Mercedes-Benz's Upcoming Porsche 911 Challenger, the SLC AMG, Rendered

With a starting MSRP of a shade under $200,000 in the U.S. and €190,000 in its home market of Germany, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in Coupe and Roadster body styles is positioned in the mid-price range of exotic sports cars.

Now, being that Germany's finest car manufacturers are on a mission to cover every single niche, no matter how big or small it is, one shouldn't be the least surprised to learn that Merc's AMG division has set its eyes on the entry-level premium sports car category with a new model priced at around (possibly even under) the $100,000 mark.

Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz Plotting a Facelift for SLS AMG GT

The SLS AMG is one of those classy and dare we say, sexy sports cars that never get old in terms of looks no matter how many years pass by. Nevertheless, since we live in an age of constant product introductions and improvements, Mercedes is going with the flow preparing what appears to be the SLS AMG GT's first true cosmetic refresh. No Watermarks: Mercedes Scoops Its Own Shots of New AMG SLC that will Fight the Porsche 911

Before we tell you about these shots of the new Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG, allow us to start on a different note (feel free to jump to the fourth paragraph if you don't want to read our rant). We often see automakers having special and sometimes even questionable relationships with certain media by providing them with early information and material.

This brings us to these photos of a camouflaged Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG that were posted on certain magazine websites, some of which, like the UK's Autocar and Car, placed their watermarks on, evidently to make us believe they are spy shots, when in fact, they were handed over to them by none other than Mercedes itself…

Well, when there's a will, there's a way, right? Our spy photo associates at CarPix may have not scooped the SLC AMG, but they were able to get their hands on the unofficially-official pictures in all their high-resolution glory and pass them on to us so we can share them without any watermarks below - if you're in the same line of work or hobby as us, use them as you please…

Scoop: A Bigger and More Mature Mercedes-Benz C-Class Is On Its Way

The new CLA compact sports saloon (or four-door coupe in marketing talk) is a game changer not only for the segment, but also for one of Mercedes' most popular models, as it creeps up very closely to the current C-Class in terms of pricing and dimensions.

Its presence in Benz's range means that the C-Class' successor will try to distance itself from the CLA through a longer and roomier body, a more mature design that draws inspiration from the larger S-Class, higher quality materials and a more refined ride, along, of course, with the rear-wheel drive setup (though, all-wheel drive will be optional).

New Mercedes S63 AMG "Accidentally Revealed" While Rolling Off the Production Line?

Since the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been revealed, and we’ve seen quite a few photos of it, it’s really not hard to imagine what the hot S63 model will look like, especially if we take a peek at what goes into transforming an E-Class into an E63 – different sportier bumpers, slight body kit, new rims and AMG badging both inside and out, all complimented by special color finishes.

However, we need not wonder any more, as Mercedes has accidentally revealed the S63, at the Sindelfingen factory where it is built, through a video found by Autoforum. The Czechs argue that it wasn’t really accidental, and that we were meant to see this – we agree, though we cannot ever be certain of such matters.

What if the New Mercedes-Benz CLA was a Proper Coupe?

There have been many heated discussions over the past few years about whether sedan models with low rooflines (sometimes lacking door-window frames) should be called four-door coupes and if the term itself is contradictory, but at the end of the day, this is how we have come to know and call cars like the Volkswagen CC, the Mercedes-Benz CLS, and more recently, the CLA.

We're not going to get into that discussion again, though, you're more than free to do so if you wish in the comments, but we will share this rendering of a proper Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe made by the creative minds at Hungary's X-Tomi Design.

Refreshed 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe Gets a Digital E63 AMG Treatment

There never was, and there will never be, an official AMG high-performance version of the C207-codenamed Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe that was just recently launched in facelifted form, something that the German brand has already admitted as being a big mistake that will be corrected with the next generation model. Autocar Says New Mercedes S-Class Coupe Shown In Display, We Shake Our Heads [Updated]

We're not saying it's impossible to be fooled by video shots and renderings, but sometimes it's not that hard to tell whether a car seen is a coupe or a saloon, which brings us to this cropped photo of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class' large display on the center console, courtesy of Autocar.

The British magazine claims that the car you see here is the first camouflage-free photo of the new S-Class Coupe (or perhaps next CL, if AutoMotorundSport's report is correct). The author states that, "the Mercedes S-class coupé has been revealed in a dashboard graphic captured during the car's development programme" adding that "the dashboard graphic appears to show a slightly modified front bumper from that fitted to the new S-class saloon."

New Revealing Spy Shots of Next 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan

While we don't have any new information to report on the next iteration of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, what we do have to share with you are some very revealing scoop photos of a pre-production model without any camouflage that was nabbed just before the German carmaker's people threw a cover on it.

The pictures expose the profile and rear end design of the W205 codenamed C-Class that both look softer and less sculptured than on the current model, with the smooth rear bringing to mind the new S-Class, which shouldn't surprise anyone.

Spied: The New Mercedes-Benz S-Class' Rakish Coupe Sibling

Two down, five more to go - we're referring to the body styles of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class family, as we already know that the German premium carmaker plans to expand the range of its flagship series to include a total of seven different models. This week, we witnessed the world premiere of the first two members of the S-Class clan, the regular- and long-wheelbase sedans.

