Awesome Honda Ad Reminds Us Just How Vast Their Operation Really Is

You may remember the Water Car Panther, the Jeep-esque amphibious vehicle which was not built by a large company capable of developing its own motor. Their solution? They used a Honda V6 engine, normally used as the basis for an outboard motor, because the Japanese manufacturer has been making those for long and has had hardly any complaints from what we know. Porsche Gets All Excited About the New Panamera S E-Hybrid

Renault Reminds Us How Practical Their Twizy EV Can Be With New Promos

Many aspects of the Renault Twizy are less than satisfactory, like the range, price and unavoidable battery lease costs. However, if you can learn to live with those, driving a Twizy could be better than riding a scooter, which is what Renault is trying to provide some competition to with their smallest EV. VW Advertises Its Side Assist Technology in Funny Commercial

I’m pretty sure there is no driver out there that wasn’t surprised at least once by a vehicle he or she didn’t see in the car’s rearview mirrors. It’s called a blind spot and every mirror has it. This is why automakers have begun offering systems that alert drivers when a vehicle is in the blind spot. Read more »

Smart Makes Fun of the ForTwo’s Off-Road Capabilities in Brilliant Commercial

The Smart ForTwo is a minicar that needs no presentation. It is a car only for the city, as any trip outside the urban environment shows obvious limitations: it has no space for luggage, only offers seating for two, it’s unstable at high speeds and I’m pretty sure Smart ForTwo owners could easily fill in more blanks. Renault Uses Uninspired Ads to Promote Its New Practical Offerings

There are so many ways in which a video ad for a practical affordable vehicle can be made, but it seems that at Renault, having people put in or move out various objects is more than enough.

Sure, it highlights the practical side of these affordable vehicles well, but those in the market for one are already expecting that so it is a bit redundant – it can’t be that hard to make something which is both informative and entertaining to watch with the kind of ad wizardry that goes on behind the scenes.

Fiat Shows What Would've Occured If the Italians Had Invaded America Instead of the British

Fiat is promoting the North American launch of the 500L five-seat MPV with a funny commercial that shows “how different America might have been if the Italians had invaded instead of the British.” The ad is really funny, even more given the historical inaccuracies in the video. Read more »

SRT Launches First Promo Video for New Viper, Aims for Emotion

Buying an SRT Viper definitely makes sense, for any number of reasons. The fact of the matter is that latest one is the brand’s highest technical achievement, using the latest of technologies to make it a viable alternative to the mainstream performance brands.

It looks good, it’s reportedly more comfortable than before (though all of the video reviewers got bounced around during their shoots, so we have our reserves about that) and the V10 engine pushes out 640hp, which is impressive and makes for blistering performance.

Mazda Says MX-5 it’s the World’s Fastest Convertible - If It Starts To Rain…

No, Mazda isn’t adopting all-wheel drive for the MX-5 / Miata, but when I first watched the video I really didn’t know what to expect. It is a recently uploaded promo that showcases the swiftness of the car’s folding hardtop mechanism.

They put it up against some serious competition, including a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Ford Mustang V6 and a Porsche 911. However, they add a twist by making it rain (caused by water tanker in the background, not actual clouds, though). All cars must then raise their roof, and then set off.

MINI Tells Mexican Women to Either Drive or Put On Makeup, Not Both

One of the less frequently talked-about reasons why many (women) drivers take their eyes off the road and hands off the wheel while operating their vehicle (and crash), is putting on makeup.

If you thought that sexist ads were dead, highly-illegal and frowned-upon by society, think again, because this latest MINI ad from Mexico is squarely aimed at telling women to either drive or put on makeup.

Brazilian Ad for Peugeot 208 Revives Classic Hanna-Barbera Cartoon

It’s nice to see that automakers don’t have a dictated policy when it comes to what sort commercial their hired ad men have the freedom to produce. This means the quality of commercials varies, and some are very bad, while others are well-executed enough for their quirky takes to be easily digestible by most. Read more »

Watch New Seat Leon SC Commercial with Multiple Endings

The new SEAT Leon makes a lot of sense as a family hatchback these days, with its latest VW platform, nice design and a competent range of engines. However, the Spaniards are also now making a two-door SC model, which is shorter, lighter and slightly sharper to drive, while also looking a bit sportier, thanks to the more steeply-raked windscreen, and unique roof shape.
