Scoop: All-New Nissan Rogue and Possibly X-Trail SUV

Here we have the first scoop pictures of the next iteration of the North American Nissan Rogue, and if our information is correct, the new global market X-Trail as well. This prototype was nabbed while undergoing hot weather testing in Death Valley.

Nissan may have plastered the Rogue's body with more tape than an Egyptian mummy, but it can’t hide the similarities to last year's Hi Cross Concept study that was shown both in Europe and in the USA, something doesn't come to as a surprise as this was something we anticipated.

Nissan Cuts Prices by Up to $4,400 on Seven U.S. Models to Rank Higher in Online Searches

Nissan will cut prices on seven of the 18 models it offers in the U.S. with the aim of making its cars show up more often in shoppers’ Internet searches. The price cuts vary from 2.7 percent, or $580 (€440), on the top-selling Altima midsize car to 10.7 percent, or $4,400 (€3,335), on the Armada big SUV. 2013 Nissan Rogue Crossover gets New Content and a Price Increase

With Nissan having already confirmed a new generation of the Rogue for next year, there was no point in making any substantial changes to the 2013 model year version of the crossover that will continue its career in the U.S. with some updates to its equipment packages and a higher price tag. Nissan to Build Next Generation Rogue Crossover in South Korea as well as in the U.S. [Updated]

As it turns out, Nissan will split production of the new Rogue crossover between its Smyrna plant in Tennessee, USA, (starting from next year), and the Renault Samsung Motors factory in Busan, South Korea, (beginning in 2014).

Analysts believe that Nissan will benefit from a weak Korean won and recent free trade deals.

The French-Japanese firm said it will invest US$160 million (€130 million) to add 80,000 units of the Nissan Rogue production in Korea and "increase cost competitiveness of a key industrial base". The vehicles will be shipped to North America and select Asian countries.
