Jay Leno Has Fun In New and Old Cop Cars

Little boys’ fascination with police cars does make genuine sense, but not necessarily because they believe in upholding the law or anything noble like that. I think it has to do with all of the gadgets they get, and their cool look all painted up with their specific liveries, as well as the fact that they can be driven quickly legally. Read more »

Jay Leno Shows Off Finned and Chromed 1959 Oldsmobile Super 88

It’s amazing what sort of cars were considered common in the US in the late 1950s, early ‘60s. They were huge vehicles by any standards, with more space than many modern minivans inside, and pretty much all were flamboyantly-styled and eye-catching in some way. Take Jay Leno’s Oldsmobile Super 88, from 1959. Read more »

Jay Leno Drives the Cadillac ELR, Says It’s a Different Kind of Fun

While the Cadillac ELR uses the Chevrolet Volt’s front-wheel drive platform and Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) hybrid powertrain, GM hates it when the ELR is compared to the more mundane Volt.

More luxurious, more powerful and more beautiful than the Volt (personal opinion here), the Cadillac ELR will also be much more expensive when in launches in 2014, with analysts estimating the ELR’s starting price between $60,000 and $70,000 – roughly double the Volt’s price.

Jay Leno’s Garage: 1975 Maserati Khamsin

Do you want a classic 1970s Italian style sports car? Have you ever thought about the Maserati Khamsin? While not very well known outside of true Maserati fans, I think it’s the epitome of this style/look of car for said period, and since it’s built under the tutelage of Citroen, it’s also a comfortable cruiser, and quite advanced for its day, may I add. Jay Leno Tries Out V8-Powered Morgan Plus 8 Hot Rod

Morgan has always made cars its way, and their use of wood in the chassis coupled with the classic 1930s styling has always intrigued car guys. However, some of the engines they used were…not the most powerful, and while the cars were extremely light and nimble, they lacked the punch that only a big engine could offer. Read more »

Jay Leno Yells "Perestroika" Out of Car Window – What did he Drive?

If you’re into cars and you amass an extensive collection of interesting vehicular contraptions, like Jay Leno has, you are bound to get some really unique stuff, which one wouldn't even dream of seeing in the US.

Perhaps dream of seeing is pushing it a bit, because I don’t necessarily mean it in an overly-positive way - cars like Leno’s Volga GAZ-21 are not great by any means, but they are extremely rare Stateside and still highly interesting wherever your automotive loyalty may lie.

Not Many Cars Look Good in White – Jay Leno’s Jaguar E-Type Does!

I firmly believe that the 1960s marked the peak of automotive design, and the Jaguar E-Type, or XKE as it’s known in the US, is one of the finest examples of the era. No matter how hard Jaguar will try to “revive” it through the F-Type, they have failed to do so simply because modern regulations don’t allow cars to look like they did 50 years ago… Read more »

Jay Leno is Impressed by 420HP Tuned Ford Focus RS

Americans are undoubtedly very displeased at the fact that the head-turning Ford Focus RS never made it to US shores. Watching the many reviews of it posted online, one gets the impression that, while it may be a bit on the heavy and cumbersome side, it is a great driver's car, with lots of potential for tuning, primarily thanks to the fact that under its bonnet lies a 2.5-liter Volvo engine, which in stock form makes around 300 hp. Jay Leno Shows Off His Newly-Restored Maserati 3500 GTi

The Maserati 3500 GT, from the 1960s, is one of the most recognizable Italian GT car shapes of the era, primarily because it was styled by people who were genuinely passionate about car design. The car used a 3.5-liter straight-six, which when fitted with Webber carbs put out about 220hp, at 5,000 rpm. Read more »

SRT Boss Does 5,000 Miles in a Viper GTS to Get to Jay Leno’s Garage

Jay Leno loves two things: jean shirts and cars. Being an American, he has a soft spot for homemade models, especially those with a powerful engine under their hood.

One of them is the Viper. Leno already owns two of Chrysler's flagship sports cars, having brought the original way back in 1992 and then, since he wanted a coupe, a GTS as well.

Jay Leno has GM Chief Designer Give him a Tour of the 2014 Corvette Stingray, Teases Test Drive

As these lines are written, we bet most road test editors, especially in the U.S., are green with envy. Why? Because a famous car enthusiast, who also happens to have his own motoring show, just beat them to driving the car everyone’s dying to get their hands on.

No disrespect to colleagues, but when it comes to getting first dibs on the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it surely helps if your name is Jay Leno and you are a very high-profile car nut and Corvette enthusiast who also owns a ZR-1.
