Report: Citroen C3 Won’t Get a Direct Successor

The Citroen C3 supermini may not be replaced by an equivalent model when it arrives at the end of its production cycle. According to a report from French business newspaper Les Echos, in 2014, PSA Peugeot-Citroen is preparing to launch a new city car that will preview the French group's new marketing strategy orientated around three words: simple, human, smart. Citroen Releases Details and First Official Images for the Grand C4 Picasso [42 Photos + Video]

In case you are unfamiliar with Citroen’s model designations, if you add ‘Grand’ in front of ‘C4 Picasso’, that means you get a bigger body, which can accommodate three rows of seats, thus being able to seat seven.

Now there’s a new one, which has the same basic concept as its predecessor, yet wrapping it all up in a quirkily-styled package, with a much cleaner and simpler-looking interior than before, and the same basic range of proven engines.

Scooped and Official: Citroen's New Seven-Seater C4 Grand Picasso

With the brand-new five-seater C4 Picasso's face already out in the open, Citroen is now concentrating on the release of its longer and more spacious sibling, the seven-seater C4 Grand Picasso. Carscoops reader Ludovic sent us a scanned page from the French car magazine Auto Journal with the first official photos of the versatile family MPV, and some details, though; we couldn't make out the main text and numbers.

A search on the interwebs landed us on the Planete-Citroen forums where member Frédoën shared a handful of pictures of the new C4 Grand Picasso that he nabbed parked outside a furniture store in eastern France without a single drop of camouflage.

The Citroen DS was a very advanced car for its day, and for what it achieved in its day and age, it is a highly commendable result. Imagine a modern automaker pushing forward the idea of the car today, as much as it did – the result would probably need wings. Read more »

Citroen DS2 Reportedly Coming to Paris Motor Show Next Year to Rival Fiat 500

Citroen’s range of DS-badged cars may get a new addition as of next year, if reports published by AutoBild prove accurate. Apparently, the Dual Chevron brand’s premium lineup is getting its smallest car yet, one that will (predictably) be called the DS2.

According to the information we have at hand, it will be more of a rival for the Fiat 500 and high-spec new Renault Twingos, and not the MINI Cooper, which has had the DS3 chasing after it ever since its launch, and doing a not-so-bad job of it (sales-wise).

Spied: New Citroen C4 Grand Picasso Adds a Controversial Rear End to the Awkward Face

The first spy photos showing the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso undisguised surfaced today on the Spanish website Auto Facil. The images were taken by a reader who spotted the larger, seven-seat version of the new C4 Picasso on a parked trailer in Spain.

Derived from the shorter-wheelbase model, the second generation of the C4 Grand Picasso shares the same front end, albeit with some subtle modifications such as the black line that unites the Citroen logo with the turn signals and the lower part of the bumper that gets a slightly different design.

Autocar Pits Ariel Atom V8, BMW HP4 Superbike and Citroen DS3 Rallycross in 1/4-Mile Race

Here at Carscoops we love a good old quarter-mile drag race, and we’re definitely not alone. So, when the crew from Autocar set up a rather unusual drag race, we were interested to see take a look.

The lineup is made up of three very different machines: there’s a hardcore track monster – the 475bhp rear-wheel drive Ariel Atom V8, a 560bhp rallycross four-wheel drive Citroen DS3, and a 193bhp BMW HP4 superbike. Which of these three do you think is fastest over a standing quarter-mile sprint?

What Do You Say About This 1973 Citroen SM Coupe That's For Sale on eBay?

Seeing a Citroen SM on the roads of Europe is a treat, because these cars are by no means common, due to their specialist status, the relative low number in which they were built, and the high associated acquisition and restoration prices.

If you live in the US, chances are you’ll never see one, because not that many were imported and, like the car we are about to show you, plenty are kept in storage, slowly decaying away.

We Learn Citroen’s Plan to Reinvent Itself from Brand's CEO

Citroen management is going to address rightful concerns regarding their model lineup overlapping that of sister-brand Peugeot, and in order to make the double chevron logo relevant again, they are going to aim these cars at a different audience, which is more into touchscreens than sports suspension packs.

The information comes from the brand’s CEO, Frederic Banzet, who has announced that they their new line of C-branded cars will better compliment their range of “nearly-premium” DS-badged offerings by “optimizing cost-to-function ratio.”
