NCE Dreams of Chopping Off the Roof from a Nissan GT-R

In their quest to create a convertible of every single hardtop model out in the market, Newport Convertible Engineering (NCE) spends a lot of time on Photoshop fashioning a number of designs to see if anyone would be interested in following this route.

After the Acura TL, Aston Martin Rapide and Hyundai Equus cabriolets, NEC has released a single (computer generated) image of a Nissan GT-R in convertible.

Nissan Wants Its Own, Better Renault Twizy EV

The Renault Twizy EV, a vehicle that makes sense for cruising on the beachfront in Ibiza, and very short pizza delivery duties, is actually backed by a very good concept.

It is very compact, easy to maneuver and park, while emitting no harmful gasses (at least not directly), and carrying two people in tandem. However, it is hampered by its limited range, very harsh suspension, limited practicality and, of course, the cost of leasing the batteries. However, Renault Group partner Nissan now wants to make its own, better version of the Twizy, as AutoNews Europe reports.

Spy Shots: New Nissan Qashqai Crossover Looks Like a Baby 2015 Rogue

You'd be forgiven to mistake this plastic-wrapped Nissan prototype for the next Rogue in North America, and from what we hear, the new X-Trail for the rest of the world, that our spies nabbed testing in the States a couple of weeks ago, given that the styling looks almost identical at a first glance. Reborn Datsun Brand Teases First Model, an Affordable Micra-Based Supermini

The first new car to bear the Datsun badge has just been teased by Nissan, and predictably, it won’t get your heart racing, because it has been designed with a low price point in mind first, then the rest…

However, looking at these two teaser shots, one could see a funky supermini, with clearly Micra roots, at least in terms of the overall proportions, and definitely very similar underpinnings. Currently unnamed, the project goes by the internal designation ‘K2’, and should sell well in the “emerging markets” of the world, but it is primarily aimed for the Indian market.

2014MY Nissan Pathfinder Brings Hybrid Version, New Equipment and a Small Increase in Price

As a new model that's only been in the market for less than a year (sales started in November 2012), the Pathfinder is entering the 2014MY with only a few equipment changes, a small increase in price across the range, and most importantly, the addition of the new hybrid variant that was introduced at the New York Show in March. Nissan Reveals Plan to Replace Worn Out Batteries for its Leaf EV

The battery pack in the Nissan Leaf failed to impress in the hottest of climates, like the US states of Arizona and Texas, where owners reported significant capacity losses. Truth is, though, the batteries are going to eventually fade out anyway - it’s what batteries do, and while the process can be slowed down (by keeping them at their ideal temperature), it cannot be stopped.

Nissan is fully aware of this, and has announced a program to swap out used batteries for new ones, specifically for the brand’s US customers. Set to commence in the first half of 2014, it will come to compliment the warranty already in place for the power storage unit (five years or 60,000 miles for capacity loss and eight years and 100,000 miles for defects).

Nissan Unveils ZEOD RC Le Mans Prototype, Confirms It’s All-Electric, Skimps on Other Details

We knew, thanks to a couple of teasers released by Nissan, that their electrified Le Mans prototype was set to be shown today. However, up until this point, it had not been confirmed what sort of powerplant would motivate this new racing car. Now that photos and information have been released, we realize that more questions are raised than answered, and aside from the confirmation that the ZEOD RC is all-electric, not much information was shared.

There’s a lot of testing to be done as the car, which will reportedly be able to exceed 300 km/h or 186 mph, will make its debut at next year’s edition of the famed French racing venue.

Scoop: All-New Nissan Rogue and Possibly X-Trail SUV

Here we have the first scoop pictures of the next iteration of the North American Nissan Rogue, and if our information is correct, the new global market X-Trail as well. This prototype was nabbed while undergoing hot weather testing in Death Valley.

