Ferrari Enzo ZXX Evolution Born Again Following 2011 Dive Into the Atlantic Ocean [w/Videos]

You may remember that in 2011, a Ferrari Enzo XX modified by Edo Competition ended up in the Atlantic Ocean at the Targa Newfoundland competition. Needless to say, the car was badly damaged and had to undergo extensive repairs.

In order to do that, its owner shipped it to Germany so that Edo Competition could take care of it. The removal of the salt water and all damaged parts represented the basis for the rebuild.

F-150 Lives Up to its Built Ford Tough Promise After Container Falls on Truck

If Ford is looking for a real life example to promote its "Built Ford Tough" marketing campaign, perhaps they should take a look at this incident that took place on the premises of the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada on Tuesday.

Carscoops reader Matus Burik happened to be walking outside the university when he saw a Ford F-150 pickup truck in a…low-rider mode sitting under a large dumpster that had just tipped over.

The new rear-wheel drive SS sports sedan won't be heading to Canada, but another new Chevrolet sedan will, which is only natural since the 2014 Impala is built at GM's Oshawa, Ontario factory as well as at the Detroit-Hamtramck, Michigan, assembly plant. Read more »

Great Job Driving Into the Automatic Gates Genius

How can you miss a pair of seven, eight foot (over two meters) tall automatic gates slowly closing right in front of you?

Well, if you don't having a problem with your eyes, the only reasonable explanation we can give is that you were fooling around with your car's radio, you were texting, putting lipstick on or something of the sort that has absolutely nothing to do with driving a vehicle.

Honda Surprises Canadians with World Premiere of New GEAR Concept at Montreal Auto Show

Being that the Montreal International Auto Show takes place the same week as the Detroit Auto Show, we can't say that we were expecting any world premieres, but Honda surprised us today with the unveiling of a new concept car named GEAR at the Canadian event.

The Japanese carmaker stated that the GEAR is a fresh study for a sub-compact (think Ford Fiesta) model aimed at young, urban, Gen-Y lifestyles. It added that the concept was inspired by fixed-gear bicycles (hence the name) and that it is "simple and utilitarian, but also customizable, connected and full of personality."

This is How Canadians Clear the Snow Off Their Roads

In some places, a little bit of salt and a pickup truck fitted with a plow will do fine to clear the roads when Mother Nature shakes her head and sprinkles her dandruff, but in certain areas, it's just won't do the trick, at least not in a timely manner.

That's when you need some heavy machinery to do all the hard work. If you have ever wondered how they do it, a YouTube user filmed a snow removal crew from Canada swiftly clearing up tons of snow with what could be one of the largest snow blowers we've seen working together with several dump trucks.

GM to Move Production of Next Camaro from Canada Back to the U.S., CAW Not Happy…

The next iteration of the Chevrolet Camaro won't be built in Canada, as is the case with the current model, but at GM's Lansing Grand River (LGR) Assembly Plant in Lansing, Michigan.

BoaterHome is a Boat, a Home and a Car All in One

You can call us crazy, or whatever else comes to mind, but strangely enough, we found this oddball creation of which we know nothing about, extremely cool to watch as it came in part docking a boat into the water.

So, what exactly is it, we hear some of you ask? Well, it looks like it's a three-in-one contraption that combines a boat featuring a living space inside with an automobile in the form of a truck with an extended trailer.

TomTom Publishes List of Most Congested Cities in North America and Europe

It’s happened to most drivers: congestion, that is, that plague of modern cities that increases traveling times and, of course, pollution.

Since 2007, Dutch manufacturer of automotive navigation systems TomTom has initiated a program to better understand the traffic flow of more than 80 major cities in all continents to improve its guidance systems.

Instead of relying purely on mathematical models, the company is collecting real-life GPS data from millions of TomTom customers and has created an accurate database of their driving patterns.

Dumb and Dumber Attempt to Restrain a Honda CR-X del Sol in Canada

A raggedy rag Honda Civic del Sol (also known as the CR-X del Sol and the new CR-X, depending on the region) parked on the grass near Lake Beaulac in Quebec, Canada? Check.

Two enthusiastic young men prepared to sacrifice their safety and well-being for the entertainment of their fellow citizens? Check.

A cameraman on hand to record the incident? Check.

All that's left for Canada's Lloyd and Harry is to step on a wooden plank and tell the driver of the Civic del Sol to push the pedal to the metal. You can probably guess what happens next…

CAW Strikes a Deal with Ford, Gives GM and Chrysler More Time to Make Up Their Minds

Negotiations between the Canadian Auto Workers’ union and Ford resulted in a tentative deal concerning the new four-year contract between the workers and the automaker, averting the proposed strike that would start on Monday midnight if a deal couldn't be reached.

Though the deal still needs to be ratified by the union members, it includes creating 600 new jobs, modifying the two-tier wage system, paying CAW members US$9,234 in bonuses over the life of the contract and eliminating guaranteed cost-of-living wage increases. Moreover, new hires will start at about US$21 an hour, but will receive full wages of about $35 an hour after 10, instead of six, years.

CAW Makes Some Concessions Over New Contract with Detroit 3, Carmakers Still Undecided

Three days before the expiration of the ultimatum that the Canadian Auto workers’ union (CAW) has issued to GM, Ford and Chrysler, the union has made some concessions over the new contract in order to avert a simultaneous strike at all three carmakers' Canadian plants as it has threatened.

The CAW is proposing a lower starting wage for newly hired workers and a longer time for them to reach the top of the pay scale. Moreover, unlike current workers, new employees will contribute to their pensions but will still be entitled to a defined-benefit, not a defined-contribution pension.

CAW-Detroit Big 3 Negotiations Continue but Still No Deal Reached, Triple Strike Looms

With only four days remaining until the end of the current contract between the Canadian Auto Workers’ union (CAW) and the Detroit's Big Three, the union announced on Wednesday that meetings between the two parties are becoming more frequent, yet they “have not yielded many results”, which is bringing the event of a triple strike even closer.

September 17 has been set as a deadline from CAW. Unless a deal is reached by midnight, then the union members have voted almost unanimously to strike at GM, Ford and Chrysler, all at the same time.

CAW Threatens to Strike Detroit's Big 3 Simultaneously if They Don’t Agree on New Contract

The Canadian Auto Workers’ union (CAW) is the largest private sector union in the country with over 200,000 members. On September 5, it announced that it would strike General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, if contract talks do not progress.

This is the first time in its history that the CAW threatens to strike all three Detroit carmakers at the same time. The last strike organized by CAW was in 1996 against GM.

The union announced that all of its members will go on strike, since 99 percent of Chrysler Canada, 98 percent of General Motors of Canada and 97 percent of Ford Canada have voted in favor of the move.
