Ford Issues 3 Separate Recall Actions, the Biggest of Which Concerns 465,000 Cars


The Blue Oval has been hit with three different recalls over problems with engine block heaters, missing steering gear parts and a fire risk caused by fuel delivery modules, The Detroit News reported.

The biggest recall action is for fuel tanks that may leak. It covers more than 465,000 vehicles worldwide, 390,000 of which in the United States and about 23,000 in Canada, including the 2013 Ford Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Fusion and Police Interceptor crossovers and sedans, and Lincoln MKS, MKT and MKZ models.

Ford Begins Production of the Latest Explorer SUV in Russia


The first Explorer rolled off the assembly line today at Ford's Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia, marking the first time in the nameplate's 23-year long history that the full-size SUV is fully produced outside of the United States. Ford Turns the SEMA Show Wick on the 2013 Escape and Explorer SUVs


The Blue Oval always takes the SEMA Shows seriously and this year's event from October 30 to November 2 is no exception.

After telling us about the four 2013 Fusion sedans and five Focus STs it has prepared, some on its own and others in partnership with known tuners, Ford has dropped images of three SUVs, including two 2013 Escapes (sold as the Kuga in Europe) and a 2013 Explorer.

Ford Finally Rates 2013 Explorer Sport's V6 Turbo, Says it Produces 365-Horses [w/Video]


It's been a while since Ford debuted the new 2013 Explorer Sport at this year's New York Auto Show, and even though the company released pricing in June, we still didn't know how strong the SUV's 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine was with the Blue Oval simply stating that "it makes at least 350hp".

On Friday, Ford announced that the performance version of its new Explorer series is certified at 365-horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, the same as the Taurus SHO, which is motivated by the same 3.5-liter turbocharged V6.

Mississippi Man Speeding On the Wrong Side of the Road Slams Head On Into an SUV


In a story that's becoming all too common these days, a Mississippi driver was captured on camera speeding on the opposite side of a highway for several miles before the inevitable happened colliding head on with an oncoming Ford SUV.

The accident took place last week on July 8, on Highway 49 in Collins, Mississippi, and was filmed by a driver traveling on the opposite lane. The wrong-way driver was identified as Edward Fairley of Mount Olive.

Despite the severity of the crash, the driver of the Ford SUV Amy Cox of Waveland and a young female passenger walked away unscathed while Fairley was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries including a broken shoulder, KCTV reported.

Ford Explorer Backs Into Brand New, Hand-Built Sports Car on its First Day Out, NSFW Language Ensues…


What would you do if someone backed into your brand new sports car that you spent months building with your own two hands on the first day you took it out for a spin?

Well, chances are you would freak out, though we do not know how many of you would react in the same way Kevin Patrick did when a Ford Explorer SUV backed into his hand-built Exocet. The young man digressed into an angry series of profanities aimed at the Ford driver.

We'll have to assume that in his fury, Patrick missed the older man with the three children standing across the road…
