Infiniti delivered the FX Vettel Edition number 001 (of just 150 made) straight to his home in Switzerland on the eve of Vettel's 26th birthday.

Things really have a tendency to get out of hand in Russia, and a highway crash turns into a felony as an Infiniti FX driver rams a Mitsubishi Colt from behind, launching it into the inner guard rail, causing it to crash quite severely. However, the luxurious Japanese SUV is not seriously damaged, and it speeds away from the scene, disappearing in the distance. Read more »

Infiniti’s Leaf-Based EV Will Most Likely Get Wireless Charging

We already know Infiniti is planning on launching its own Leaf-based premium EV, which they previewed with the LE concept shown at the 2012 New York motor show. Now Autocar is sharing additional details on the model, after having talked with company boss Andy Palmer.

They say that its future “hinges on a standard process of induction charging being introduced around the world,” and it is explained that having cumbersome cables and plugs to fiddle around with contradicts the company’s idea of being premium – so they’re either making it wirelessly-chargeable or not at all…

Infiniti G35 Coupe, Where Do You Think You're Going?

Here's a video shot in the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan that has us kind of baffled, in the sense that we're not sure how the driver of the Infiniti G35 Coupe (unless we're mistaken and it's a G37 Coupe) ended up on the guard rails.

At around the 15-second mark, we see the Japanese coupe entering the main road, but instead of turning, the driver heads straight and violently smashes into the metal rails, with the car then pushing out tons of smoke.

Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan Jointly Recall 3.4 Million Cars Worldwide Over Airbag Issue

In this day and age, automakers share a number of common components, which is beneficial in terms of pushing down costs and development times, but can also be troublesome when something goes wrong, as is the case of a faulty air bag from Japanese manufacturer Takata Corp., which is used by Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan.

Overall, the four Japanese carmakers and their subsidiaries are recalling 3.4 million vehicles worldwide for the same issue that stems from improperly manufactured propellant wafers that could cause the airbag inflator to rupture and the front passenger airbag to deploy abnormally in the event of a crash.

Infiniti Boss Says Upcoming Compact Car Targets a "34-year old French Lady Called Pascale"

The importance of marketing in the automotive industry has grown to such an extent that it is now involved in the very first stages of development of new cars. This explains why carmakers have begun creating a biography for a single target buyer even before starting to develop a model car.

Take for instance Nissan’s luxury subsidiary Infiniti, which already knows everything about the people who will be buying its upcoming compact model, loosely inspired by the Etherea concept (shown in the pictures) and due to appear in 2015.

Infiniti Q50 Lands in Europe with Merc's 168HP 2.2-liter Diesel and 359HP Hybrid Version

The brand-new Infiniti Q50, which made its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show last January, made its European premiere in Geneva and, according to the manufacturer, it is its “most significant car yet for the European marketplace”.

That’s because the rear-wheel drive sedan is designed to compete in the compact premium class where it will face some stiff opposition. Since most Europeans opt for diesel engines, the Q50 will be available in the Old Continent with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel that puts out 168HP (170PS) and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.

Kids Steals Dad's Infiniti and Go for a Joyride, Share Video with the World

If your kids are at that age when they want to test their (and your) limits, and at the same time, show an interest in automobiles, keeping your car's keys out of reach might sound over the top, but it could save you and your kid from a lot of headaches.

We all know that children have, and will always be mischievous. One big difference today is that, when they do something they know deep down inside is wrong, for some reason, they make use of modern technology to record their actions, which, of course, usually turns around to bite them in their behinds later on.

Exec Says Nissan Considered Killing Infiniti, has Plans for an "Emotional" (GT-R-Based?) Flagship

It may come as a surprise but the Infiniti Q50 sports sedan may have not made the waves it did at this year’s Detroit Auto Show – in fact, the whole Infiniti brand may have ceased to exist by now, according to Nissan vice president Andy Palmer.

In an interview at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Palmer told Wards Auto that, when he expressed his doubt about whether the group would be better off without Infiniti and its ho-hum performance, CEO Carlos Ghosn “challenged me and said ‘We don’t have to do Infiniti, you can cancel it if you want’”.

Infiniti to Launch Four New Models, Revamp its U.S. Line-Up in the Next Four Years

Leaving aside the Corvette Stingray, Infiniti’s 2014 Q50 sports sedan was probably one of the more anticipated cars that debuted at the 2013 North American International Auto Show.

According to Infiniti President Johan de Nysschen, the premium sedan is the “first salvo” in Nissan’s luxury division expansion strategy that includes the launch of at least four more models and revising all of its North American nameplates over the next four years.
