Scoop: Lexus Field Testing New NX Compact Crossover

We won't blame you for thinking out loud that the prototype model with the zany zebra stripes pictured above and below looks like a Lexus CT 200h riding on a jacked up suspension and crossover-like wheels, because partly, that's what it is. However, it's also a test mule for the Japanese brand's upcoming compact crossover that will take the base right under the RX. Read more »

BMW-Toyota Sports Cars to Have Distinct Styling, May Ride on Stretched GT86 Platform

Earlier this year, BMW and Toyota announced they will jointly develop a midsize sports car. The move is part of the partnership initiated by the two companies in late 2011, which also includes the joint development of diesels, fuel cells and the latest lithium battery and hybrid technology.

Of course, most car enthusiasts are more interested in the sports car project, which will fill empty spaces in both Toyota’s and BMW’s ranges. Scoop: Is Lexus Preparing One Final Special Edition Version of its LFA? [w/Video]

A teal colored Lexus LFA prototype with some interesting details captured the attention of our spy photographers at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

For starters, this particular LFA model is equipped with the Nürburgring Edition package that includes a front spoiler made from CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastic), a fixed rear-wing, fin-type side spoilers, a canard fin plus exclusive mesh-type wheels.

If you look a little bit closer, however, you will notice several differences such as the carbon fiber dressed hood with the additional air-vents and roof, the larger and more rounded rear wing and the black stripes with the "AD-A" nameplate just above the side sills.
