NCE Dreams of Chopping Off the Roof from a Nissan GT-R

In their quest to create a convertible of every single hardtop model out in the market, Newport Convertible Engineering (NCE) spends a lot of time on Photoshop fashioning a number of designs to see if anyone would be interested in following this route.

After the Acura TL, Aston Martin Rapide and Hyundai Equus cabriolets, NEC has released a single (computer generated) image of a Nissan GT-R in convertible.

Nissan Wants Its Own, Better Renault Twizy EV

The Renault Twizy EV, a vehicle that makes sense for cruising on the beachfront in Ibiza, and very short pizza delivery duties, is actually backed by a very good concept.

It is very compact, easy to maneuver and park, while emitting no harmful gasses (at least not directly), and carrying two people in tandem. However, it is hampered by its limited range, very harsh suspension, limited practicality and, of course, the cost of leasing the batteries. However, Renault Group partner Nissan now wants to make its own, better version of the Twizy, as AutoNews Europe reports.

Nissan Shows Versa Nismo Performance Package Concept

Who would have imagined that so many would have such an imagination with Nissan's low-cost compact sedan, which is sold under three different names worldwide including the Versa, Sunny and Almera, and has also spawned a Renault doppelganger called Scala?

After India's DC-Design studio luxed-up the Sunny, Nissan's own Nismo performance and motorsports division presented a supposedly (but not really) sported-up concept that will soon enter production on the sidelines of the Super GT International Series Malaysia 2013.

Nissan Friend-ME Concept was Designed for Young Chinese Buyers

Nissan unveiled the all-new Friend-ME concept at the Shanghai Auto Show this weekend, with the Japanese automaker saying the car was designed for young Chinese buyers, a segment that will soon become the world’s largest.

The company says the Friend-ME is a sedan, although it looks more like a hatchback. Nevertheless, since China is the world’s largest market for sedans, Nissan’s claim is understandable. The four-seater car displays a bold design, but its flowing sculpted lines remind more of Lexus concept car than a Nissan study. The car is the fruit of collaboration between design teams from Nissan Design China (NDC) and Nissan Global Design Center (NGDC).

Nissan Tells Us All We Need to Know About Clay Models in Video

All present cars are designed on a computer, the modern equivalent of stories such as the one about how children would climb over Sir William Lyons' manor wall and watch Mr. Jaguar sketch out his designs in the back yard do not have a modern equivalent.

If they did, it would imply the kids would be familiar with the use of window-washing equipment, so as to ascend to the upper floors of the skyscrapers where cars are dreamt up nowadays, and peer through the glass at computer screens.

Nissan Resonance Concept is a Futuristic Design Proposal Hinting at the Next Murano

Created by Nissan Design America in San Diego, California under the direction of chief designer Shiro Nakamura, the Resonance concept that was unveiled today at the Detroit Motor Show hints at the design philosophy that will be adopted by the Japanese automaker in its future crossovers and especially the Murano.

The concept features a “floating” roof and what its designers call a “V-Motion”, which starts from the grille, moves through the bonnet and “resonates” with the boomerang-shaped headlights that extend almost to the base of the steeply-raked A-pillars.
