Lexus to Make First Official Appearance at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Lexus is trying to steer away from its established image of just making comfortable, reliable luxury cars, and inject a bit of zest into the brand, because sporty sells nowadays.

Just take one good look at the revised LS, especially in F-Sport trim – it is considerably more aggressive than anything they've previously done, especially on a big heavy barge like their flagship. This is also evident in the new GS and IS, which again, with the mean F-Sport bits specified, look more aggressive.

Consumer Reports Discovers a Problem with Lexus ES and GS Emergency Trunk Release System

At some point in life, kids want to learn more about their daddy’s work, so they begin to ask questions. If said person works as an editor for an automotive publication or website, it’s quite natural that they will get to be around, and inside, quite a lot of vehicles.

Consumer Reports has a reputation for discovering malfunctions that others have failed to spot. Unlike what some manufacturers who were slammed by CR may believe, its editors are normal human beings, with families and all.

Director of testing Jake Fisher, for example, has two sons aged four and eight. Fisher says that they “already want to be car testers” and they “love exploring every new car I bring home and enjoy trying to fit into every small opening possible”.

2013 Lexus GS 350 Light Tuning Project by Vossen [w/Video]

Proving that you do not need to go to great extents to make your car stand out from the crowd, Vossen Wheels is giving us a taste of one of its most recent projects based on the 2013 Lexus GS 350.

While the Miami-based wheel manufacturer doesn’t go into detail, given the lack of the F-Sport model's fender badges and boot lid spoiler, it appears that the project car is based on the regular GS 350 while sporting the more aggressive looking front bumper and upper and lower grille inserts of the F-Sport variant.

Clean Looking VIP-Style Japanese Sedans Riding on Air Suspensions

One of the more popular fads in the Japanese tuning scene is the VIP Style or "Bippu", which usually refers to the modification of large Japanese sedans, though we have also seen the same theme being applied to import models as well as to vehicles from other categories.

The common denominator of VIP Style models is a clean and hunkered down look achieved through select aero parts, prominent exhaust pipes, high-end rims with low offsets that sit flush with the fender and a lowered suspension.

New GS Hybrid "Heartbeat" Promo vs Older Alfa Campaign Shows Why Lexus Has it All Wrong

As a concept, placing potential buyers on the passenger seat and having a professional driver take them for a very quick spin around a course to see if they manage to keep their heart rate below 120 beats per minute to prove that that the Lexus GS450h is a dynamic and sporty hybrid model, sounds pretty interesting.

But then again, if you think about it, with the right driver and course, even a four-cylinder Toyota Yaris can satisfy a thrill seeker in the passenger seat.

And so while we started out writing about the new Lexus GS 450h promo from advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi in Milan, Italy, launched earlier this month, we were reminded of an older campaign from Drori Shlomi BBDO, for the market introduction of the Alfa Romeo MiTo in Israel in 2010.

Lexus Conducts Voluntary Safety Recall of 2013 GS F Sport Sedan Over Steering Problem

Only a few months after reaching showrooms in the U.S., the 2013 Lexus GS sedan has suffered its first recall, or to be precise, a voluntary safety recall.

However, not all GS variants are affected as the recall concerns approximately 650 units of the 2013 GS 350 rear-wheel drive model with the F Sport package to update the Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) electronic control unit (ECU) calibration.

Man Drives Lexus GS into a California Home's Swimming Pool

One of the last things you expect to see floating in your home's swimming pool is an automobile, yet this is precisely what the Diaz family in California woke up to in the early hours of Sunday.

What had happened is that Modesto Cabral, a 40-year old resident of La Puente, drove his silver Lexus GS430 sedan through the Diaz house's cinderblock wall crashing into their swimming pool.

"We woke up to an awful noise and looked outside, and a car was in the pool," Janelle Diaz, 16, told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune (follow the link for more pictures), which first reported the story. "We had always joked around about it - that someone was going to end up in the pool - because they've hit our wall before," she added.
