Weistec's Smoking Hot 850HP Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, Featured on Tuned

Jeremy Clarkson, in his infinite wisdom, did make one crucial discovery for mankind. He found the easy way for smokers to quench their craving for nicotine – it was called smoking…a rear-driven car’s back wheels for amusement.

Furthermore, since Mr. Clarkson likes fast Mercedes-Benz cars, we thought it was only natural that we bring him up when talking about the Weistech E63 AMG, a car he would most definitely get.

This is One Very, Very Bizarre eBay Ad for a Mercedes E320 CDI

If you are like us and visit online auctions sites such as eBay on a regular basis, you are bound to stumble upon the occasional strange find, but that usually has to do more with the car itself than anything else and yet, as they say, there's always that exception that makes the rule…

In this case, it's a UK ad from eBay for a run-of-the mill 2000 Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI with a voluminous lady posing around the car and even…in the German saloon's boot.

There never was, and there will never be, an official AMG high-performance version of the C207-codenamed Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe that was just recently launched in facelifted form, something that the German brand has already admitted as being a big mistake that will be corrected with the next generation model. You probably remember when we wrote about Mercedes’ decision to offer the illuminated star as a genuine accessory for the new E-Class. Well, it looks like this feature will be offered across the entire range, with the next models to get it being the GL-Class from the model years 2013+, M-Class MY 2012+, E-Class MY 2014+ and CLS MY 2006+. Russian Mercedes-Benz AMG TV Spot Takes it Easy

All those crazy dash-cam videos from Russia that are circulating on the internet would lead you to believe that any car footage related to the land of vodka, babushkas and caviar would entail a crash or at least someone pointing a gun to a motorist. Read more »

Mercedes Admits Not Creating AMG Version of E-Class Coupe Was a Mistake

We’ve always wondered why Mercedes-Benz did not make an E63 AMG version of their E-Class Coupe and E-Class Cabriolet, which would have made a lot of sense, since they already have hot versions of pretty much any car in their lineup. Now, we learn that Mercedes itself regrets not having done so, but the Germans say this will amended in the next-generation car. Read more »

Wow for the Car, Boo for the Price: 1992 Mercedes 500E Built by Porsche with Only 10k Miles!

Of all the high-performance sedans to come out of Europe over the past few decades, the 1990-1995 Mercedes-Benz 500E (renamed to E500 in 1994) must be one of the most understated and to some extent, under-appreciated models.

Due to the limited production numbers, finding one these days, isn't easy, let alone a stock version with just 10,000 miles (16,000km) on the odometer, like the one I discovered for sale on eBay today.

Designer Gives the New 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe the Shooting Brake Treatment

In the automotive world, shooting break or shooting brake is a term used to describe a distinct and rakish estate body style, more often than not, with two passenger doors, a sloping roofline, and a tailgate, though, over the years, we've also seen four-door models like the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake. Russian Priest in Mercedes-Benz E-Class Misbehaving

You gotta love the Russian activists who participate in the growing citizens' movement StopHam (locally called СтопХам), whose goal is to shame all those drivers who illegally park or leave their vehicles anywhere on and off the road (think pedestrian crossings, handicap positions, sidewalks etc.), since many police officers either don't care or turn a blind eye – especially when it comes to expensive rides… Read more »

Mercedes-Benz UK Prices New S-Boosted E 63 AMG Saloon and Estate Models

If you're looking for an E63 AMG with a little more grunt and style, but don't want to follow the aftermarket path, Mercedes-Benz has developed a new "S" series for the facelifted versions of its high-performance mid-size model with increased power and subtle aerodynamic enhancements.

The new E 63 AMG "S" models are available now for order in the UK with first deliveries scheduled for June at prices set at £83,740 OTR for the Saloon and £85,530 OTR for the Estate, or £9,995 more than the standard E 63 AMG variants.

New Gallery of Mercedes' Updated E-Class Coupe and Cabrio, and Video of E63 S Wagon

Mercedes-Benz is still trying to convince us that the redesigned E-Class has a "four-eyed" look that is typical of the E-Class, but I still can't see it… Nevertheless, they have integrated this departure from tradition into the design rather well, and I find the facelifted model better looking than its predecessor.

Now, after launching the sedan and estate versions of the car, and following the world premiere of the Coupé and the Cabriolet models, Mercedes has put the spotlight again on the latter, which in Germany, cost from €42,600 for a base E200 hardtop to €73,300 for an E500 convertible ($55,832 - $96,500).

KTW Takes Care of Mercedes-Benz's "Luxury Load Donkey" in Brabus Style

We never cease to be entertained by certain translations of foreign manufacture press blurbs into the English language – well, at least when they're not considered racial slurs. In the case of German tuning brand KTW, it was their description of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class T-Model (Wagon in the U.S.): "the T-model of the E-class is a luxury load donkey".

While we're waiting for a representative of the "Equus africanus asinus" to respond to KTW's use of their family name, let's go ahead and see what the tuner has prepared for the German estate.

Mercedes-Benz Stretches E-Class Saloon for China Market with LWB Model

Offering long-wheelbase sedans is a must for any carmaker that wants to sell cars in China, especially for luxury car manufacturers. Mercedes-Benz is no exception, with the world premiere of the long wheelbase version of the new E-Class taking place at the Shanghai auto show.

The main advantage of the E-Class LWB is obviously legroom for rear passengers, which has increased by 140 millimeters (5.51 in). Derived from this is the improved ride quality, at least according to Mercedes. Measuring 5,019 mm (197.6 in) in length and with a wheelbase of 3,014 mm (118.6 in), this version is 140 mm longer overall than the E-Class saloon. The E-Class LWB will be built and sold exclusively in China.

Mercedes-Benz Announces New Sport Products for the A-Class in Geneva

The CLA front-wheel drive compact sedan was the single most important model from Mercedes-Benz’s extensive range that debuted at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. We’d rate the A 45 AMG a (very) close second, though; plus, the three-pointed star also decided to spray some of the 355HP mega-hatch sporty sparkle on the rest of its premium B-segment contender. Spain's Police Impounds Six Mercedes E63 AMGs During Media Launch

Being a member of the media does not give you immunity from the law, as many have found to their detriment. You have to obey all road regulations and behave in the appropriate manner.

Of course, during media launches, some may bend the rules a bit in order to test the cars properly, especially if the launch happens to be about the 557HP Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG. Would you be able to resist exploring that fire-breathing twin-turbo sedan or estate? Thought so…
