Frisky Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX MR Gets POV Test Drive

While the crew over at Winding Road Magazine usually specializes in doing POV test drives for the more interesting of new cars, occasionally feature a nice older ride, to reminds us of just how toned down cars are becoming nowadays.

Compare virtually any modern car with its older self, and you will begin to see that the inevitable progress of the industry has rendered its dashboard soft, along with its responses to your inputs. The same applies to sounds – I don’t really understand why all cars are getting so quiet (well, I see the point for family rides, but not for sports cars), but it seems to be an industry obsession.

eBay: Own The Lime-Green Mitsubishi Evo that Paul Walker Drove in 2 Fast 2 Furious

If you ask me, the second movie in the Fast and Furious franchise, called "2 Fast 2 Furious", was by no means a worthy successor to the original. The choice of cars was silly (pink convertible Mitsubishi Eclipse among others), and so were the incoherent plot and contrived story. Read more »

What a Tool! Infiniti FX Driver Hits and Runs Away on Russian Highway

Things really have a tendency to get out of hand in Russia, and a highway crash turns into a felony as an Infiniti FX driver rams a Mitsubishi Colt from behind, launching it into the inner guard rail, causing it to crash quite severely. However, the luxurious Japanese SUV is not seriously damaged, and it speeds away from the scene, disappearing in the distance. Read more »

Out of Control SUV on Two Wheels Narrowly Misses Smart Coupe but Ploughs into Camera Car

Usually, the bigger a vehicle is, the safer it is, and this it is the reason behind soccer moms buying large minivans and SUVs to make the classic school run.

However, what soccer moms and others who buy SUVs and MPVs for safety reasons don’t really realize is that, while they may carry more inertia during a head-on crash, for example, and will dislodge the other smaller vehicle and let it absorb more of the damage, the center of gravity is considerably higher than in an average sedan, and the vehicle is harder to control and more prone to crashing in the first place.

2014 Could Spell the End for Mitsubishi, Volvo and Road&Track in the US, Says Report

The modern business world is so competitive, that it is no longer an advantage to be one, or eight, steps ahead of the competition – it is a survival requirement. According to a report from financial news publication 24/7 Wall St., ten important brands may disappear from the US scene in the coming 18 months, three of which are automotive-related.

They say that Mitsubishi, Volvo and the Road&Track publication could bite the dust in the States due to “the brutally competitive nature of certain industries and the importance of not falling behind in efficiency, innovation or financing.”

New Mitsubishi Attrage Sedan Revealed in Depth in Brochure Shots, But Beware; It Ain't Pretty…

Turning a supermini into a four-door sedan may be fairly easy from a technical and engineering standpoint, but if not always, most of the times, the aesthetic results leave much to be desired.

The Mitsubishi Mirage-based Attrage small sedan is no exception to this rule, and this becomes quite evident in the brochure photos of the car that surfaced online a few days after the Japanese brand announced the production version, which will first go on sale in Thailand later this year, with more countries to follow.

Mitsubishi CS-21 Concept Returns Back to the 1990s Colt for Inspiration

More often than not, when designers revisit one of their older projects, they tend to take a more aggressive approach with the styling, but not Gabor Farkas, who had caught our eye back in 2011 with his sporty looking Mitsubishi CS concept for a replacement of the Mitsubishi Colt supermini, which we had liked a lot – and still do. If you're travelling with your mother in a fast ride and you unleash a few hundred ponies on the asphalt, there's a good chance you're going to end up with a tender slap on the head and/or some motherly advice about how to act like a gentleman behind the wheel.

Consumer Reports Not Really Thrilled About New Mitsubishi Outlander

The Mitsubishi Outlander has never been the kind of car one buys because of burning desire, but it was always competent and one of the better vehicles to drive in its class. Now, the all-new model, which is radically different from its predecessor, takes center stage, as Mitsubishi tries to keep itself relevant in the current context of the automotive industry, both in the US and the rest of the world.

The new 2014 Outlander needs to be very good, but if we are to listen to Consumer Reports (CR), which recently took it for a drive, things aren't looking up.

Woman Tips Her Mitsubishi on Two Wheels

It seems that parked cars are really good ramps for launching other vehicles into the air. Judging by the videos we've seen, it's usually hatchbacks which offer the best lift. This new video shows how a woman in a red Mitsubishi (or so the badge suggests) hatchback gets some impressive two-wheel driving action. However, she does not topple the car over because it gently balances itself out using the trailer of a passing truck… Read more »