Nissan may have plastered the Rogue's body with more tape than an Egyptian mummy, but it can’t hide the similarities to last year's Hi Cross Concept study that was shown both in Europe and in the USA, something doesn't come to as a surprise as this was something we anticipated.

New Nissan GT-R Nismo to Get Over 570 Hp, Says Top Gear

A harder, better, faster version of any sporty car is a welcome addition, but when it’s Godzilla we’re talking about, then the talk suddenly gets a heck of a lot more interesting.

So apparently Top Gear has acquired information which would suggest that a Nismo GT-R is definitely in the works, and that it is being engineered to achieve a time of under 7m 18s on the Nürburgring, making it faster than the all-new Porsche 911 GT3 which manages the feat a claimed four seconds slower.

Nissan Shows Versa Nismo Performance Package Concept

Who would have imagined that so many would have such an imagination with Nissan's low-cost compact sedan, which is sold under three different names worldwide including the Versa, Sunny and Almera, and has also spawned a Renault doppelganger called Scala?

After India's DC-Design studio luxed-up the Sunny, Nissan's own Nismo performance and motorsports division presented a supposedly (but not really) sported-up concept that will soon enter production on the sidelines of the Super GT International Series Malaysia 2013.

Nissan Announces Intention to "Electrify Le Mans" with Race Car Teaser

Electrification has begun to seep into motor racing, and for some particular races, an EV presents genuine advantages over an internal-combustion-powered vehicle – Pikes Peak, for instance. There’s even an all-electric series called Formula E, which is already stirring up a bit of interest.

However, even the classic forms of motorsport have been affected, and the 2014 Le Mans race will be featuring an entry from Nissan, which is preparing its electrified race car as we speak – they are set to reveal it on June 21.

Fail Turns Into Win for Aussie Off Road Dwellers

A group of off-road buddies in Australia had a bit of an adventure when one them tried to cross through a bed of muddy water in a fifth generation Nissan Patrol SUV and ended up getting stuck.

One of his friends in what looks to be a fourth generation Patrol from the 1990s was there to give a helping hand. It took a couple of pulling efforts, but he was able to muscle out the Japanese off-roader from the murky pond.

Nissan Debuts Intelligent Self-Cleaning Rear View Camera on New Note [w/Video]

The all-new Nissan Note features an intelligent self-cleaning rear view camera that ensures systems like Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Moving Object Detection are fully optimized.

In order to make these premium tech features accessible to the B-segment, Nissan has developed all the functions of the Safety Shield to rely on only the rear view camera. However, with so many functions depending on on the perfect operation of the wide angle rear view camera, Nissan’s engineers realized the lens would need to be clear of dust and dirt at all times.

DC Designs Crafts the Rolls-Royce of Nissan Versa Sedans

No one in their right mind would ever look for excessive luxuries in a car like the Versa that Nissan brags has the lowest MSRP for a new model in the States, nor would they attempt to make a premium vehicle out of it, or would they…

Well, actually, someone has tried to give the Versa, which is also known as the Sunny in other markets including India, a far more luxurious character. That someone is none other than Dilip Chhabria of DC Designs, who took a look at what premium manufacturers like Rolls Royce and Mercedes-Benz have to offer and applied a similar formula (on a lower budget) to the Versa / Sunny.

Now it's official with the Japanese carmaker also releasing a teaser sketch previewing the looks of the new model that is scheduled to launch initially in India before the end of the year.

Unbelievable: Teen Jumps Moving Car, Hits Windshield, Flips Over and Lands on His Feet!

After watching this video, you'll probably be wondering if this guy is for real – and by that, we mean if this is a genuine incident and not a digitally manipulated one (you can never be sure this day and age), and if so, how can one be so foolish to attempt this kind of a stunt?

The guy, who looks like he is in his late teens, had a female friend drive her Nissan Sentra while he was running towards the car and then tried to jump or rather run over it, but he stumbled on the bonnet and hit his knee of the windshield, which caused him to flip over in the process. Unbelievably, he landed on his feet!
