Two Boston Parking Spaces Sell for $560,000 During Bidding War Between Neighbors!

How much would you be willing to pay for a parking space you badly need? We’re guessing that, for most people, it can’t be $280,000 (€209,770). Yes, you read that right, a man in Boston paid $560,000 (€419,760) for two tandem parking spots located in an exclusive neighborhood in the Back Bay area of the city!

According to a Boston.com report, the initial auction from the IRS started at $42,000. So how did they end up costing more than thirteen times that amount? Well, it was all caused by a bidding war between two neighbors. Both wanted the parking spots behind 298 Commonwealth Ave. so badly that they were carried away with the bidding.

Look at What the Japanese Came Up With to Solve Their Bicycle Parking Problems

It's no secret that space is limited in Japan, which is why architects and engineers strive to come up with novel solutions and ideas to make the best of what they have to work with.

As you can see in these pictures on Michael Flux's website, another thing we know about Japan and its people, is their love for bicycles. Combine the two and you have a problem, especially when it comes to parking in crowded cities.

Priceless: Philadelphia Parking Authority Employees Busted at No Stopping Zone

If there's one thing worse than spending valuable time looking for a parking spot in a bustling city, it is receiving a ticket after you park – not that some people don't deserve it when they take handicapped places or block roads, sidewalks etc.

Still, regardless of the reason, no one ever likes to receive a ticket, something that makes parking maids and parking authority officials in general, especially those with an attitude (you know what we mean…), some of the least liked workers.

This Is Probably the Second-Worst Attempt at Parallel Parking Ever Recorded

Let’s face it, most of us have had trouble learning how to parallel park when we first got our driver's license. However, practice makes perfect, so as time passes, most people get used to this maneuver and gradually turn it into a chore (others even into a craft). However, there are some drivers who seem to have a particularly hard time when it comes to parallel parking. Read more »

Valet Employee Will Likely Be Looking for a New Job After This

Someone ought to give this guy a…brake, but seriously now, while we've seen much worse like the Hyatt Hotel parking employee who was doing burnouts with customer cars and then…uploading the videos on YouTube, the valet will have some explaining to do to his boss and of course, the owner of the car. London Company Hires "Van-Sitters" to Double Park Its Cars and Run from Traffic Wardens

In most of Europe’s biggest cities, the lack of parking spaces is probably the most stressful aspect of being a driver. Not to mention the cost of parking or the fines for illegal parking, which can amount to £120 (€142) in London.

The UK’s capital has to be one of Europe’s most driver-unfriendly cities – huge parking fines aside, there’s also the congestion charge, traffic cameras that follow your every step, 20 mph speed limits (32 km/h) – and we’re sure Londoners can add many more to this list.

Can You Tell How This Accident Happened?

Here's a video quiz for you; after you watch this dash-cam footage, can you explain how the passenger car crashed?

The video is titled, "Встреча VW и BMW. Пьяный водитель", which of course, is partially Russian to most of us, but thanks to Google's translator, we get to learn that it means "Meeting VW and BMW. Drunk driver".

Man in a Fiat 500 Causes a Huge Mess while Trying to Move his Car in Italy

Besides being pretty and all, one of the other main reasons why Fiat's 'Nuovo' 500 is so popular in Europe is its small footprint that allows drivers to easily navigate through narrow roads and have a better chance at finding a parking space in crowded cities.

Yet an older man in a Fiat 500 somehow managed to wreak havoc on a street in the Italian town of Cardito, located about 14 kilometers or 9 miles northeast of Naples.

BMW Driver Discovers that You Cant's go Too Far with a Clamper on Your Wheel…

No one likes to see their car clamped down, regardless if they deserve it or not, but once it happens, the only other thing you can really do besides paying the ticket is to complain about it.

Well, at least these are the options for someone rational, because you could always defy logic and attempt something stupid like drive away with one of your wheels locked in the clamp, which is precisely what an elderly man from Dublin, Ireland, tried to do in a BMW 5-Series Touring (E39).

Ferrari Driver Having a Hard Time to Park

We'll admit that, low-slung supercars with slots instead of normal rear windows and gearboxes that sometimes have a mind of their own aren't the easiest vehicles to parallel park.

Nevertheless, we think that this Ferrari driver had more than enough space to complete the parking maneuver if not with a single move, a couple at the most.

Jeep Driver is Having an Unexplainable Hard Time Backing Out of This Parking Spot

Granted, the Jeep Commander isn't a small vehicle, but at 188.5 inches (4,788 mm) long, the crossover isn't huge either, which makes it kind of tough to explain why this driver is having such a hard time backing out of the parking space.

As is almost always the case with people filming these type of incidents, the men behind the camera are far more concerned about cracking a joke than going out to help the woman who is clearly struggling to move her car…

This is How They Deal with Abandoned and Illegally Parked Cars in Russia

When it comes to vehicles that are abandoned or parked illegally, most municipalities will issue tickets with the hope that owners will pay up and conform to the law, but sometimes, more drastic measures are called for.

In Russia, for example, some cities have no problem taking matters into their own hands and settling the problem once and for all, giving owners a tough lesson.

Cheeky Grandma Has Her Revenge on Car Parked on the Sidewalk

Sidewalks were made for pedestrians to walk on and not for drivers to park their cars, but some people just can't seem to comprehend this simple concept.

An older woman (possibly in Russia), has her own way of punishing owners of cars who insist on leaving their vehicles on the pavement, and which includes some, let's just say, nasty sounds similar to those that irk youngsters at school (or at least they did before the age of screens)…

Road Accident Leads to an Almost Perfect 180-Degree Parking Job

If only the blue-colored SUV was parked a few feet ahead we could have been talking about an unbelievable outcome in this accident.

What we see in this dash-cam video (likely sourced from Russia) is a driver of a Subaru Legacy Station Wagon speeding and not paying attention to the road while trying to change lanes.

VW Golf Cabriolet Driver Gives Ferrari F430 a Bump for its Money

It's a scene that repeats itself on an everyday basis, all around the world, especially in crowded cities: a driver bumping and/or pushing other vehicles with his or her car while trying to wiggle out of a tight parking space.

In this video, which may have been filmed somewhere in France (judging by the license plates), a man in an older generation Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet has found himself in a tight parking squeeze between a BMW X3 and a Ferrari F430.

The man said that he hit the gas pedal instead of the brake by mistake. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but all three cars sustained at least some kind of damages.

Seriously, This Driver Crashed her Car Three Times in Less than 20 Feet…

If this accident doesn't get you to smash your palm into your face, we don't know what will…

In less than a minute, the driver of this silver Daewoo - from what we can tell, somewhere in South Korea, managed to crash her small sedan not once, not twice but three times in a parking lot entry!

Sound impossible, but it is true and there's footage from a closed circuit television camera to prove it.

Turning Around a Parked Car on a Flatbed Trailer is a Risky Business

To save space and transfer as many vehicles as possible, this company parked a bunch of small city cars side by side on what looks like a double decker, flatbed truck trailer.

Evidently, placing the cars this way on the truck is as difficult and dangerous as getting them out. See how this driver coped with the problem in the video after the jump.

Hat tip to Andrew for the video find!
