Scoop: Is This the Successor to the Lamborghini Gallardo, the New Cabrera?

It was only this week that we learned about Lamborghini's plans to preview a replacement for the 10 year old (!) and very successful with more than 10,000 examples built to date, Gallardo, at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in the beginning of September with a concept, reportedly named Carbrera.

Now, we have a set of scoops shots that are said to be of a prototype of that supercar and which were brought to our attention (and hosted) by the Italian site Carpassion.

Lamborghini Gallardo Successor Rumored for Frankfurt Show, May Be Called the Cabrera

This year has been a very busy one for Lamborghini so far. In its 50th year of existence, the Italian carmaker has unveiled two wild cars, the ultra-exclusive Veneno and the Egoista concept, a 50th anniversary edition of the Aventador and has also organized a 1,200-km tour around Italy with 350 Lamborghinis from all eras. But 2013 is not over yet. Read more »

This Is What a 240 Km/h Crash in a Lamborghini Looks Like from Inside

Crashing while going 240 km/h (149 mph) is something no one would like to experience in their lifetime. Nevertheless, when you are a racing driver, chances are that sooner or later you’ll be involved in a high-speed accident. Read more »

Young Ukrainian Women Experience First World Problems with Lamborghini Gallardo

You just can't trust Italian exotic supercars. When they're not catching on fire, they're breaking down…Well, even though we're trying to make a joke out of this situation, there is at least some truth in the above statements, as Lamborghini and Ferrari sports cars were never really designed to be used as daily drivers. Chinese Car Journalist Totals Lamborghini Gallardo During Test Drive

There’s now officially one less Lamborghini Gallardo in the world. The unfortunate event took place on a wet and slippery stretch of highway, just outside the city of Hangzhou in China. The car, said to be one of the latest facelifted Gallardos, was part of a press event with various local journalists driving the Lamborghini.

However, one of the drivers, aged around thirty, somehow managed to lose control of the all-wheel drive supercar, and completely destroyed its front and rear. Furthermore, Italian coupe, which is priced at around $536,000 in the PRC, cannot be feasibly repaired and will be stripped and scrapped, according to the source article on Car News China.

Lamborghini Details Egoista Concept Designed by Walter da Silva [Photos & Videos]

We didn’t know what to make of the Lamborhini Egoista concept when we first heard about it. We thought the mad Veneno was enough to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary, but apparently it wasn’t. Now that we’ve had a good look at its attack helicopter-inspired looks, orange details and uber-angular styling, we’re actually more impressed with this than we were with the Veneno. Read more »

New Super Edgy Lamborghini Egoista Concept Makes the Veneno Look Plain

We’ve barely just grown accustomed to the shapes and angles of the striking Veneno, which Lamborghini revealed at the Geneva motor show earlier this year, and now we need to readjust our eyesight for another, even crazier exotic supercar by the Italian manufacturer – the Egoista. They call it that because it only has one seat.

Revealed at Lambo’s private 50th anniversary party, the aviation-inspired concept gets striking looks, with silver body and orange rims and accents. Even the glass canopy is tinted orange and looks great, though probably not while driving – could help at night, though…

What Will They Think of Next? Sexy Girl Plays Catch the $100 Bill Game in Twin-Turbo Lambo…

It really doesn’t take a hugely powerful car to pin you hard on the seat so that you can’t reach a 100 dollar bill stuck on the dashboard, and which you were instructed to grab while the vehicle was accelerating. I remember seeing something like this on a TV show, which was attempted in a stock BMW Z4 (not sure which one) and it proved successful – the banknote stayed on the dash.

We therefor suspect that this video has an entirely different purpose altogether. Why? Well, because the professional model (named Kayla) who is to attempting to get in touch with Benjamin is not wearing a great deal of clothes and she could objectively be called good looking.

1998 Autotech-Tuned Volvo S40 T4 Shows Lamborghini Gallardo Who's The Speed Boss

Of all the models that have worn the Volvo badge over the years, the first generation of the S40, which was co-developed with Mitsubishi and shared a common platform and engines with another mind-numbing model, the Carisma, ranks very high on the uncool-meter.

However, this particular S40 has a little something that its regular siblings don't: 420-horses rumbling under its hood. We're told that it's a 1998 Volvo S40 T4, which in factory guise was powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four delivering 197hp (200PS), but this one is tuned by Autotech. It's unclear whether the 420-horses are measured on the crankshaft or the wheels.

