Renault Clio RS 200 EDC Drag Races Predecessor and Peugeot 208 GTI

When you’re buying a relatively affordable hot hatch, the sheer amount of performance you are offered is hugely important, especially if you are the kind of person who really likes his or her car, and wants everybody to know just how much.

Currently, the Renault Clio RS 200 EDC, with a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine is the king of the supermini-based hot hatches, when it comes to how much of its power it can put to the ground.

Renault Prices Clio GT-Line for the UK Market – Starts at £17,395

Renault is offering an interesting stepping-stone between their regular cars, and their special range of RS-badged models with their GT-Line variants. The fourth-generation Clio is the latest car to get the treatment, and it offers a lot for the UK market, which is packed with lovers of hot hatches.

However, some may prefer lower running, insurance and purchase costs, but still want a sportier than normal drive and unique styling, which is what the GT delivers.

New Renault Clio Estate Imagined in RS 200 EDC Guise

If there's one small station wagon we could see wearing a 'hot hatch' badge, it is the new Renault Clio Estate. Whether the French carmaker would ever consider placing its RS logo on it, is a different story. Read more »

Renault Pranks Customers with "Va Va Voom" Button that Brings Paris in Front of Their Eyes

Following Pepsi’s Jeff Gordon commercial, in which a salesman was (supposedly) punk’d by the NASCAR driver, we now have another test drive prank, this time organized by Renault UK. However, there’s a different scenario here, as the salesman is the one pranking customers, not the other way round. Read more »

New Renault Clio RS 200 Pitted Against Toyota GT86

This is one of the first proper reviews of the new Renault Clio RS 200 EDC, and it comes courtesy of Autocar magazine, which pitted it against the Toyota GT86, just to spice things up a bit. Reviewer Steve Sutcliffe drives the new Clio RS, and praises it for its composed handling and very high levels of grip, as well as its refinement and comfort levels. Read more »

Check Out the Renault Clio RS 200's Launch Control

The Renault Clio RS 200 has been in the limelight in recent months, and while we've pretty much covered most aspects, from pricing to its design and performance figures, one neat feature that the car comes with is launch control,  which doesn't seem to be mentioned that often, not even by Renault itself. New Renault Captur Crossover Starts from €15,500 in France

Renault has just released official pricing information for the Clio-based Captur crossover in its home market of France. It starts from €15,500, and undercuts one of its main rivals, the Nissan Juke, by around €500. It is not as unique as its Japanese rival, but with Renault's latest styling language, we say it is one of the prettier small crossovers in Europe. Read more »

Sounds Like GT-R Spirit: Why the New Renault Clio RS Sound App is Just Lame

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like but, although I don’t believe in the “second shooter” theory or that those white lines in the sky are something other than contrails, I have a nagging thought that, in the past few months, some of the most charismatic CEOs in the automotive industry have been replaced by clones.

Nissan’s Carlos Ghosn is idolized in Japan for turning the ailing carmaker around; he even starred in a manga. Forming an alliance with Renault was also a very successful movement, allowing for parts sharing and cost-cutting while giving each carmaker its own distinct character and, in the process, churning out some pretty driver-oriented cars such as the Nissan GT-R or the Renault Sport Megane and Clio.

Another Shotgun Ride, This Time in the Renault Clio RS 200 EDC

Having witnessed a test drive of the all-new Clio RS, done by Renault itself, and watched the few driving videos they put out, we now get one-step closer to a review with yet another shotgun ride video, and by that we mean a Renault test driver taking someone out for a ride. We already covered a similar video done for the Peugeot 208 GTi, so now it's the turn of the even-more-hotly-anticipated Clio RS. Read more »

New Clio RS Priced in the UK, Offers App that Reproduces Nissan GT-R Sounds from Speakers

After its Paris Motor Show debut last September, Renault has confirmed UK pricing and specification for the Clio RenaultSport (RS) 200 EDC, which is available exclusively as a five door model with a six-speed automatic dual clutch transmission (Efficient Dual Clutch), in two trims.

The base version of the 197hp (200PS) 1.6-liter turbo-powered hatch starts at £18,995, which Renault makes a point to note that it's "only £100 more than the three-door, manual Peugeot 208 GTi and £1,055 less than the lower-powered, DSG-equipped five-door Volkswagen Polo GTI".

Renault Heats up New Clio GT by RenaultSport for the Geneva Motor Show

We knew Renault had plans to bridge the gap between the Clio RS 200 EDC and lesser Clio models, and here it is: the new Clio GT, which judging by the rear license plate, was developed by the brand's RenaultSport performance division.

We say this because we don't have an official statement from the French carmaker yet, only these four images.

Renault Itself Test Drives the New Clio RS 200 EDC

The all-new Clio RS 200 EDC is a very important car for Renault, and the French manufacturer is keen to point out the improvements over the previous generation car with an in-house test drive of its hot hatch. It is of course a biased review of the Clio, but since the first customer cars are set to be delivered in mid-March, this is all we have to go on until the car becomes available to the motoring press. New Renault Clio Estate Proves that Wagons Don't Have to Look Boring

Renault put a lot of effort in the styling of its latest Clio series, be that for the five-door hatchback that is readily available, or the new Estate model that was revealed at the Paris Motor Show last year and which will soon go on sale across Europe.

As the French brand prepares for the Clio Estate's market launch, it dropped a fresh collection of photos of the model with which it will try to increase its share in the popular B-segment category.

European Car of the Year Short List with the 8 Finalists Revealed, Think You Can Pick the Winner?

After announcing the 34 nominees (38 if you include re-badged models like the Seat Toledo and Subaru BRZ) in late September, the organizing committee of the European edition of the Car of the Year award has now released the short list with the 8 finalists.

Normally, the short list includes 7 models, but due to the fact that two cars tied in the same position during the voting process, the committee increased the number of finalists to eight, just as it did in the 2007 edition of the award.

Renault Delays Zoe EV Launch So It Won’t Steal New Clio 4’s Thunder

Renault’s Chief Operating Officer Carlos Tavares has confirmed that the French car manufacturer has set a CO2 fleet emissions target below 100 g/km in 2016 and below 80 g/km in 2020, when he estimates that electric vehicles will account for 10 percent of its product portfolio.

The Zoe EV is a B-segment car that, in Tavares’ own words, “is almost impossible to go back to internal combustion after driving it. We are confident in its success and impatient to launch it.”

Not desperate enough, though, to suspend its launch in order to make way for the all-new Clio IV that premiered at September’s Paris Auto Show.

Backing Up Into a Ferrari California Should Help Fix Your Insurance Rates

When does a simple fender bender turn into an incident worthy of writing a post about? Well, duh, when it concerns a hot Italian supercar, of course.

While filming a dark colored Ferrari California driving with its top down on the busy streets of Cannes in the French Riviera, YouTube user Superlennyo was able to capture a white, older generation Renault Clio hatchback backing up, but not slowing down, until it scrapped the bumper of the Italian hardtop convertible.
