It's a Dud: Volvo World Premiere was a Team-up With Swedish House Mafia, Not a New Model...

As it turns out, Volvo’s recently-uploaded teaser videos concerning a "world premiere" were not proclaiming the arrival of a new crossover. In fact, it is an announcement for their team-up with DJ trio Swedish House Mafia for the creation of a music video that uses the group’s hit song “Leave the World Behind” – it will be used in the global launch campaign for the XC60, which is apparently what we saw in the photo we posted. Volvo Introduces R-Design Packages for the S60, V60 and XC60, Polestar Option Brings 329 HP

Volvo has released the new S60, V60 and XC60 R-Design models, which feature a more dynamic styling package, 15-mm lower chassis, 15 percent stiffer springs, sport seats and optional 19-inch wheels (for S60/V60) or 20-inch wheels (for the XC60), among other goods.

Based on the facelifted S60, V60 and XC60, all three R-Design cars now feature a unique face with a redesigned, frameless Tech Matte Black grille fitted with high-gloss black stripes, a silk metal diagonal and an R-Design emblem. DRL lights placed in the lower corners of the bumper contribute to the cars’ dynamic image, as does the built-in splitter.

Volvo Details Facelifted S60, V60 and XC60 [39 Photos]

Volvo has updated its S60 sedan, V60 station wagon and XC60 crossover, but you probably already know about that since we showed you pictures of the facelifted models on Monday. Now, besides sharing a full gallery, including images of the interiors of the aforementioned models, the Swedish carmaker has also released technical details.

The common theme of the exterior makeover on all three models is the new and the more understated front fascia that drops the auxiliary lights positioned between the headlamps and grille, both of which have been redesigned.

Volvo Goes on a Facelift Rampage with Refreshed S60, V60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 Models

Over the past few months, we spied a number of current Volvo models with minor cosmetic updates, ranging from the XC60 crossover to the S80 sedan. Now it's time for the Swedish carmaker to release all of them at once.

These include the S60 sedan, V60 station wagon, XC60 crossover, V70 station wagon, XC70 crossover and the S80 saloon. In other words, the only models in Volvo's range that remain untouched are the newly launched V40 compact hatchback and the soon-to-be replaced XC90.

Spied: Here’s Proof that Volvo's Redesigned XC60 will be Offered Globally

When a Chinese website dropped a flurry of images of a restyled Volvo XC60 last month, we weren't sure if the aesthetic changes would be applied to the local market model alone or if it would be offered on all versions sold around the world.

These scoops of a thinly disguised XC60 test car shot in Europe put that question to rest as it features the same styling treatment as the camouflage-free model from China.

Scoop: 2014 Volvo XC60 Facelift Captured Undisguised in China

As was the case with Volvo's subtly refreshed 2014 S80 sedan, the facelifted XC60 crossover has also been scooped without any camouflage in China, which, coincidentally or not, happens to be the home of the Swedish brand's owner, Geely.

Although there's always the possibility that the cosmetic changes seen on the XC60 may be for China only, we expect the facelifted crossover to be offered globally.

Most updates take place up front where Volvo's designers removed the inner lights between the headlamps and the grille, which has grown in size and now sits on the front of a redesigned and more pronounced hood. The headlamps themselves are also new as is the bumper.

The revamped exterior mirrors with longer turning signals, the addition of a chrome strip on the tailgate and the re-sculptured rear bumper with new exhaust tailpipes complete the exterior revisions.
