Lamborghini Gallardo Successor Rumored for Frankfurt Show, May Be Called the Cabrera

This year has been a very busy one for Lamborghini so far. In its 50th year of existence, the Italian carmaker has unveiled two wild cars, the ultra-exclusive Veneno and the Egoista concept, a 50th anniversary edition of the Aventador and has also organized a 1,200-km tour around Italy with 350 Lamborghinis from all eras. But 2013 is not over yet. Read more »

Lamborghini Urus SUV Reportedly Confirmed for Production

We get why Lamborghini would want to make an SUV, slowly turning the brand into a second Porsche, if you will, as it will allow it to concentrate on developing really good sports cars, while making the bulk of its profits from an off-roader and possibly a luxury sedan.

Furthermore, they can do one better than Porsche, in fact, because they can argue that they have tradition on their side, having previously built another high-powered and exclusive SUV, called the LM002, of which they made 328 examples from 1986 to 1993.

Lamborghini Details Egoista Concept Designed by Walter da Silva [Photos & Videos]

We didn’t know what to make of the Lamborhini Egoista concept when we first heard about it. We thought the mad Veneno was enough to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary, but apparently it wasn’t. Now that we’ve had a good look at its attack helicopter-inspired looks, orange details and uber-angular styling, we’re actually more impressed with this than we were with the Veneno. Read more »

Lamborghini Pregunta Concept Could be Yours for $2.1 Million

If you're looking to buy a hugely-expensive supercar or hypercar, you are willing to spend six-digit figures to achieve your dreams, then perhaps you should take your eyes off the Paganis, Koenigseggs and Bugattis of the world, and take a look at this Lamborghini Pregunta (Spanish for "question") concept from 1998.

As you would imagine, only one was ever built, but more importantly, it represents the final car made by Lamborghini, before going under Audi control.

Italdesign Giugiaro's Parcour V10 Concept Wears its Race Stripes

It's something of a tradition for Italdesign Giugiaro to present multiple editions of its concept cars.

Just as it did last year at the Geneva Motor Show with the impressive looking Brivido GT that was displayed in both regular and Martini Racing trims, the VW Group-owned Italian design house came to the 2013 edition of the Swiss show with not one, not two, but three different versions of the Parcour Concept.

Even Italdesign can't stray away from the SUV-mindset that has taken over the Volkswagen Group lately. Lamborghini Preparing a Geneva-Bound Supercar that will “Shock and Reward”

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini and the Italian company has scheduled many events to celebrate the birthday. Perhaps the most important will be a “special model” that company CEO Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed for the upcoming Geneva Auto Show in March.

Though Winkelmann wouldn’t elaborate, Lamborghini’s head of research and development Maurizio Reggiano was more forthcoming: “We want it to be a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini and we want it to shock and reward”, he told Australia's Drive.

What do you Say About this Lamborghini Supercar Design Concept?

Lamborghini CEO Says a Final Decision on the Urus SUV to be Made in the Coming Months

Unsurprisingly, Europe's ongoing financial woes haven’t left Lamborghini untouched, not only in terms of sales in the continent, but also in what concerns its product plans for the near future.

At last month's Sao Paulo auto show, the Italian brand's CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that the company's owner, the Volkswagen Group, had not yet made a decision on whether to produce the Urus SUV, which was first displayed as a concept in April.

Lamborghini CEO Says Aventador 2+2 Rumor is “Bull”, Still Waiting for VW Board to OK the Urus SUV

The great thing about being a Lamborghini designer, apart from, well, being a Lamborghini designer, is that, since you only get to launch a new car every eight to 10 years, excluding the odd special edition, you have a lot of spare time to brainstorm with the rest of the team.

With the VW Group’s (very) deep pockets and Lamborghini’s expressed will to expand its portfolio you can mull over a lot of, let’s say, unusual ideas.

The rumor mill has been suggesting that the company is considering a 2+2 version of the Aventador. Well, Ferrari tried it with the 2+2 mid-engined 308 GT4 in 1973, admittedly without much success, and Lotus is currently doing it with the Evora.

European Economic Crisis May Lead to Delay of Bentley and Lamborghini SUVs

The ongoing European debt crisis was bound to touch even Germany's finest in one way or another. While Europe's biggest carmaker, the Volkswagen Group, doesn't have a problem yet, the company's decision makers believe it's wise to prepare for the worst and save some cash aside by putting on hold certain projects.

Inside sources told Autonews and Reuters that VW officials might delay the introductions of two new SUVs from Bentley and Lamborghini, among other vehicles.

Lamborghini Rumored to Debut Aventador Roadster this Fall and Aventador 4-Seater GT Study in Geneva

The latest news for Lamborghini comes to us from Britain's Car Magazine, which is reporting that the Italian supercar maker is preparing to unveil two new models, one of which is a concept, over the next six months.

The first model isn't much of a surprise as it concerns the roadster version of the Aventador, through, we are told that it could break cover as early as this autumn before it goes on sale in spring or summer of 2013, depending on the market.

Lamborghini Perdigón Design Concept by Ondrej Jirec is Razor Sharp, But is it Too Much?

Ever since Lamborghini unleashed the limited-run Reventon Coupe and Roadster specials back in 2008 and 2009 respectively, the famed Italian automaker turned a fresh page on the styling front using razor sharp lines inspired by jet fighters for its production and concept models such as the Aventador and the Sesto Elemento.

Many design students have adopted the same design philosophy when it comes to creating their own concept drawings for future Lamborghini models, including Ondrej Jirec, a final year Transport Design student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Oakley Design Creates the First Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Spider of Sorts

This is the first Lamborghini Aventador Spider in the world, sort of. While we’ve seen spy photos of the soon to be released Aventador Roadster being tested by Lamborghini engineers earlier this year, Oakley Design and Refined-Marques decided to put together a topless Aventador of their own beforehand.

Dubbed the Aventador LP760 Spider, this custom chop top model comes with strikingly sharp lines connecting the soon to be removable roof to the body panels of the car.

Lamborghini gets a New Facility for the Development of Prototype and Limited Production Models

Proving that the Volkswagen Group has a lot in store for Lamborghini in the future, the Italian supercar maker inaugurated a new design and small-series production facility housed in a multi-store building in the Sant’Agata Bolognese area.

Lamborghini says that aside from the design and development of the firm's concept models, the building will also feature a “mini” assembly line on the second floor that has been set up to replicate the entire range of assembly steps performed on a standard production line.

Prindiville Imagines Tuning the One-Off Lamborghini Aventador J Speedster

We would like to believe that the last thing going through the mind of the person who has or will acquire the one-off, €2.1 million Aventador J are 24 inch rims and carbon fiber spoilers, but for the sake of conversation and some crafty marketing to reach the masses, UK design house Prindiville has released a theoretical tune for Sant'Agata's speedster.

Prindiville's imaginary (i.e. photoshop) creation builds on the limited production design and performance package it offers for the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 coupé, of which only eight examples will be produced.

Live Photos and Video of the Lamborghini Urus SUV Concept from the Beijing Motor Show

Love it or loathe it, the Lamborghini Urus SUV Concept is the star attraction at this week's 2012 Beijing International Auto Show.

The Italian automaker officially insists that there's no decision made yet to produce the Urus, but sources from within the company claim that if the top brass at the VW Group were to give the green light, a production model will be ready by 2016.

Lamborghini's CEO Stephan Winkelmann believes that the Urus could help the brand double its sales and provide a significant boost in profits in the same way that the Cayenne did for Porsche.

The production version of the 5.0 meter long Urus would likely retain the exterior styling of the concept almost intact but feature a more comfortable and less exotic interior design.
