Spied: What Brand and Model is This Mystery Hatch?

Yes, it's our "mystery" scoop of the month and this time, our spies have forwarded us these images of an unidentified hatchback prototype slathered from top to bottom in a white camouflage wrap with wiggly black graphics. They told us that they're not sure what it is, though, they're leaning towards an unknown Ford model.

Here's what our man with the long lens told us: "We believe it's a Ford and it was driving together with a current Fiesta with German plates from Cologne (K- ) which indicates the European base test center. And the size is about the same as the current Fiesta, just slightly smaller."

Scoop: 2015 Ford Mustang GT Flexes V8 as it Tries to Avoid the Paparazzo

If you're a fan of the manly roar produced by a good 'ol American V8 engine, then you're going to like what you hear in this fresh video that was brought to our attention by the pony car fans over at Mustang6g.

Spy photographers were on the tail of a prototype of the upcoming 2015 Ford Mustang in GT guise, with the tester behind the wheel trying to outrun them, all while keeping it civilized and legal – or so it seems.

Spied: Watch and Hear a 2015 Ford Mustang Prototype on the Road

The time for the world premiere of the new Ford Mustang that not only signals one of the biggest changes in the model's history, but also appropriately coincides with the nameplate's golden anniversary (50 years), is approaching.

Being that we're less than a year away from the official presentation, it shouldn't come as a surprise that we're seeing a greater number of final prototypes making their appearance on the road, like this camouflaged tester of the S550 codenamed Mustang snagged on film here in the U.S. by the crew over at Mustang6g.

Spied: Ford Brings Out 2015 Mustang Prototype

We've heard a lot about the new Mustang and we'll no doubt hear more in the upcoming moths leading to its world premiere in 2014 – some say at next year's Detroit Motor Show in January, but we wouldn't be surprised if Ford chooses the New York Auto Show in April (press days on April 16-17) since the original was presented at the World’s Fair in New York, on April 17, 1964.

While we've seen spy photos of the 2015 Mustang before, those cars were test mules. The one you see here is believed to be hiding the actual bodywork of the 6th generation model. However, the use of pads under the wraps on most sections of the body, including the roof, don't allow for any conclusive remarks on its styling.

If your curiosity is killing you, you can take a look at these renders created by Carscoops' own Josh Byrnes who made them after talking to sources who have seen some of the actual pre-production prototypes.

Besides the modern looks with retro styling cues, the next Mustang, which is codenamed S550, is said to finally adopt an independent rear suspension and a turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that will help Ford infiltrate other markets outside North America including Europe.

Spy Shots: 2014 Ford C-MAX Looks Like it will be Getting the Full Aston Martin Grille

Not that most of the front grilles found on numerous current Ford models don't already hold a strong resemblance to the classic six-point Aston Martin front piece, but the Blue Oval seems hell-bent to make sure we don't have any doubts about that assessment….

After the new North American Fusion, known in the rest of the world as the latest Mondeo, and the facelifted Fiesta, Ford is working on refresh of the front end of the C-MAX, while we will remind you that our spies also recently captured a prototype of the Focus hatchback with its front end masked up (though, as we pointed out at the time, it could be a mule for the RS).

Spy Shots: Is This a Test Mule for the New Focus RS or a Focus Facelift?

While we try our best to gather information and use our investigating skills to identify most prototypes, there are times that carmakers leave us in the dark. This very lightly camouflaged Ford Focus hatchback captured by our scoop photographers that you see pictured here is one such example.

What we can tell you about this test car is that, the only part of the vehicle covered up is the front grille, and that the central exhaust pipes and the size of the brake discs, point to the 252hp Focus ST.

U Spy: Reader Spots a Bunch of Ford Prototypes Including New Ranger and Strange Mustang

Recently, CarScoop reader Anrev stumbled upon an unusually large gathering of Ford prototype models in Denver, Colorado, some of which were in full camouflage while others sported strange features that caught his, and ultimately, our attention as well.

Anrev explains what he saw and snapped with his camera:

"The Ford Test mule fleet is in Denver. Mustangs, Fusion, Fiesta, Ecosport with Japanese emblems, F150, Mondeo, Ranger and 2 other cars that are heavily padded and were covered. One was the size of the ecosport but more boxy. The other was the size of the Mustang but had a sharper nose and longer back roof line.

