Ford Issues 3 Separate Recall Actions, the Biggest of Which Concerns 465,000 Cars

The Blue Oval has been hit with three different recalls over problems with engine block heaters, missing steering gear parts and a fire risk caused by fuel delivery modules, The Detroit News reported.

The biggest recall action is for fuel tanks that may leak. It covers more than 465,000 vehicles worldwide, 390,000 of which in the United States and about 23,000 in Canada, including the 2013 Ford Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Fusion and Police Interceptor crossovers and sedans, and Lincoln MKS, MKT and MKZ models.

Ford Sued by Owners Over Allegedly Defective 3.5-Liter V6 EcoBoost Engines

Car engines have become incredibly reliable, and you really can’t buy a bad car from a mainstream manufacturer these days, in the true sense of the word, because most have been in service in one form or another for many years and have had their flaws ironed out. However, when a manufacturer launches a new series of turbocharged engines that are not based on any previous variant, reliability and durability may prove tricky to master at first.

This is why a lawsuit has been filed against Ford by three vehicle owners from Ohio. They say the source of their displeasure is the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost, which caused the vehicles to “shake, misfire and rapidly lose power” while at highway speeds, this making the problem a serious safety threat.

Hennessey Gives the Ford Taurus SHO a Good Power-Kick in the Back

The Ford Taurus SHO is a very unlikely performance car to arouse interest with enthusiasts, because it’s anything but light and sporty, according to the multitude of reviews available online.

Still, its 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine has lots of tuning potential, which has been exploited by Hennessey Performance, which has raised the car’s power output figure from 365 hp to 445 hp, this having a significant impact on the performance.

Fun Times: How 'Yoopers' Turn Left on a Frozen Road

Those of us who live in the so-called snow-belt regions, where roads often resemble ice-skating rinks during the winter months, have become accustomed to mishaps – so much so, that some people venture out with a camera in hand and just wait for something to happen.

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan, whose residents are frequently referred to Yoopers, which is derived from "U.P.-ers", is one of those regions where winters tend to be long, cold, and snowy – not the best combo for driving around anything on wheels.

Ford Taurus and Dodge Charger Cop Cars Chase Down a 2013 Ford Shelby GT500

With 662 SAE-certified ponies kicking under its hood, the revamped 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 promises to be the meanest pony car on the road offering Ferrari (straight-line) performance for Ford prices (the coupe starts at US$54,200).

Design Student Refashions the Ford Taurus Sedan

Having received a mild facelift only a year ago, the current generation of the Ford Taurus sedan that originally debuted at the 2009 Detroit Motor Show isn't due for a redesign for another few years.

Nevertheless, Tyler Bame, a 22-year old automotive design student from Lawrence Tech in Michigan, drew up a couple of sketches that represent his idea for what a next generation of the Taurus sedan could look like.
