SsangYong Actyon Slapped in the Face with a BMW Kidney Grille

Before you unleash some bitter words onto SsangYong about the resemblance between the Actyon compact sport utility vehicle and the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupé (SAC), you might want to know that the Koreans had presented their high-riding and sloped-roof hatchback-style model in 2005, or three years before the Bavarians came out with their luxury proposal.

Still, we're pretty impressed at how well BMW's double kidney grille and logos blend in on this SsangYong Actyon, which was spotted parked partially on a sidewalk in Poland.

SsangYong Reveals LIV-1 Concept Prior to Seoul Motor Show Debut

SsangYong is known around the world for making some of the least aesthetically pleasing vehicles on the road – the Rodius and Actyon can confirm that more than words ever could. However, we imagine this does not sit very well with the heads of the company, who have decided that the brand needs a stylistic makeover, in order to break new ground. Read more »

The previous generation of SsangYong's large people carrier, the Rodius (also called Korando Turismo in Korea and Stavic in Russia, Australia and Chile) was widely acknowledged as being one of the ugliest cars in the world. SsangYong's Ginormous Rodius MPV can Seat up to 11 Passengers! [47 Photos + Videos]

It may not really improve upon the image we have about the Rodius in all aspects of styling, but SsangYong's new people carrier will more than impress with its spacious interior that features no less than four rows of seats accommodating up to 11 passengers!

SsangYong Teases Brand New Rodius to Succeed the World's Ugliest Car

If you think the mid-1970s AMC Pacer was a design abomination, then you probably haven't laid eyes on the SsangYong Rodius, a large MPV that has been voted multiple times as one of the ugliest cars in production.

The funny thing about the Rodius (aside from its looks), is that it was penned by Ken Greenley, former head of the automotive design course at the Royal College of Art in London, which is one of the world's top automotive design schools.

eBay Seller Tells us "This Vehicle Doesn't Look Like the Typical Junk from Overseas"

We don't why you would want to, but as it turns out, you can own a SsangYong in the United States, or kind of, since the seller of this low mileage 2011 SsangYong Actyon Sports that has been re-engineered to run on battery power doesn't mention the truck's name or brand.

Instead, the California seller lists it as "Other Makes" – so when someone asks you what you're driving, you'll simply say, "a 2011 Other Makes 4-Door w/Utility Bed".

From the eBay page, we learn that this is a 100 percent electric vehicle with a top speed of 35mph (56km/h) and a driving range of 25 miles (40 kilometers), with the seller stating, "This vehicle doesn't look like the typical junk from overseas - it's the same size as a Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab, just electric."

SsangYong Now Offering the Korando as a Light Commercial Vehicle in the UK

We're used to delivery vans being boxy commercial vehicles, but as we have seen many times in the past with cars like the Vauxhall Corsa or even the Audi TT (though, that one was in Denmark), automakers can take advantage of the law and turn regular passenger models into LCVs (Light Commercial Vehicles).

After the Korando Sports and the Rexton, SsangYong has presented its third passenger car-based light commercial vehicle in the guise of the new Korando CSX that is offered in Britain with prices starting from £15,995 on the road excluding VAT.