He continued: "The engineer that asked me to stop taking pics said they were in town for a few days. He started the Mustang while I was there and gave it a little gas. It may have SAID 5.0 on the side. But there's no way it was. Sounded like a V6."

CarScoop Exclusive: The All-New 2015 Ford Mustang Precisely Imagined

As mentioned in our recent 'The New Faces of CarScoop's 2015 Mustang' article, we have been working hard over the past few weeks to give you the most accurate look of the 2015 Mustang yet.

Hours upon hours have been consumed in getting the look as close to the real thing as possible via feedback and our own extensive investigation, and now, we can finally show you the next generation of pony car. Make no mistake; this isn't our view of the next Mustang, but how Ford's designers are actually imagining the car to look like.

The Mustang has been Ford's halo car since 1964, and the 2015MY 'Stang is expected to emerge from the stables in time for its 50th birthday. This nameplate is one of the longest running in Ford's automotive history - and that's something you do not want to mess up. Bearing this in mind, taking on the challenge of rendering the actual 2015 version was hugely exciting.

Working closely with our own sources as well as gathering all the extra information we could, including from a Ford forum thread that concerned a recent consumer clinic about the next Mustang (and which by the way, has since been shut down…), we created these renderings. The car in question has been designed in GT trim, so one can expect even wilder versions like the Boss 302, CS, and GT500 down the track.

Ford Teases New 2014 Falcon During Sydney Motor Show Presentation [w/Video]

Mark Twain once famously said, “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.” The same seems to holds true about the Australian market Ford Falcon, which will live on after all, at least for another generation, despite the rumors of its death because of declining sales.

In move that took most by surprise, Ford showed a teaser video of the all-new 2014 Falcon at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, on Thursday morning.

The New Faces of CarScoop's 2015 Ford Mustang, Allegedly Tweaked to Resemble the Real Thing

Not too long ago, CarScoop's design guru Josh Byrnes gazed into his "crystal ball", as he said, to see what the future holds for the next generation of the Ford Mustang by offering his own interpretation of the pony car's styling.

Josh's speculative take blended the shape and styling elements of the retro-penned fifth generation model (both the original and the facelifted versions) with hints from Ford's modern design language as displayed in cars like the production Taurus and the conceptual Evos.

Several sites and forums quickly picked up the rendering with readers touching up our original design (we can assure you, none of them asked us), some of whom lightly modded the rendering with new elements like the headlamps based on what they heard from owners who rated the next Mustang at a recent consumer clinic.

Spy Shots: New 2013 Ford Mondeo Sedan Undergoing Tests in Europe

Haven’t we already seen the next generation of Ford's Mondeo? Well, the answer to that question is a wishy-washy yes and no.

To explain, Ford has decided to go global with its new mid-size offerings, meaning that the new Fusion for North America and the Mondeo for Europe and other markets around the world are for the most part, one and the same.

So nothing really new to see in these spy pictures of a lightly camouflaged prototype that was snapped testing in the European Alps.

U Design: 2014 Ford Transit Connect Rendered from Patent Filings

Josh Byrnes, the Carscoop reader and independent designer that accurately predicted the shape of the new 2013 Cadillac ATS before its unveiling at this year's Detroit Motor Show, is back with another speculative rendering.

For his next project, Josh picked out the 2014 Ford Transit Connect van based on a series of allegedly official patent fillings that were leaked on the internet earlier this month (you can see those images over at Autoblog).

Scoop: 2013 Ford Fiesta Sedan will get the Aston Martin Grille Treatment, Plus 1.0-liter Turbo

Having already afforded us a peak at the hatchback version of the upcoming 2013 Ford Fiesta through these shots, our spies have now caught up with a prototype of the sedan model while engineers were testing it on the roads around the Nürburgring.

There's too much cladding on both ends of the Fiesta sedan to be absolutely sure, but it appears that Ford will apply the same Aston Martin grille treatment on the facelifted model as it did on the new Fusion.

Spy Shots: Ford Engineers Spotted Testing Galaxy MPV Mule

The third-generation of the Ford Galaxy minivan together with its shorter and lower sibling, the S-Max, have been with us (or so to speak) since 2006 having received a mid-life makeover that introduced a new snout and turbocharged four-cylinder petrol mills at the end of 2009.

All the previous iterations of the Galaxy (the seven-seater S-Max is a new addition to the range) were offered in Europe for a period of six years or less before being replaced by a new model, which means that the time for Ford to present a successor is almost here.