Chevy Astro Van Turned Into Would-be Lamborghini Gallardo Wants to Find a New Home

From the strange depths of Craigslist comes this 1994 Chevrolet Astro, which as you may have noticed, doesn't really look like GM's mid-sized van as it comes with an…Italian flair of sorts.

Before you break your head trying to figure out where you've seen it before, as mentioned by Jalopnik, the Lamborghini Gallardo-inspired "Astroghini" was one of the cars built for Discovery Channel's long-gone "Ultimate Car Build-Off" reality show and it has once again hit the sales block.

Lamborghini to Wave Goodbye to Gallardo with Stripped-Out, Manual Gearbox Edition

The Lamborghini Gallardo is approaching the end of the line, after a very successful eight-year production run, and what a better way to celebrate the occasion than with another special edition model. It will be the final sendoff for the Gallardo, so you might expect it to be something special, as it truly deserves to be, because the model had sold over 13,000 examples worldwide, bringing in good profits for Audi and Lamborghini. Lamborghini Ganador Supercar Design Study Goes Wedge

Who can forget the wonderful wedge-shaped concept and production cars, initially from Bertone and then from Pininfarina, Italdesign and other studios in the late 1960s, and which influenced car designers from all around the world well through the 1980s? The most impressive of these wedge-influence cars where shaped like they could fit right under a gigantic door.

Even today, young designers look at concepts like Bertone's 1970 Lancia Stratos HF Zero concept for inspiration in their work. Mohammad Hossein Amini Yekta is one such designer who wanted to bring "wedge: into the 21st century with a new concept study for a Lamborghini sports car named the Ganador.

Girls Bounce in Twin-Turbo'd Corvette and Gallardo Sports Cars

After a failed attempted to film professional [sic] model Sarah Leann riding shotgun in LMR's twin turbocharged Corvette C6 last month due to hazardous weather conditions (for the car, not the lady), the crew at HighTechCorvette brought the brunette back to the passenger seat of the Detroit dragster that runs the quarter mile in 8 seconds and completed the shoot. Lamborghini Gallardo Replica Based on Dodge Stratus Looks Amazing from "15 Feet Away"

The only thing that's going to make your smirk more than this caricature of a Lamborghini Gallardo is the eBay seller's blatant admission that "at 15 feet away, the car…looks amazing". Get closer than that, and…well, see for yourself in the picture gallery.

In all fairness, though, the seller, who is not the creator of the car, acknowledges a number of things, including that he wouldn't want to drive the Sagging Bull clone on a highway at 60mph (close to 100km/h) and that "it's not safe enough to drive on the streets" either.

DMC's SOHO Package Facelifts 2004-2008MY Lamborghini Gallardo

It's hard to believe that the Lamborghini Gallardo has been with us for a decade now, with its replacement not due for another year.

While we wait for the new model, if you happen to own one of the early Gallardo supercars produced from 2003 to 2007 (2004-2008MY) and would like to bring it up to date with the first facelift made in 2008, German design and tuning house DMC offers a cosmetics only package under its SOHO lineup.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Proves its Worth on the Snow

Who said Lamborghinis can't be driven on the snow? Well, perhaps owners of cars made in the pre-VW Group era (sans the LM002 SUV) or rear-wheel editions, but the Gallardo LP560 with its fairly advanced all-wheel drive system and equally importantly, the correct set of tires, can be a delight on nature's frosting. Lamborghini Test Drive in China Goes Awfully Wrong; Ferrari Owner Crashes Car After Buying it

If you should be careful the first time you drive a mainstream vehicle, then you really need to watch out when you sit behind the wheel of a supercar from the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini.

The first accident we found on the crash-loving website Wreckedexotics reportedly involves a Chinese customer of Lamborghini who took a Gallardo roadster for a test drive out in the rain and somehow ended up killing a tree and parking it on its side…

C&D Drives a Gallardo LP550-2 to Sample One of the Last Supercars with a Manual Gearbox

It’s an age-old story: technology and its advancements may be adopted by the general public but there are always some who will mourn the passing of the old ways.

There are still those who insist that vinyl records are way superior than compact discs, never mind that even that medium will soon join the one it replaced and give way to the fully-digital media.

In much the same way, there are people who bemoan the fact that semi-auto transmissions are becoming the new standard in supercars and manual gearboxes are getting pretty rare.
