the second generation Range Rover Sport that was spotted in a window-tinting shop earlier this month, so chances are they are real.

This is the All-New 2014 Range Rover Sport!

Facebook user VMax 200 posted a photo, which seems to be a genuine picture of the all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport. Although the car may be mistaken for a tuned version of the Range Rover, there are some details that prove it’s the real thing.

Take the front bumper, for instance. It looks exactly like the one in these spy photos we posted last month. The more inclined windshield is also a good clue, as are the more elongated headlights and the slightly smaller glasshouse.

Spy Shots: New Range Rover Sport Sheds More Camouflage

The wait for the new Range Rover Sport is almost over, which is why the British firm's engineers have peeled a few more layers of camouflage from one of their latest prototypes, seen here testing in its natural habitat (at least in theory) close to the Arctic Circle.

Like the model it replaces, the new Range Rover Sport is an offspring of the bigger and boxier Range Rover. With the second generation model, Land Rover wants to increase the visual distance between the two SUVs.

Future Cars: Conceptualizing the 2014 Range Rover Sport

Drug dealers and gangsters unite (and of course the rest of us who like a sporty Rangie); the British off-road specialists are re-imagining their entrant to the hyper SUV market - that being the all-new Range Rover Sport.

The current generation of the Sport has been with us since 2005 as a sportier alternative to the larger Range Rover. It's been a hit with the trendy suburbanites and downtown corporate suites here and in Europe - although in the latter land they're mainly used for transporting hit-men and smugglers.

This is a lucrative market and Land Rover knows it, hence why the brand is expanding its lineup of luxury off-roaders.