So, what's next? Well, we've seen limousine style prototypes as well as the coupe variants that will replace the current CL-Class models, while the talk on the street is that we will see at least one four-seater convertible, possibly two if the rumors about a sedan-cabriolet turn out to be true. For the time being, we're going to concentrate on the new S-Class Coupe that our spies nabbed testing on public roads.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Brochure Leaks Online Revealing the Car in Detail

The clock might be ticking quickly for the world premiere of the all new, and very important for a number of reasons, 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan, at a special event in Hamburg, Germany, next week on Wednesday, May 15 (watch the reveal live here), but the internet never rests…

On top of all the other official and unofficial leaks ranging from the front-end picture of the luxury full-size sedan to images of a toy die-cast model, we now have a brochure of the W222-codenamed Mercedes S-Class, courtesy of a reader of the Germancarforum.

The German-language brochure scans provide a clearer look at the new S-Class' more chiseled and cleaner exterior body that does away with the bloated fenders and gains a swoopier profiler that continues to remind us of the brand's smaller CLA and CLS four-door coupes.

The interior had already been shown by Mercedes-Benz itself recently, and besides the completely new design that blends classic and modern lines to create what could be one of the best looking cabins in the segment and not only, it also comes with a raft of new technology and comfort features.

These range from the twin 12.3 inch TFT screens for the instrument panel and infotainment system to a sophisticated climate control system with active perfuming and filtering of the air, and in a world first, heated armrests all around, just to mention a few.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Revealed as a Die-Cast Model

With only a week left before its official presentation, information and images of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class continue to leak on the Internet. Following the official interior photos of the new flagship sedan, the prototypes caught on video at Mercedes’ plant and the leaked photo showing the front end of the car, we now get to see a new and different kind of set of images with the all-new S-Class.

The photo gallery was posted on a French forum dedicated to miniature models, so the S-Class you see in the images is a 1:18 scale model. However, since these die-cast models must replicate the real car  in detail, we can safely say we are looking at the 2014 S-Class.

New 2014 S-Class Saloons Patiently Wait Outside of Mercedes-Benz Factory

Carscoops reader Felipe R. tipped us off about a new video purportedly filmed at the back of a Mercedes-Benz factory in Germany (possibly the Sindelfingen plant that builds the company's flagship saloon), showing a fleet of lightly covered up W222 S-Class sedans. Read more »

The Latest Batch of Spy Videos of the New Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222

Our Mercedes-Benz radar hit red this morning when the German carmaker mistakenly released the first official photo of the brand-new, and highly anticipated, S-Class, on one of its consumer webpages.

With only a fortnight left for the formal presentation of the car on May 15, it's safe to assume that we'll be getting more sneak peeks of the W222-codenamed luxury model in the coming days and weeks.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class – This is the First Official Photo!

The May 15 world premiere date for the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is nearing, and the first official photo showing the exterior of the car has broken cover, courtesy of the German firm itself. To explain, Mercedes-Benz uploaded the picture on its mobile consumer website in Austria earlier this morning but has since removed it.

The single picture shows the front-quarter end of Mercedes’ new flagship luxury sedan, which is dominated by a larger grille than on the current model and teardrop-shaped headlights.

New 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Passes By the Camera Almost Undisguised

The same thinly disguised 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class prototype that was nabbed by our scoop photographers earlier this week is also making the Nürburgring rounds for some fine-tuning of the chassis and other components before the big reveal on May 15.

Luckily for us, YouTube user Fastsportscardriver was on hand to shoot a video of the Mercedes test car that you can check out for yourself, right below the break.

All-New 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Sedan Scooped with Barely Any Camouflage

It has had its ups and downs over the years, but Mercedes-Benz's S-Class series has withstood the test of time and every new version that comes out is the car to beat in the full-size luxury sedan segment.

Mercedes won't have it any other way with the all-new W222-codenamed S-Class that was nabbed by our scoop photographers with very minimal camouflage – only parts of the lights, the badges and the boot lid edge are covered up, allowing for a detailed view of the premium model.

Our first impression about the exterior design is that Mercedes went for a much cleaner and dare we say, sportier look for the new S-Class, which loses the chubby wheel arches and fussier details of the current W221 model adopting a swoopy profile that is very similar to that of the new compact CLA sedan, along with a sharper looking rear-end.

There's no need for scoop photos for the interior as Mercedes itself has released a number of official images that reveal a brand new cabin that pairs the latest available technologies such as the huge twin 12.3-inch screens for the instrument panel and the infotainment system above the center stack, with a curved design and a classic mix of high-quality materials and decorative trims.

Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz Takes GLA 45 AMG Hot Crossover to the 'Ring

What we believe to be the performance-orientated AMG version of Mercedes-Benz' upcoming GLA crossover, was spied undergoing speed and handling tests around the world's most notorious racetrack, Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Albeit heavily wrapped in masking tape and plastic cladding, like the previous GLA 45 AMG prototype we showed you, this one too sports some special features that confirm its performance pedigree like the larger alloy wheels with wide tires hiding chunky brake discs.

Future Cars: The All-New 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe

We have great news! Yes, for those if you who like to be seen driving an automotive symbol of superiority to their local yacht club, golf course or boulevard, Mercedes-Benz is prepping its latest chapter of luxurious transport - the 2015 S-Class Coupe.

Now I have to admit past large Mercedes coupes have never really grabbed my attention (well apart from the glorious CL 65 AMG), yet they have always looked nice in a vanilla sense. However, in recent spy-shots, Mercedes-Benz has managed to capture my attention in what appears to be a compelling piece of rolling sculpture. So rather than showing an image full of black and white circles on a prototype vehicle, I've rendered something far more visually stimulating for our readers below.

Spied: Mercedes-Benz's New GLA Small Crossover Caught on Film

Here's a new spy video of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA that was captured testing in Northern Europe, about a month before the Germans preview the small crossover with a thinly disguised concept car at the Shanghai Auto Show in China this April, and six months ahead of its world premiere in production form at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
