Sebastian Loeb Obliterates Pikes Peak Record and Wins with 8:13.878 [w/Video]


In motorsport, progress is usually very incremental, and its fruits translate into tenths or even hundredths of a second gained. However, while that statement may stand true when it comes to the conventional types of motorsport, doing the annual Pikes Peak hillclimb is like successfully completing a fast and consistent lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife - a very special achievement, and therefore the normal rules don’t apply.

For instance, this year, "newcomer" Sebastien Loeb managed to win by shaving more than a minute and a half off last year’s 9:46.164 time, set by Rhys Millen!

New Range Rover Sport Chosen as Pikes Peak Pace Car [w/Video]


After having gone up the Pikes Peak hillclimb in 12:35.61 and been called the fastest production vehicle to have done so, the excessively-promoted Range Rover Sport is getting even more coverage, as it has just been announced as the official pace car, and “will open the legendary course to strong international entry at this Sunday’s 91st running of the racing venue.” Read more »

New Mitsubishi Outlander and Lancer EVO X Assume Safety Car Role at Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Peugeot 208 T16 Was the Fastest in Its First Pikes Peak Test


Peugeot Sport has baptized its 208 T16 on the Pikes Peak tarmac, where the 875-hp beast has completed its first practice outing. With Sébastien Loeb behind the wheel, the Peugeot 208 T16 looked at home on the Pikes Peak course, partly because its racing colors remind of the legendary Pikes Peak-winning Peugeot 405 T16. Yokohama's HER-02 EV is Gearing Up for Pikes Peak 2013 [w/Videos]


After finishing fifth in its class at Pikes Peak in 2012, Japanese tire manufacturer Yokohama is trying again this year, with the same all-electric vehicle, dubbed the HER-02.

Having been in development since 2009, and entered in the famed hill-climb starting in 2010, the vehicle has reached some level of technical stability most likely, if you will, and hopes are high - every year has seen the car perform better, so 2013 should be no exception.
